Summary: Don't listen to reviews re historically incorrect facts
Review: To the people who insist her book is historically incorrect, how do you know that NO ONE was burned in Salem? I mean, NO ONE??? Not one person, at all? Is there proof? It only takes one case to prove this wrong, and to assume that no one, absolutely without a doubt that no one, was burned in Salem is far-fetched. Just because the statement was printed in a history book does not mean it is fact - true for most cases, yes, but not 100% right. Anyone who has taken a math class on this type of theory, making an over-reaching assumption such as this, better have some damn good proof to back it up. That being said, her book is great and very thought-provoking. Please don't be deterred by skeptics grabbing at such a stupid reason to criticize her book, due to a supposed historical fallacy that is very questionable.

Summary: Historically Incorrect
Review: While I normally enjoy the works of the humorous psychic Sylvia Browne and also enjoy the whole New Age genre, I feel that I must speak up about this title. Sylvia Browne includes several case studies in this book about how people's past lives have caused them to suffer from related phobias in their present lives. The book goes along nicely - until Sylvia alleges that one woman's current fear of fire was caused by her having been "burned as a witch" in Salem, Massachusetts. However, as any schoolchild who has ever had to read about the Salem Witch Trials can tell you, THERE WERE NO people burned as witches in Salem, Massachusetts! That may have been customary in Europe but it did not happen in Salem. Almost all of the convicted "witches" were HUNG in Salem; and one poor man, Giles Corey, was pressed to death with rocks. But nobody was burned at the stake in Salem, Sylvia! I strongly recommend that you - and especially your publisher - check your historical facts before putting a story like this out before the public as "truth" again!

Summary: The Fact is Regression Heals
Review: [...]: It does not matter if historical facts are correct - what matters is past life regressions heal! Sylvia reinstates this fact throughout the book. The lady who was regressed into a past life in Salem also originally thought she was Joan of Arc - in other words, she possessed quite an imagination. Perhaps she WAS a witch at the trials that was hung over a burning fire. The book states that she had "thick ropes chafing her wrists and ankles..." When people are hung they are usually tied at the wrists and ankles. On a more positive note, it is refreshing to have a new book by Sylvia on a whole new subject matter. I loved it. It just so happened to be released at the same time I am being certified to become a hypnotherapist. I believe strongly in the power of regression therapy to heal current life issues. The medical and psychiatric fields are passing off too many fears, phobias, pains and aches as "psychosomatic" and are deluding and even killing patients with medication and pills that are not always necessary. The book includes many case studies headlined by symptoms that each subject was suffering. It gives the reader something to think about. Also included are three beautiful meditations that may also help readers regress themselves.

If people can be healed painlessly, through their own subconscious minds, then what does it matter if what their minds conjure up is the truth or not?
