Summary: Good, not great book
Review: It seems that the only readers giving "And Never Let Her Go,"bad reviews are those from Delaware and N.J. Do they know something we on the West Coast don't know? I enjoyed this book, but didn't feel it was one of Anne Rules best, possibly because the case has been written about by so many other authors there wasn't much I didn't know about the case before reading Ms Rules rendition. I thought the truest scenario in the book was when Tom Capano was being questioned by the prosecution about how he involved his four daughters in his devious and disgusting drive to free himself from the crime he committed. He stood up in court roaring with rage and anger, evil personified. I saw then what Anne Marie Fahey must have seen right before she was killed. It was unbelieveable. I was fascinated by Tom Capano, his total self-centeredness, narcissism, and controlling behavior. Anne Marie Fahey came across as a lost and damaged human being, not above duplicitous behavior, lying to protect herself from judgement from the very people who could have helped her. I felt tremendous compassion for her boyfriend Michael, who didn't have a clue that the woman he was involved with was starving herself to death and sleeping with a married man. I never got the impression she really loved Michael, only that she knew she had to stop living the destructive life she was living, and he seemed a safe harbor. It didn't surprise me that the last quarter of the book made no mention of Michael. He seems to have wanted to just drift away from the scandal he unknowingly became a part of. All in all a fascinating book, if not "the best" of Anne Rule.

Summary: Very disappointed in this book!
Review: Ann, what happened? You are my favorite true crime author but this book doesn't have "it" Reminds me of 5 or 6 stories all crammed into one book. But I'll be waiting for your next book!!

Summary: A real pager turner with behind the scenes information.
Review: I found this book fascinating and hard to put down. The characters all come to life and show a tragic and strange story of all those involved. All aspects of the book were informative and involved showing the personalities of the characters. Ann Marie's memory will haunt long after the book is put away. I recommend it to anyone interested in true crime and sociopathic behavior. Ann Rule has done it again. This is one of her best!!!

Summary: A Chilling Account of a Manipulative Sociopath.
Review: I have read all of Ann Rule's books, and this is one of her best. Thomas Capano is an evil animal who will resort to anything to keep his concubines intact. This book is difficult to set down, right to the last page.

Summary: Ho Hum. Nothing New was said
Review: This book doesn't work on many levels. First it triesdesperately to fit the book into a mold as if it were a soap operatear jerker novel. Real life is often more complex and the Capano case was far more complex than the breakdown offered by Ann Rule. By trying to pigeon hole people into cliches, i.e. Debby MacIntyre "The wronged woman" and Anne Marie Fahey, "The Victim" and Tom Capano "Evil Incarnate" Ms Rule misses the subtleties of life. Things are never as black and white nor as simple to understand as Ann Rule's long and pedantic prose pretends to be. With all due respect to those on the west coast who've praised this account of the Capano case (which appears at time to be more of a fictionalization in the same vein as the recent biography of Ronald Reagan) those people who do not know the case cannot know to what great lengths this stylistic exercise in trying to write a true-life Jacquelin Suzanne novel short changes what really happened. It is a shame, a detriment to the truth and very plodding in its execution.

Summary: Real spell binder, clear, concise, excellently descriptive
Review: I just finished the book and I'm pleased to say it is Ann Rule's best work since, "The Stranger Beside Me".

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Rule's best book ever!
Review: A brilliant portrayal of the Capano case and of the vulnerable, trusting women who were deceived and then destroyed by this charming, manipulitive man who only cared for himself. A "must read" book that transends the story itself to speak to women everywhere who have been betrayed by such a man. My highest recommendation!

Summary: This is Ann Rule at Her Very Best
Review: If you liked Small Sacrifices, you will just love And Never Let Her Go. I don't understand some of the reviews that said this was a hastily written book. What it is, is a detailed glimpse into not only the victim and her her family - but also into the life and circumstances of her murderer. Who could ask for more? By the time we get to the trial we feel like we know these people well and are more than interested in how it all turns out. I very nearly read this book in one huge gulp...the only thing that kept from from rushing through it was dreading the last page. I know what I'll be doing in another 6 months or so...re-reading this book.

Summary: Ann Rule has done it again.
Review: In her recent book, ...AND NEVER LET HER GO, she has chronicled the background and actions of attorney Tom Capano's narcissistic need to control the lives of an entire community, members of his family and especially the lives of the women who loved and trusted him. The murder of his long-time mistress, who wanted to break away from him, led him to betray all those who loved, trusted and respected him. Rule's in-depth account of this tragic episode and her detailed accounts of the subsequent investigation, arrest and trial vividly illustrate how Tom Capano's actions united the family of his victim. While at the same time, his lies, deceit, and duplicity turned his brothers against him and each other completely dividing his own family. ...AND NEVER LET HER GO is a story that all women and some men can identify with, and is yet another Ann Rule writing triumph to be read and enjoyed by her numerous fans.

Summary: Another page turner from Ann Rule
Review: Ann Rule once again gives her readers a page turner that they can't put down. Through her words her readers can feel the very emotions that drove Anne Marie Fahey, Debby McIntyre, and Thomas Capano. You could not finish this book without wanting to reach out and comfort the family and friends of Anne Marie. I have been a fan of Ann's for many years, always looking forward to her next book. She did not disappoint me with this one.
