Rating: Summary: The Tedious Book Review: I thought that this book was really boring. In the first chapter all he did was describe the Baudelaires. Then in the next few chapters it wasn't very exciting. I expected some thing exciting to pop up in about the third chapter, but nothing happened. Then finally at the end there was something that was kind of exciting. I thought it was really weird that for lunch and dinner they had to chew gum. That doesn't even make any sense. Also that they tried to hypnotize Klaus. The part that I thought was funny was that Count Olaf had to dress up like a woman. I can't even imagine what he would look like because I bet it would be too much of an ugly site to see. I rated it a two and not a one because Count Olaf's disguise was really goo and that there was about one or two exciting and mysterious parts in it. That is all I have to say about this boring book. I would definately not read this book because it is really boring. If I gave this book a letter grade it would be a D-. P.H.
Rating: Summary: Once again, the three orphans prevail! Review: This series of books is as good as it gets - a wonderful read for parents and kids in tandem, as long as everyone knows in advance (gasp) that some character will meet a horrible fate in the end. The three orphans are Sunny, Klaus and Violet, each with a different niche in life. Sunny bites well, Klaus reads well, and Violet invents. Together, they are an awesome combination, and over the course of the series they do everything from cowing dangerous snakes to stealing a boat in a hurricane. I don't want to say more, except that the villain (Count Olaf) is wonderful - a bumbling fool who can never get his dastardly deeds exactly right, and always races off at the end of the book, with a threat that he will come back yet again. I'm through the fourth book, as is my entire family, including my aged mother and my sixth grader, and my mother wanted all the books for her birthday. That is how good these books are. And by the way, they are a great vocabulary tool.. Mr. Snicket explains every fancy word with a hysterical explanation of its meaning. And as Sunny would say, "Snafoo!" ("Snafoo" means, "I like Mr. Snicket for writing these books, and if you are adventurous, you should buy them.")
Rating: Summary: Okay, but repetitive Review: Lemony Snicket's first book, "A Bad Beginning," was a fun book and made me want to read more. However, four books later into the series, the storyline became extremely repetitive and predictable, and I found myself concentrating more on what the Baudelaires could have done if they had more common sense to save themselves and I spent less time enjoying the book. The plots have all been the same, and the books end up just being depressing.
Rating: Summary: Adams review Review: I'm reading a series of books called A Series Of Unfortunate Events. I'm reading the fourth book, which is called the miserable mill these books just get better and more exciting in every book. I think I'm going to read all nine of the books in the Unfortunate Events series.
Rating: Summary: You Gotta Read this Book!!!! Review: I have read almost the whole series!! Right now I am on the 6th book in the series, The Unfortunate Events. I recommend the whole series to anyone that likes a book that keeps you on the edge!
Rating: Summary: Getting boring Review: I'm reading the fifth in this series and these books are starting to get repetitive and predictable. While each book considered separately is good (very funny and clever), I find the series to be getting old. Maybe I'm too old for these books, but since I'm an obsessive person, I'll probably read them all. Since these are short and quick to read, I think paperback prices would be more reasonable. The saving grace for these books is the hidden truths in the narratives and the homor.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good Review: After reading the next few books this one just seemed kid of boring. It was not boring all the way through but, i have to admit it was boring in parts.

Rating: Summary: Love it Review: Loved the plot of book it kept me and my kids interested in the story from start to finish. However I hated the constant break from the story line for word definitions. I found myself skipping over the definitions as I read the story out loud to my kids.
