Summary: One of the best I have read in a long time.
Review: I had been eyeing this book for weeks trying to deside if I was too old to read it. Finally I picked it up and I fell madly in love with it. What a fun story. Stargirl is a person I would have loved to be in school. Someone who is not afraid of herself. What a beautiful story. I think everyone should read it.

Summary: Judging stargirl
Review: Stargirl. When she comes to pedestrian Mica High school in an explosion of cheers. In the halls it's always "Stargirl" "stargirl". Stargirl hooks Leo Borlocks heart with just one smile. She fires a spirited revolution with a cheer. They are captured by her spell( at first.)
Then they shun her. Because she is an outcast. Leo was nervous and persuaded her to be what would burn out her fire: being normal. Jerry Spinelli writes an amazing story about a girl that will make you cry and think.

Summary: Stargirl is wonderful!
Review: Mica High is a place where no one is different and everything is the same. But this will all change when a new girl named Stargirl Caraway arrives on the first day of 10th grade. "She is elusive" was probably the best way to describe whatever Stargirl truley was. Only one thing was for sure- no one accepted her. That is, except Leo Borlock. Falling head over heels in love with her, he realizes that he must chose between her and everyone else.
I think that this was a very powerful book, that taught the reader about simple acts of kindness. Stargirl was more of a spirt and celebration of humanity then a character in a book. I think that everyone should read and learn from Stargirl's ways. This was an awesome book! - Geena~ Age 12

Summary: Mudpie, Pocket Mouse, Hullygully....Stargirl
Review: Everybody at MAHS are the same, they talk the same talk and walk the same walk. What turns the school upside down is Stargirl. She makes up her own talk and walk...and more. She became popular because of this, was copied off of and became a ra-ra cheerleader. But then she goes too far with that honor...
This book brings up lots of discussion and you can really relate to Stargirl, or the characters to other characters of Jerry Spinelli. What a masterpeice!

Summary: Something Different
Review: The book Stargirl is a story about a girl who is a little different. At first, the book is slow, but it then becomes very interesting. I like the book because it is very different. It highlights the teenage years and how popularity is important to young kids. When something different comes along it is hard for kids to adjust. It includes a teenage crush and pressure from other teenagers to fit in. It is a great story for teenagers to read and enjoy. The author of Stargirl is Jerry Spinelli, who has written many wonderful books. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially the young, teenagers of today.

Summary: How True to Yourself are You?
Review: Are you someone who follows the crowd, wears, talks, and thinks like everyone else? If you are, then you might want to read a book about someone who is totally herself, and doesn't care about what anyboby thinks or does. Stargirl is the title, and the author, Jerry Spinelli, finds a way to make it as if you're there, you're her herself, Stargirl.

Stargirl is a girl who has been homeschooled her whole life, up until tenth grade. At first, nobody new what to make of her. This book shows everything she went through and how everyone treated her.

Her name, Stargirl. Very unusual. She had made it up, and changed it whenever she got tired of it.

I thought Stargirl was a great book. I really liked how Spinelli put this book into detail. He really made a clear picture in my mind. One thing I didn't like was how, on one or two parts, I wasn't 'in' the book. I mean, at those parts I wasn't as interested. Everything else was fabulous. I just want to congradulate Jerry Spinelli on how well he wrote this book, because I truly thought Stargirl was fantastic, and it would be nice if everyone showed their true self. So, don't hesitate, ... purchase Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, you won't regret it!

Summary: Untouched By The Crowd
Review: Every school has one--some are simply better known than others. They come and they go, and some take little notice, but others change lives. This is a story of the untouched individual-unique and unashamed of her individuality. Stargirl Caraway is the illusive and intriguing individual of the school-she dresses how she pleases (mostly in pioneer skirts) and she sings "Happy Birthday" accompanied by her ukulele to the birthday student of the day-in front of the entire student body at lunch hour! Stargirl even dances in the rain. When Leo gets to know the girl behind the seeming insanity, he is surprised and pleased, yet somehow dissatisfied. Told in his voice, this is a story of true appreciation, genuine and unashamed compassion, and heartfelt love.
The elements of this story are simple-a unique girl mysteriously shows up in a small town, obliviously throws Mica High School into dis-equilibrium, and turns the student body upside down-first being shunned, mocked, then accepted, and finally ignored. Leo's is not the only life that is changed forever by this stunning girl. The community and school are shocked by this outrageous schoolgirl without inhibitions, but her bright "Pollyanna" attitude keeps them from absolutely hating her. Some are annoyed, others outright mad, but no one can stop her from caring.
Stargirl lets her life have vibrancy and color-she rebels against the societal "grays" and sparks a flame of brilliance that cannot be extinguished by the crowd. The only thing that could change her is the person she loves, and unfortunately Leo attempts such a change. When Leo attempts to "normalize her," I felt my heart plummet. I was disappointed, even hurt. Who would try to change such a unique individual into a mere "popular" copy? Who would let such an uncontaminated individual into a den of lions? By letting Stargirl experience a piece of the world, Leo also allowed her to feel the cruelty and harshness that Stargirl was otherwise oblivious to. Luckily her persona came back, undoubtedly altered, but still unequaled.
Spinelli wrote a brilliant work. The story flows with such ease, yet has subtleties that unconsciously tie this girl into every individual's life. Stargirl lives on through each person touched by this book. Without a doubt, this is a must-read for any young adult out there.

Summary: Susan is Stargirl
Review: This book is okay. I liked how Stargirl and Leo followed a person in the mall. The part about "picking and flicking" was really funny. I also would've liked to have found out what happened to the boy in the accident. Also, who was the guy that died? I didn't like when Leo made Cinnamon fall to the ground. Overall, this book was a little sad and a little bit funny.

Summary: this book is really good
Review: This is the best book I've ever read. Stargirl is so cool she is just like my friend. Stargirl likes to give old people flowers and she kisses Leo on the lips. I also liked it because she was always so helpful with other people. I also liked her rat Cinnamon. She is also like my spanish teacher Mrs. Nunez because my teacher is so nice and so is Stargirl. My teacher Mrs. Plona is just like her because she helps me just like Stargirl helps other people and my teacher also helps me with my work just like Stargirl helped her friend Dori Dilson.
