Summary: A quick read--a grand love story
Review: I have read every book by DS and have always enjoyed the story lines. After 9/11, it's fun to escape into her characters' lives and live the tale-----usually a romantic one. This novel was not a dissapointment in that respect. It was a story of true love, soul mates,everlasting-kind of love and passion. However, I feel that she has become very sloppy with her grammar, her telling the story in a casual fashion without proper sentence structure. For me, that certainly distracts from the reading. Too many sentences start with "And" and run together. She repeats herself over and over again------to a fault. She is writing too many novels in too short of a time------not paying attention to the details of writing. After reading some excellent authors, DS has lost her appeal. I read this entire book in just a few hours----skimmed it quickly. That was easy to do. That way I could avoid all of the extra "and" words. A fun story with a happy ending, yes. But a novel of substance and good writing, it is not.

Summary: Slow.........
Review: I have read many of DS's books, this was not my favorite. I think the chracters were very well written, but way toooooooo much about Bill and Isabelle's feelings, the chapters went on and on about how they felt about each other. You get the message loud and clear on that after about three chapters. The ending was not what I expected. It just kinda of ended with - no bang. This is a good read if you want to pass the time reading a love story, but if you want a page turner, don't bother. My favorite by Steele is still by far, Malice.

Summary: A great book to curl up with...
Review: I kept putting off reading this book because I always read Danielle Steel's books too fast and then they're over and I have nothing that great to read. This book follows the same plot as most of her books, but I love her books. The beginning was a bit boring, but I quickly got absorbed into the story. I won't spoil the story, but if you like Danielle Steel's past books, you will like this one as well.

Summary: One of Her Best
Review: I love inspirational love stories where the heroine triumphs over tragedy. This was one of DS best work. I liked the integrity of the characters. Their friendship, committment and sincerity. It was a quick read and one especially to read on a holiday meant for relaxing.

Summary: The Bus Crash was the best!
Review: I loved Steel's portrayl of a double-decker bus crash. I have been in four of them myself and that is EXACTLY how it really is. It's almost as if Ms. Steel has been researching these sorts of crashes for decades. It was quite a let down that there was only one in this book, but given the enormous response it's gotten I am confident she will work more double-decker bus crashes into her future works. I also liked how Isabelle's young son Teddy was sick, that ruled! Way to go!

Summary: The Kiss
Review: I really was captivated by this book. We were on a vacation with some family members and I started reading this book and I admit I was poor company. I loved this book and the characters.
I could hardly wait to finish it to see how it ended.

Summary: The Kiss by Danielle Steel
Review: I started reading this book the minute I got it. I so look forward to reading her novels. This one keep me so intrigued it was hard to put it down and tend to my families' needs. I felt like I was right there with the characters with all the happenings. The first kiss was so magical and holds them on after the tragedy. I still cannot beleive that Isabelle's husband could be so cold and heartless. Isabelle was so good to her family and her wifely duties that sometimes, I got so frustrated with her husband being a real "jerk" and having no heart when it came to his own son. The Love affair was written very true to reality, yet was not "smutty" at all, true to a Danielle Steel novel. Bill and Isabelle were in love and Bill's reactions to his body afterwards is so very true to reality. I see it all the time as I am a RN. I loved it having a happy ending and that all the characters got what they deserved. I recommend this novel to all Danielle Steel fans and romance readers.

Summary: Tired, tired, tired story.
Review: I used to be a great fan of Danielle Steel, but in the last few years her stories have become repetitive and boring. I finished reading a recent one the other night, and threw it across the room in disgust - it had no real ending! "The Kiss" is far-fetched and a great disappointment, as are all of Ms. Steel's novels over the past few years. What happened to the creative writer who wrote "Star", "Heartbeat", "Summer's End",
"Lightening" - those were passionate and interesting - good reads! I am disappointed by "The Kiss", as I have been with other recent novels of this author. I used to enjoy her work so much, I purchased each new story. When I lost all my D.S. books in a hurricane, I re-purchased each and every one! Not any more!

Summary: Pretty good
Review: I used to read DS all the time, but have slowly weaned myself off when it occured to me that her books all followed the same basic plotline, and as a result are painfully predictable. The female character goes through pure hell before emerging victorious with the man of her dreams. Nothing wrong with books addressing women overcoming adversity, but with her the woman is always perfect, nice, loving, she does no wrong to anyone--it's just that life has handed her a bad hand. And usually it's an awful (sometimes unbelievable) hand.

Hence this pattern continues with "The Kiss" except, this was worst than most. Many people in these reviews point to Steele's repetitiveness, and I can't not agree more. Does she think we didn't catch it the first 30 times she mentioned that Timmy was sick, her husband [is horrible], and she loves Bill? I skimmed through some parts that just repeated things... I have a feeling Ms. Steele made use of the "Copy and Paste" feature on her word file (ha!)

The predictable (and boring) ending was such a disappointment... all of a sudden after being so stubborn he turns around and decides he wants her. Not a lot of fluidity.

Hope Steele sees this...
