Rating: Summary: A Must-Read for Teens Review: I've recommended this book to so many of my friends at school. Every one who has taken my suggestion has loved this book! It could be because of how realistic the characters are. This story could just as well have been set at my high school with my classmates and me as characters. Any teenager can relate to this story.
Rating: Summary: stargirl review Review: Stargirl is a great book. This girl comes to mica high. She is different and weired. Her name is stargirl.she wears 70's dresses and has a rat. She is very different and nobody likes her, but then she becomes popular. When no one likes her any more dhe tries to fit in. This book is teallu good becuse it is realilistic. Everyone wan'ts to be popular in a way but it is ok to be yourself. Thats what this book shows. It is exicting and has a bite of adventure. The book stairgirl also makes you feel like you are in her position and makes you feel sorry for those who are tarrific people but don't shine as brite as the others.(the popular people.)
Rating: Summary: 4 Stars For The Star Review: Whose ever met a girl who plays a ukelele, sings "Happy Birthday" to strangers, wears flapper dresses, and carries her pet rat every where? I really liked the book Stargirl. I thought that I could relate to the book with me wanting to change. This book really is what high school and junior high is like. I thought some parts were wierd, because I couldn't relate or really imagine that part in real life. For instance Hillari (the most popular girl) almost kills Stargirl's pet rat, and all Stargirl does is stand there. I felt more in touch with Stargirl when bad things were happening to her. Like when the entire school shunned her for being different. I felt her sadness. This book has a great moral which is to always be yourself no matter what.
Rating: Summary: Stargirl! Review: Oh man, I can't even put into words how great this book is. I can honestly say that this book is onen of the best, if not THE best book ever written. I read this book in two days, but probably could have read it in less than one because it is such a quick and addicting book. I recommend this book to everybody. This is a great celebration of nonconformity and after reading this book, your entire outlook on life will be completely different. When I first started reading this book, I was embarrased to bring a book with a cover like it has to school, so I covered it. By the end, it had changed me so much that I proudly showed off that cover. This is a brilliant work that is amazingly deep. Every person of every age must read this book.
Rating: Summary: star girl =star book review Review: The day Stargirl arrives at Mica, everybody murmers: "Stargirl" Stargirl" Did you see her?" Well, no one has seen anything like her. She doesn't wear make-up, she plays the ukelele in front of everbody in the lunchroom, sings happy birthday to students, sends people cards and doesn't sign them, and cheers for the team, and the enemy. Everyone wonders who she is and why she is like this. But then Leo orlock and Kevin invite her on "HOT SEAT" the High School TV show. Before a mere five minutes, a mean girl, Hillari, and a bunch of other people, start grabbing at the microphone. "Why are you different? Why don't you wear make-up? Why do you cheer for the other team? etc." The show was never aired. But somehow Leo starts going out with Stargirl, they always hold hands and walk in the halls, with Stargirl jabbering away in Leo's ear. But they soon notice, they are the ONLY ones. Nobody nods, they don't have to go around people, people make a way for them. They never talk to them. Soon this romantic 2 person magical world turns into a lonely isolation. Saying hi is rare. Everbody has turned against Stargirl for everything that makes her different. They all hate her. Leo, who feels sorry for her, tries to talk to her about sending cards to people, showing up at everbody else's funerals, and respecting other people's privacy. "Why not? Why not?" she asks. Stargirl explains to Leo how she knows information like this. She follows people around for 15 minutes, and reads every single thing fornt to back in the paper. Leo urges her to be normal, so kids don't despise her. And low and behold the next day she has make-up and rings and dresses normally and calls herself: Susan. Which is her real name. But the next day she goes to a state competetion and wins. "YOu know how crowds get wild, I'll hand my award down to you and you carry it. Crowds seperate, you know. But there are no crowds. Just her parents and Dori Dilson. The next day she's back to Stargirl, but everone ignores her and doesn't care. She creates a band, room for 40 people, the Ukee Dooks. But only Dori signs up. Leo thought it was too painful to watch. No one listened. Stargirls goes to a ball and doesn't invite Leo. She tells Guy Greco to play the bunny hop. Everyone joins in but Hillari and her date, Wayne Parr. When the bunny hoppers finally returned, Hilari says, "You ruin everything!!" and slaps her. Stargirl gave her a little kiss on the cheek and rode off. That was the last anyone saw of her. I give this book 4 stars because you never find out what happens to Stargirl and Leo never even goes after her. An elementary school replaces her vacnat lot, and no one ever saw her. Now, 15 years later, Leo still wonders.
Rating: Summary: YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS YET?! Review: I don't usually shuffle to the kiddie section with eyes of glee when i hear the words: Spinelli or NEW BOOK! I just roll my eyes. But this AmAzEiNg! book caught me by storm. Being a displaced child myself, I could relate to everything the book had to say. Once again, jerry has managed to find me and blow me away. The characters are well crafted. (you could almost see the characters come out and pop into your living room.) The plot was just...wow...I didn't see anything of the ending coming. Having read many "kiddie" books, i expected a "la-la-la-let's-skip!" ending, but again jerry triumphs with a heart-wrenching story about love, and being a little different from the mediorcre world. (^o^~)

Rating: Summary: a star in the light! Review: I love this book. It many give it in a mans prespective but this prticular book is an everyone book. The girl shows you how she's been made fun of and made the biggest loser in school. But she doesn't let it bug her. Untill one night something horrorable and something wonderful happens that night.Read this book and you'll be glad you did.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book to Read Review: I give this book 4 stars because it was a really good book, but it needed a few things that could have made it better. Stargirl is a book about a girl who moves into a new school, but doesn't fit in with anyone. She is the friendliest person you would ever meet yet no one liked her. I liked this book because it has a lot to do with teen life and how we are always trying to fit in with the "popular" people. I could kinda relate to the book which made it more interesting to read. It also made me feel like I was more into the book. I didn't like the ending of the book though. I think it could have been better. In a way the ending also had a connection of teen lifes, but I didn't like it. For the most part, Stargirl was a very exciting and interesting book.
