Review: I have read a bunch of Jerry Spinelli's books and liked them, but this was not up to par. I am an avid reader and read everything from historical fiction to modern fiction to future fiction to fantasy to mysteries to everything. There are only three books I can remember ever starting and not liking enough to finish. And you guessed it, Stargirl was one of them. I'm sure that some people would probably like this book, but I thought it was awful. I thought the characters and the plot were lousy and in fact the only thing I liked about it was the cover because they just put the pictures and not the title. You might want to read it if you're library/bookstore just burned down and it's the only thing left, but otherwise, get something else.

Summary: A REALLY! GOOD! BOOK!!
Review: Star girl is such a good book!! It shows how mean teenage girls can be and how the world of teenagers is so materialized! I loved it!! It was quite an eye-opener for me... I realized that to be cool, you need to be yourself!! I think that if stargirl was a realy girl, she would be ever sooo awesome!! But it would be like in the book, nobody would really accept her. It's very well written and I would reccomend it to anybody!!!

Summary: My Absolute Favorite Book!!
Review: This book was so amazing. Throughout the story, the character Stargirl makes you laugh and think about what is really important. I wish I knew someone like her who wasn't afraid of being different and showed how much she cared about other people. She has such a great spirit and is really inspiring. The end of the book is so good but leaves the story unfinished. It brought me to tears and really is a book worth reading for any teen girl! I highly recommend it!!

Review: This book was wonderful. It told how hard life is for a teenager who is an outcast among others.

Most people ca't accept themselves or others as they are so they become mean and nastly. They change so no one knows who they are. But Stargirl is the most down-to-earth person there is. She loves herself for who she is even of other people can't. She will not change herself just because she is weird or odd or no one likes her.

This is told through the eyes of a guy who comes to get to know Stargirl. He might not understand her, but he respects her. Even the second word of everyones mouth is "Stargirl this" "Stargirl that" she always stands her ground.

This book really makes you think about all the bad things you have done. Really makes you think. Reach down inside yourself and see who you really are just like Stargirl.

Summary: READ IT AND WEEP
Review: To be absolutely honest, I loved this book more than a lot of books I have read in a long time. It was beautiful but I found the end of it extremely sad. You will fall in love with Stargirl and want to be her best friend. You will cry when she does and feel passionate about everything she feels passionate about. You will long to make her feel happy. Not extremely descriptive, but wonderful.

Summary: Stargirl: a great go to the beach and chill book
Review: This was a pretty good book. We can all relate to the popularity issues dealt with in this book. It's a quick read and great for if you'll just be laying out on the beach for one or two days. (That's about how long it will take to finish it.) You'll definitely love the character Stargirl, probably hoping we could all be as care free about what people think as she is. I hope you read this book. You might learn to have a new outlook on popularity in school.

Summary: A great book about finding yourself, who people really are
Review: I've never given 5 stars before, being pretty picky about books, but Stargirl is unbelieveable. One of the best reasons that Stargirl is so great for teens is that nearly every teen (I'm 13) can identify with the terrible conformism of high school. It's so hard to be yourself when what's "cool" is something else, and those who aren't "cool" suffer, plus you're at the age where you're not sure who you are anyway. Wouldn't it be wonderful to just be the crazy, great person you're trying to find inside you? Stargirl is that crazy person inside all of us. At first, as she enters a regular conformist high, she's stared at, then loved, then hated, which causes her to try to be someone else. The very simple lesson in Stargirl is that even the wildest, open people aren't always sure about themselves, and even though you may suffer terrible consequences, the most important person you know is yourself, and you must always be true to that person. The book had many other layers, too; first love, decisions, humor..it is a slim book that speaks volumes. I recommend it to the fullest. 6 stars!

Review: StarGirl is a really cool girl, and when you read it, you'll find out why. Basically it's a story about acceptance, and StarGirl's chance to become popular in school. All she has to do is change....but will she? Will she stay true to herself?

I think this is definetly a raed for all ages, and is a good "light read.." if you want to put it like that. I am not a big fan of Jerry Speneli, but this book was probably his best in my opinion. Only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because it lacked minor development...but other than that, this book is a must-read!

Review: this book is not one of those that you read to waste away time, or when you have nothing else to do. when you finish, you're filled with different ideas, with dreams in your head. i've learned to leave spare change, leave potted violets and cards every where, and one important thing: every act of kindness counts.

Review: Stargirl is a great book to take with you to the beach if you're looking for something quick and fun to read. Stargirl is a quirky character, but someone you would love to know. She gives her boring school a fun-loving, carefree atmosphere. Stargirl fights rejection and rudeness. Her average day consists of blank stares, snickering,whispering, and rude comments. Luckily, she soon finds friends and more-than-friends, and her life isn't as hard. From the first day of school, to the day she's followed home, to the night of the prom, this book made me laugh at all the funny parts and cry at all of the sad ones. I highly reccommend this book to all.
