Rating: Summary: Nondual mysticism for everyone Review: The New Revelations continues Walsch's amazing capacity, through God or otherwise, to explain nondual mysticism to Westerners. Contrary to one critic below, it is NOT simply a re-working of Hinduism. All time-honored religious traditions have a nondual school. Though the beliefs of Advaita Vedanta (which is a branch of Hinduism), Taoism and Buddhism all describe a nondual Divine, so does Jesus, particularly in the Gospel of Thomas. What does nondual mysticism say? God is all there is, and you are That. Hence, you and God are "not-two" (nondual). You (and every other sentient being) are Divine Awareness watching phenomenon made of that Awareness. Now, of course, this brings up a lot of questions. Why don't I realize that I am God? If we are all God, why do we do bad things. Why does God bother to manifest as myself and the world? With The New Revelations and his other "With God" books (particularly Communion with God), Walsch answers every question I've raised here with panache.
Rating: Summary: The Guide to a New Model of Spirituality Review: I loved Conversations with God books 1, 2, and 3. I have done a ton of reading and I've never found such a broad, advanced, and relatively accessible cosmology. Neale's last book, Communion with God, is a philosophical masterpiece that explains our confused world at its deepest levels. I've read a lot of philosophy, metaphysics and theological books. The Conversation with God books contain some of the purest truths you can find anywhere and this new book is every bit as good as the others. In The New Revelations, Neale and God continue to deliver amazingly valuable insights. This book is the most practical and the most challenging of the Conversatons with God series. It asks us to act, to become spiritual activists, to help change the world, and potentially to save it. God says that the difficulties we are experiencing with our world right now are not simply political, or religious. Our fundamental beliefs are out of wack. God is diligently non-judgemental here and asks us to drop the concept of right and wrong. Righteousness is part of the problem. God asks us to look at things pragmatically. Instead of my beliefs being right, and your's being wrong, God suggests that we simply look at the results we're getting compared to the results we want. I just returned from a weekend seminar with Neale at the Omega Institute in NY state which centered on the messages in this book. Neale asked us to become Spiritual Activists, to help others to examine their beliefs. He wants you to post the 9 New Revelations and the 5 Steps to Peace everywhere, like a modern day Martin Luther - challenge the status quo. There is no question, this is DEFINITELY great stuff. If we all do as it suggests, it WILL change the world for the better. The only problem I have is that Neale plays dumb and hands God a lot of questions that are obviously setups. Neale is much more advanced than he pretends to be here. I suppose he does this to make the material more accessible to a wider range of readers but I know he's more advanced than that. The philosophical side of me wishes Neale would raise the level of the dialog, but I'm sure that would make this less interesting to the average potential reader.
Rating: Summary: Hinduism updated for Americans Review: After reading various works from Hinduism, I find this book a rather bold attempt at americanizing them. The author does write in upbeat fashion and his material seems clear and it does hit the metaphysical upper levels about mid way into the writings. I would guess to most Americans the material would appear new and unique. However, a rose by other name is still a rose. New cover but same old theology.
Rating: Summary: Our Beliefs not working Review: While some may look at this book as a continuation of Neale's new ageish philosophy which engenders itself to many current "self aware books and writings" it is different in that it asks if what we are doing is working given our stated Intent. The Intentions of Peace, harmony and prosperity for all. Unlike the somewhat soft tone of the other books Neale has written this one takes aim at the beliefs we hold to. Clearly shows how those beliefs promote our behaviors. Holding to the beliefs as we do it is no wonder we continue to have wars, poverty and starvation. A very hard look at what most religions are about and what the promote. How their teachings help keep many in fear. The premise is that religions since their inception have told us that we are separate from God. That only through their teachings can we hope to reunite with God. The three major faiths all tell us we are sinners from birth and are in need of redemption. Their particular form of redemption. We are told we are not only separate from God but each other and the world around us. The book makes it clear that we need not get rid of religions but transform them into offering much more. Creating a new spirituality. God in the book also makes it clear if we continue as we are it is problematic that our race will not continue. Though many will write the book off as new age dribble any thinking and feeling person will see it offers many truths. When I meet such a person all I need do is ask them, "is what we are doing now working and if not why not"? For those who have never looked into metaphysical thought this could be a great starter book. If nothing else it will provide an opportunity for friends and family to have some very interesting conversations. Neale started writing this book soon after 9/11.

