Rating: Summary: Will we have a reprise with the recent missing intern case? Review: I loved this book - it's such a cap to justice. If there was anything that could make a difference, it was a book that vividly depicted the loveable, viciously-abused victim. I really felt I knew Ms. Fahey. Marvelous, right-there writing. One can only wonder if Ms. Rule is sharpening her pencils in preparation for another book on the same subject...the lovely, vulnerable young intern, seduced by a powerful married man in government/politics, and gone missing suddenly, out of the blue. Scary, huh?
Rating: Summary: Ann Rule does it again! Review: I thought this book was fascinating and well written. Ann Rule does an excellent job of covering the whole story.
Rating: Summary: Ok, but, too long Review: Interesting story weighed down by the fact that this book is way too long..Heck, we don't even get to the murder for 300 pages. I understand background info. is important in painting the portrait of Anne Marie Fahey & Tom Capano, but, i found myself skimming over pages until something happened. Also, Fahey is given very little responsibility for an affair with a married man..No one deserves her fate, but, Rule almost canonize's Fahey, when in fact she led far from a perfect life...That said, Capano is one sick guy & it's good to see him get his comeuppance.. I've read other Rule books & found them good..This one didn't do it for me.
Rating: Summary: Let It Be Known Review: This book is magnificently detailed in description. It is as though you are in Anne Marie Fahey's shoes and living her life. You read through her life so you get the same aspect of her views and how she works. It gives you a bone-chilling mood in which it makes you turn pages. Anne Rule really plays out the scenorio when the chrononlogy is played out in each persons role. There is an immense suspense when the mystery of this true crime is unraveled. This is my first book that I read by Anne Rule, she has a distinct way in describing the story this is seen in every action that the characters portrayed.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book! Review: Completely shocking cannot even to begin to describe this book. I had to do a report in my English 2 class and this book caught my eye and I'm sure glad it did. When I was introduced to Anne Marie Fahey and her family, I was concerned for her safety, although this being a book about murder, I already knew what was going to happen. Ann Rule writes very well and I commend her excellent effort put into this book.
Rating: Summary: Complete and Exciting Thriller Review: This book was one of the best that I have read in a while. The way Ann Rule completely and fully describes the intricate details of each character and the way that their individual lives and backgrounds cross paths with Thomas Capano is just extraordinary. This book keeps you turning the pages and pulls you into a world that has nothing to do with you at first and soon enough has you feeling, relating, and believing that you are part of the story. I enjoyed this book and will definitely continue to read Ann Rule publications from here on out.
Rating: Summary: ANN RULE - THE BEST OF THE BEST ! Review: You HAVE to read "And Never Let Her Go" a true page turner. You can't beat Ann Rule for putting together a case of True Crime. For those of us who live in a safe and loving environment she has a way of making us understand HOW these kinds of horrible situations can come about. How people can read a book by Ann Rule and make derogatory comments we will never understand. They are certainly among the very few and a distinct minority. The trained professionals; the FBI, Police Departments etc. have a high respect for her accuracy, her sensitivity and her superb and outstanding skills as an author. Those of us who are among her millions of fans who are knowledgeable of current events AND our surroundings appreciate her books for the masterpieces that they are in the writing of True Crime. I say you will NEVER be disappointed by one of her books, I have them all and would not part with any one of them. Those who 'just don't get it' should be looking for something other than "True Crime". A good "Western" or some kind of fiction might hold their attention. Then of course there are the dinosaurs that think a woman shouldn't be writing.... period. To all of those.... Go back to your caves or your therapists. Keep up the good work Ann because there are millions of us who appreciate you.
Rating: Summary: If you're looking for exploitive material.... Review: you won't find it here. Ann Rule went out of her way to show respect to all involved (even to Capano himself, to a certain degree). In my opinion, the book was sensitive, informative, sad, incredible. I do think that Debbie M. is not as innocent as portrayed, but Ann didn't go too far out of the way to absolve her. I just don't get some of the negative reviews. One person (2 or so down) at first complained that Ann was trying to let the facts speak for themselves and that wasn't good enough. In the next paragraph, he says that Ann needs to step back and let the story speak for itself. Huh? Another person said that the other books on the subject (by different authors) looked better. Yeah, if more exploitive Jerry Springer stuff is your thing, go for it. Someone complained that there wasn't enough action and the dialogue was bland, and that they were used to reading fiction and this book was horrible. Um, this isn't fiction. You want action every two pages and snappy dialogue, look elsewhere. This is real life, baby.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down Review: Living in Delaware, it surprised me that I knew so little about this story. When the tv movie came on earlier this month, I was glued to the tv. I then borrowed the book from a friend and read it in just a couple of days. A strong recommendation to anyone who loves to read.
Rating: Summary: Ann Rule is addictive Review: "And Never Let Her Go" is not the easiest of reads -- none of Ann Rule's books are, but I always find them worth the effort. She describes in great detail the backgrounds of the people involved, and I come away so intimately acquainted with everyone that I almost feel like a voyeur. Her books are addictive, and I find myself both repulsed and fascinated by my interest in the horrible crimes and twisted people she is describing. This one was not my favorite, but still, a wonderful effort and although thick with detail, Ann Rule adds a personal touch and much subtle commentary that make this much more than a factual crime story.
