Rating: Summary: Loved It Review: Personally, I liked the book. Wanted to cry at some of the stuff in it, but you know if things kept on being the way it was, no one would have thought to have their marital statuses changed at all. These guys loved each other. Perhaps not passionately at first, but as time moved on, they did, and the cruelties they withstood, too much. I believe this was the last Steel novel I read and I wasn't disappointed at all.I was surprized by some of the other reviews here. I admit your creativity kind of wans after you have written so many books, and her earlier novels were very well done. How can one forget? But I enjoyed this as well.
Rating: Summary: Trite garbage Review: Poorly written, large chunks could have been lifted from her other books. Trite one dimensional characters, poorly drawn. A waste of time.
Rating: Summary: Ms. Steel's 53 rd. Novel is a smashing success! Review: The 'queen of romance' delivers yet another (her 53rd.) block busting hit with her newest romantic mystery, 'The Kiss.' A heartfelt story about the power of love to heal, free, and to transform. A Book not to be missed!
Rating: Summary: Excellent!Excellent!Excellent! Review: The story is wonderful! I bought the abridged version and was so sorry I had not bought the unabridged. I loved the characters and the story is great from begining to end. I love Danielle Steel's books. I love great romance stories, and she certainly delivers. If you love romantic stories, you'll love this!!
Rating: Summary: Good but Repetitive Review: The story was very good. The characters were well defined. I read the book in two days because I couldn't put it down. I did not like the way DS kept repeating the feelings of different people, motives each character may or may not have had and the situations that were mentioned in the stoy. She told the same things over and over. I found myself skimming those parts of the book I thought I had already read.
Rating: Summary: Repetitive at times...but still very good Review: This book is repetitive at times...but still very good. The ending is very touching...sweet. Die-hard Danielle Steel fans will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: There are much better books out there... Review: This book was pretty boring. I only finished it because it was the only book I had with me while on a flight. It is repeatitive and the dialogue is not believable. I would not recommend it.
Rating: Summary: An ok read Review: This book wasn't bad. A little far-fetched and also a ton of repetitive descriptions. I actually said aloud more than once, "Ok! I get it already!" I was quite surprised that Bill didn't have a 100% recovery which gave the story a bit more credibility. I was happy I could read this book, because there have been a couple of her more recent novels that I simply could not get into. So I would recommend this one for a light read.
Rating: Summary: One of her better newer books Review: This is one of DS's better newer novels. It was a great love story and you really begin to root for true love. Pretty predictable, but a fun read.
Rating: Summary: Terrible Review: This is the last Danielle Steel book that I'll ever waste my money on. She's gotten lazy and doesn't bother developing her characters. She tells entirely too much and never shows. I am sick of her heroines being beautiful, perfect angels with absolutely no flaws while everyone else around them are the bad guys. The ending was rushed and way too predictable. Why bother reading the book when you know--JUST KNOW--that this insipid, cooing couple is going to end up in others arms. They deserve each other, anyway, they are so boring in their so-called perfection. Nothing from this book evoked any iota of emotion from me. For example, I understand that the child, Teddy, had a heart condition, but why did he act eight instead of fourteen? Did the condition spread to his brain? How were we to believe that Isabelle and Bill were in love when this fact was shoved down our throats instead of being told to us, as any good writer would do? We are constantly TOLD that they are great friends, but Steel insults our intelligence by never showing us and letting us decide that fact for ourselves. Then the rest of the novel gets saturated with melodramatics fit for soap operas, not fiction. This book was entirely without substance. Waste of time. Lady, the next time you write a book, try having your female lead character be an ordinary looking, middle class woman WITH FLAWS, LIKE EVERY OTHER HUMAN BEING. Maybe I won't feel like throwing up every time the poor insipid little waif, with a wealthy but tyrannical husband she's too wimpy to stand up to, opens her mouth. But if you do create such a character, I won't be wasting my money to witness such a miracle.
