Rating: Summary: Very enjoyable and easy to read book. Review: In my humble opinion, this is the best Sylvia Brown book available. This book is easy to read and hard to put down. Sylvia writes like she is your best friend and her books are very comforting. As to the historical inaccuracies mentioned by another reviewer I must respond that the records surrounding the Salem Witch trials are inaccurate, incomplete and biased. The records were written by the very men who judged the victims guilty and I believe that there is more to the story than will ever be told. Sylvia simply recounts what she is told by her patients and it is not up to her to correct or change any account. Altogether this is a delightful book that I will reread many times.
Rating: Summary: Past Lives, Future Healing Review: Just like with so many of Sylvia Browne's books, I couldn't put this one down until I was finished. Her easy-to-read, straight-forward style of writing makes you feel like she is in the room with you telling these amazing stories of self-discovery. And she is more inspiring spiritually than any preacher I have ever heard. This book is a must-read for people seeking alternate therapy or spiritual comfort. Thank you again Sylvia!
Rating: Summary: Interesting and provoking! I couldn't put it down! Review: Like many of Sylvia's books, this one just was as great! Sylvia discusses past lives and how personalities of people are carried over from lifetime to lifetime. Events such as how someone may have died may effect that person in another lifetime and it was interesting how Sylvia hypnotically regressed people through a past lifetime to discover things that person didn't know. It was a great book to understand phobias. Such as the fear of drowning or water. Perhaps Sylvia's client had drown in a past life and this time around it is pinpointed and resolved so that person can continue life more normally. Sylvia had put together a great collection of stories from her clients over the years to put together a book on how to become mentally stronger and deal with our fears, hostilities or negative influences to have a positive result. I couldn't put this book down and read it rather quickly as with other Sylvia Brown books, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Best Book by Sylvia Yet... Review: Past Lives, Future Healing - where medical science leaves off, or refers us when there is no help left. For anyone who has undergone hypnosis, and trusts their doctor, read this book for a real eye-opening experience. For anyone who has suffered from depression, and found no help from Physchiatrists, please read this book. I've read most of Sylvia's books, only a few I didn't like. But, this one is special! Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Provides real-life stories of people who have changed Review: Sylvia Browne's Past Lives, Future Healing presents the psychic's examination of how health and psychological problems have foundations in unresolved past lives. She provides real-life stories of people who have changed through understanding these previous lives.
Rating: Summary: What a relief! Review: Sylvia is unbelievably honest and easy to understand. She explains things so clearly and with such proof there is no denying what is waiting for us. Thanks to Sylvia, peoples lives will change after reading her books. She offers peace of mind and shows us "death" in this life is not to be feared.
Rating: Summary: Come to your senses people... Review: Thankfully I did not spend money on this book, but was staying at a friends house and was really bored one evening. She had this book laying on the nightstand and I picked it up wondering if Sylvia had gotten any better in her writing style and knowledge of any esoteric/metaphysical subjects, since her psychic predictions never amounted to much. My answer after reading this? NO NO NO. Would I ever spend money on another Sylvia Browne book or pay for a reading or a seminar with her? NO NO NO. And it is not because I do not believe in psychics or because I do not believe in reincarnation and Spirit guides and angels and all the other subjects Sylvia likes to think she is an authority on. On the contrary, it is because I do believe in all these things and have had enough real psychic readings and read enough truly knowledgeable authors that I know Sylvia Browne is not the one to be teaching anyone. This book is yet another effort on Sylvia's part to make the quick buck thinly veiled in some speedily spun stories about past lives that may entertain and dupe the beginner into thinking she actually knows what she is talking about. Like one previous reviewer stated. Her historical facts of Salem..FACTS PEOPLE...not 'claims" are wrong! Does this mean then that the whole theory of reincarnation is wrong? No. All it means is Sylvia has yet again picked up pen and put to paper without thought to what her lack of skills in the area of past lives could do to people. TURN THEM OFF, by thinking that if she is a crock of s***, then the whole idea must be. No wonder metaphysical concepts and Spirituality still have such a bad rap. The media has chosen Sylvia Browne as one of it's representatives? Does the book have some truth? Yes. The truth is we all reincarnate and it does affect our present lives. As for the rest of her 'me me' commentary and feeble attempt to be a past life hypnothereapist, don't bother. If you are the type of person easily satisfied with ANY answer or story as long it makes you feel warm and fuzzy and you don't like to think too much or question anything, then this book will satisfy your curiosity about past lives and you can add yourself to the blind follower list for this woman, but if you are wanting some documented proof or want to look at the subject of reincarnation and it's affect on your present life seriously, look elsewhere. Just like everything else Sylvia does, she makes wild claims, throws together some life stories and states she knows the answers to everything and throws in just enough humbleness to make it appear that she is a caring altruistic person. When nailed for some proof she somehow becomes vague and generic and 'just another human being like you or me and doesn't have all the answers'. Ok folks you got that? She wants you to buy her books and believe her information but doesn't want to be accountable for anything she claims?? Word of advice to the seeker. Before you waste your hard earned money on this book check out books by Micheal Duff Newton or Caroline Bowman or tapes by Dick Sutphen and see what real authorities on this subject can write and offer to you. Seeing all the people that are stuck on Sylvia Browne and her books for their Spiritual enlightenment scares me and makes me wonder if there is hope for this world after all.
Rating: Summary: Past Lives, Future Healing Review: This book is a wonderful example of the healing that is available to anyone, if they want it. The subject matter should not be taken lightly or played with for fun. This healing is very real, as Sylvia shows in her book. The examples are wonderful, with separated listings for physical, emotional problems and more. I've personally seen this type of healing work just as well and as easily as the book explains. Sylvia has her usual wonderful humorous comments throughout the book. But the subject matter is very well detailed and explained. She gives you hints along the way as to how to get the most healing from the experience. But please make sure that the hypnotherapist or psychologist/psychiatrist you elicit for this type of healing is qualified and trained to use it or your experience won't result in the healing you're looking for and your time and/or money is wasted. All in all, the book is very much worth reading whether you're looking for some new ideas in your practice, or whether you're reading it for future information or personal knowledge. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Entertaining but is it real? who knows Review: This book is definitely entertaining to read though I wonder if its real or not. I guess people believe in what they want to believe. I read this book with an open mind and thought it was pretty good. The last couple of pages were about how to find out about your own past life (teaching you how to hypnotize) ¡¦ well lets just say It didn¡¯t work for me. I thought it would be fun if it worked but guess you need to have a lot of patience or be naturally good at hypnotizing people to make it work (or maybe it doen't work at all). I gave up after reading through 2nd page of ¡°Relaxation¡± it¡¯s more aggravating then relaxing reading through all the mambo jumbo she wrote in the book. ¡¦Geez Bottom line is that the book it self was entertaining to read. The credibility of Sylvia Brown is questionable especially after checking out her website. It seemed like her focus was after the money rather than to help people.
Rating: Summary: One of Sylvia's better books Review: This book takes a slightly different direction than most of Sylvia's other books. She explains how souls remember previous experiences and thus develop phobias and other physical and mental disorders in their current and future lives. As with all of Sylvia's books, this text is easy to read and enjoyable.
