Summary: Up to Ann Rule's Usual High Stanards
Review: When you pick up an Ann Rule book, you know that it will be first and foremost a good write. It is also a guarantee that it will be an exhaustingly well-researched bookk. This book is no exception.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Slow to grab the reader!
Review: I am a true Ann Rule fan, having read everything she has written. This book however has left me almost to the point of scanning over the pages waiting to get past more information than is needed. I normally read a book in one or two days depending on how many pages and interruptions. This book though finds me sitting at page 200 and I have been reading it off and on for a week.

Most readers of the book would have grasped the controlling nature and style of Tom Cappano way before now. It is a simple case of too much, too strung out information leading up to the actual important story line. It really doesn't take 200 plus pages for the reader to understand how this man manipulated and used women. Very boring thus far.

There is no doubt in my mind it will improve when the actual story line comes into play.

Summary: Thank you, Ann Rule!
Review: It's not necessary to get long-winded here. The book is excellent and, as is typical of Ann Rule, she gives the reader a good inside view of the perpetrator's mind. She also gives you good impressions of how the victims get involved in Tom Capano's web. There is always a lot of repetition in Rule's books but it is done in a kind of peeling-away-the-onion sort of way - I like that! A sad story but a great read!

Summary: And Never Let Her Go!
Review: I have lived in Delaware for over 26 years and have never read a book that describes us like Ann Rule does. This book not only tells of the horific murder that takes place in our state, but it tells of our history, and beauty and society. I come from the society in which Ann Rule writes about and she is right on target. If you don't live in Delaware after reading this book you will feel like you know us a little better. Thank you Ann Rule in a horific true story you make Delaware shine.

Summary: And Never Let Her Go: Thomas Capano, the Deadly Seducer
Review: This was an EXCEPTIONAL book. I pretty much only read true crime and I can't imagine reading a better page turning book. The author must grab me right away and Ann Rule does just that. I've just started another book of hers, Bitter Harvest, and I'm on the edge of my seat just after chapter one. Ann Rule...this woman is GOOD!

Summary: And Never Let Her Go
Review: I read alot of true crime and I am a fan of Ann Rule. Here she tells the story of a young woman who lost her mother while she was just alittle girl, who lived with an alcoholic father and had little money growing up. Anne Marie Fahey turned her sorrow into a productive and happy life filled with family and friends. She made one mistake though, she got involved with Thomas Capano. While the book gets a bit tedious at times, it is still interesting. One wonders how Deborah McIntyre could have been so dumb that she didn't realize Capano had other mistresses. Was she as innocent as she claims?

Summary: Deeply Nuanced Reporting
Review: I am a burned-out former paralegal from Wilmington, Delaware. I knew Thomas Capano and Anne Marie Fahey. I followed the trial closely, and I have read all four true crime books based on this case. Even though Ms. Rule is not a local reporter, her understanding of Wilmington's unique political and social climate is much deeper and more nuanced than any of the other authors'. I strongly recommend this book, which is both a clear-eyed study of this case and a real pleasure to read -- fast-moving and yet deeply felt.

Summary: Oh... Let's Say 3 1/2 stars
Review: This book, though a sad story, was an interesting read (with all due respect to the families and friends). However, I'm a little disappointed with the biased views of Ann Rule. In this case, it tends to be easy to "take sides" (probably true of all non-fiction 'works' and the downside of being a non-fiction author) but I believe it's the authors responsibility to present the good and the bad of all involved........ or at the very least, take a neutral stance. Let the reader form their own opinion of the 'characters'. NO ONE DESERVES TO DIE and Tom Capano has been sentenced to what he deserves but my questions are: Was Tom Capano the only "bad guy" and everyone else completely innocent? How desperately was Ann Marie trying to get away from him? Were her answers to his e-mails and her continuing to see him on occasion because she was afraid of him like the author says or was it because she was not 100% sure that she wanted to be away from him? AGAIN, I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH regardless of the answers to these questions, no one deserves to be put through what Ann Marie was before her death and especially the very fact that she was killed. These comments are completely about how the story is presented and not a commentary on the case itself. I think a lot of details could have been eliminated and more of the good and bad of everyone but overall a decent read. (P.S. It's not "Bitter Harvest" - the best book I ever read)

Summary: Fascinating Story
Review: A few days ago, I finally finished ..And Never Let Her Go, and all I can say is -- WOW! What a book! I've read several of Ann's books and this one, along with In the Name of Love , is my favorite. You've GOT to read this one!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Ann Rules' Experience a Plus
Review: It is unusual for Ann Rule to write on such a widely covered story, but her experience as a author of true crime books is again apparent. Having read the Vanity Fair article and another book on the subject, I thought there would be nothing be gained from reading this book. She has captured every detail about an overly controlling murderer who had to have his own way even to the point of weakening his defense in court. Her sympathetic portrayal of the many victims in this book including Tom Capano's daughters and Ann Marie's family reminds us of how one man's actions can affect so many.