Rating: Summary: Less Impressive than Will Shad's Books Review: This book was OK as far as Walshs' books go, but still a little too unrealistic in its views. If you want more realistic opinions on terrorism and religion pick up Will Shad's 'The Truth: Will Shad's Conversations With God' or 'Whole Truth: Will Shad's Continuing Conversations With God'. Neale is impressive in that he can simplify things, and so his books are reccommended for younger readers but Shad gets more in depth and complex, thus are better suited for adults.
Rating: Summary: NEALE DONALD WALSCH'S BOOKS ARE INSPIRATIONAL Review: Neale's books are so inspirational that he inspired me, through his books...I believe Neale took some pebbles and threw them into a pond. The pond is the world. The pebbles were his books. And that caused ripples in the water go go out in all directions. And one of those ripples hit me. And thus it inspired me to makes ripples of my own. And I hope those ripples will reach you who will inspire others. May these books raise a whole new mass consciousness in the world. Thankyou Neale, for your inspirations. And thanks be to God.
Rating: Summary: If you care about the world, challenge your beliefs. Review: In his book Freedom from the Known, Krishnamurti writes, "For centuries we have been spoon-fed by our teachers, by our authorities, by our books, our saints. We say, 'Tell me all about it-what lies beyond the hills and the mountains and the earth?' and we are satisfied with their descriptions, which means that we live on words and our life is shallow and empty. We are second-hand people." One of the things I think is so wonderful about this book is that it offers a place to start while still emphasizing and offering a way to discover the truth for ourselves; it is a signpost to truth. Do not overlook this, especially if you have read other CWG books and find yourself saying, "I have heard all this 'God is communicating with everyone all the time' stuff before." This book repeats a lot of the material presented in earlier CWG books, and although some points are simply reiterated, plain and simple, others are made more accessible, and the last few chapters really get good. The explanation of how to receive God's communication was presented in such a way that I was able to get closer to God than I had been before. If you realize that humanity is facing a crisis right now, the way I see it you have two options: you can say you "want" to do something about it but don't have the power, because you can't control everyone else, or you can claim the power to change the world as your own. You can choose not to take responsibility for the environmental destruction and warfare on our planet, or you can see the plight of the world as your own, and act on the enormous opportunity there is right now to change the entire course of history by becoming the "first domino" in your circle of influence. Yet do not do it because you are afraid of death (life never ends) but because you love life. If you are willing to step up to this task, know that lasting change cannot be achieved on the level of behavior alone; you must change many of your beliefs. Do not wait on this: your mind will ALWAYS need more time, but your soul screams, "NOW!" Do not forget who you are.
Rating: Summary: Peace is just a choice away Review: As usual, Neale Donald Walsch gets to the heart of things with his Conversations With God. This time, he shows us how what is needed is a massive change in our belief system. He writes clearly and with such common sense that if applied, an Eden-like paradise is probable. He even shows how we can begin to help create these much needed changes on a local level. There is hope!
Rating: Summary: Impressive Review: This book is an easy and clear read, though past the middle point the ideas get progressively thick and higher in concept. In my opinion, that's not a bad trait, but I include the comment just to give a fair warning. The New Revelations is guidebook for anyone with the braveness to give some of the enclosed information a chance. I personally believe it has the potential to contribute to an individual's spiritual growth on a very large scale: it was a very impactful experience taking me - a slow reader- just three days to finish. It was pretty hard to put down. Definitely, this new conversation is speaking more directly and more severely (with good and scary messages) than ever before in the series. Highly recommended...
