Summary: Very funny!
Review: I was laughing out loud several times! It is very funny. My wife and I would say "Yes, this has happened to us".

We are fans of "Mad About You", and this book in some ways reflects the show. It is written as a stand-up act. It talks about situations couples face, starting a little from the dating and going through a tiny part of having a baby. It also includes a lot of general comments, not strictly related to couples.

Highly recommended, a relaxing book. It even helps you to say "they are all the same" when you notice how similar some situations are to your own. That can be quite therapeutic sometimes.

Summary: Paul Reiser is NOT funny.
Review: If there was an option for 0 stars, I'd put that down. Paul Reiser is not funny on Mad about You, he is not funny as a stand-up comedian, and he is certainly not funny in this story. The dog Murray on Mad about You is funnier than Paul.

Summary: Mad About You, Revisited
Review: If you're familiar with and enjoy the series Mad About You, then you'll love Paul Reiser's book, Couplehood. As a prelude to Babyhood, Paul takes a strangely enough realistic look at how couples coexist on a daily basis--how they interact with each other privately (privately, as in away from other couples, and privately, as in each one's own thoughts) and how they "play" with other couples around them. Although I find myself relating to some of the silly-yet-seems-to-be-pretty-serious right now couple ordeals in life, I sometimes get a bit edgy with Paul's nonstop (please give your mouth a break) dialog in the book. I constantly picture him on the show machine-gunning down everyone around him with his chitter-chatter and just have to put the book down every now and then, just to give myself a break from it all. He's very me-myself-and-I on the show, and it seems to also come out in the book. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.

Summary: Funniest book I've ever read!
Review: In this book, Paul Reiser is as funny as he is on "Mad About You", if not funnier. You'll laugh from cover to cover, and when you're finished, you'll read it again. That's what I did. It'll make you realize the power of love and why we crave it so much. Whether you're in a relationship, was in a relationship, or want to be in a relationship, this book is your bible. It's a perfect present for couples who are about to get married and I highly recommend it to everyone

Summary: An original
Review: Okay. We liked the book, we also liked the show. And unlike the Seinfeld book, it is not just a rehash of the show. Although it may not prepare you for the real thing, the book should set off a few alarm bells if you are considering that commitment. An enjoyable read.

Summary: I laughed out loud at every page.
Review: Paul Reiser has long been a favorite comedian of mine. I love his witt and view of the everyday things that all of us feel to a certain degree. I recommend this book highly and will probably be getting every other book he writes

Summary: If you love Mad About You, you will be mad about this book!
Review: Paul Reiser has the relationship between man and woman nailed. The little nauances that drive us insane are perfectly described. I found myself saying "That is so true" many times.

If you enjoy the relationship between Paul and Jamie in Mad About You, you will love this book.

Couplehood is a great travel book. It is easy to read and entertaining to read in the car or on a plane.

Summary: Illumination of the commonplace
Review: Paul Reiser's book "Couplehood" is a comically insightful work that examines the commonplace marital idiosyncracies that fill the lives of those involved with life's greatest adventure and most delightful puzzle- marriage. He manages to shed a humorous light on all the things that couples tend to get frustrated about with one another; and by doing this, he allows the reader sit back and laugh at the "problems" of marriage. Problems can be dealt with better when they can be laughed at afterwards. There is one statement in the book that chrystallizes the book's message, and it is a statement I challenge all married couples to take to heart: "Enjoy the small things in life, because the big things may never come."

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The best humor in such a serious manner.
Review: Paul Reiser's Couplehood is a great read. He shows to be not only a wonderful comedian but an excellent lover. His knowledge on Coupledom in the 90's is oustanding. Reiser gives examples in a comic way, of how to make love - while making love. This book shows how easy it is to create love and how easy it was to delude it.
