Summary: Great Small Town Murder Plot!
Review: This one really had me guessing, I must say. I usually don't have much problem guessing the killer's identity, but this time I was truly baffled and honestly shocked when the person was revealed! Impressed too, cause Ms. Roberts used a most unusual person and I admire her for trying this approach! Who would've thought?! Also my first book by this author and I will certainly start reading all by her!

~In a small Southern town called Innocence in the middle of the swamps of Mississippi, evil is lurking. A brutal and merciless killer is claiming the lives of the town's most beautiful women. People are scared for in their mist lurks a killer, a killer so vile and evil that the town is left second guessing each other's personalities. Is it their own next-door neighbor?

A world-famous concert violinist, Caroline Waverly is trying to find some peace and quiet in her hectic life when she decides to leave her secure life in Philadelphia and stroll into her grandmother's house in Innocence, Mississippi after she has died. Caroline doesn't expect to be caught up in a horrible manhunt for a serial killer! Or to be seduced by the town 'playboy' the infamous Tucker Longstreet!

Tucker is used to fast women and even faster cars, he has no time for dallying with 'good girls' until he nearly crashes his 'fast car' into the new neighbor down the road, a cute blonde by the name of Caroline Waverly. He knew her grandmother since he was a boy and cannot believe his eyes! 'Caro,' as she was known in town as, had grown into a stunningly sexy blonde that seemed to take his breath away until she opened her mouth...she hated 'men like him.' 'Playboys,' 'Rakes', that sort of men. But Tucker wasn't to be daunted, he wanted her and he would do anything to get her. He would use his infamous Longstreet charm to woo her, except Tucker realized, it wasn't working on her...

Caroline has her hands full of this man when she is horribly broguth back to earth with the discovery of yet another body, this time on her land and in her lake. Tucker's latest girlfriend...was the roguish man she had started to find attractive the serial killer? Weird that all the women were ex-lovers of his...

I truly did not realize who the killer was and was honestly in shock at the realization! WOW! A definate twist on this neatly done story that kept you guessing and on edge! The small-town aspect was the thing that kept you wondering in anxiety of who the person was. When you think you figured the person out, you are proved wrong and then you have to start over and find yourself wondering who in the world it could be! Is it the person you LEAST expected??? Truly gripping and different! The romance was great and the chemistry was real. I love the way Ms. Roberts wrote the dialog as it would really have been between the townsfolk and the things they really do behind closed doors. I am in awe of her talent, she brought this story to life for me. A real clincher, read it on a cold and snowy night with a hot cup of chocolate...but keep a notepad for your suspects and make sure you haven't dismissed anyone before REALLY thinking about it.... :)

Summary: A Suspensful and Entertaining Novel
Review: This was an excellent story. Caroline's search for herself and Tucker's search for innocence. The book had so many surprises and twist! It drew me in fast. The end for me was totally unexpected which made it that much better. Read it, I'm sure that you'll love it as much as I did.

Summary: One of my all time favorites!
Review: "Carnal Innocence" is one of my favorite Nora Roberts books, and I devoured it in record time because I couldn't bear to put it down!
Caroline Waverly is a famous concert violinist who has come to the quiet town of Innocence, Mississippi for some rest and relaxation. But a murderer is on the loose in this sleepy little town and the third victim's body is found in the pond behind Caroline's home.
Caroline meets and is soon swept off her feet by Tucker Longstreet, a long-time resident of Innocence, who unfortunately is one of the prime suspects!
The relationship between Caroline and Tucker continues to develop as the whole town remains on edge, looking for the brutal murderer who lives amongst them. There are several suspects, but the real murderer was a huge surprise to me.
This book was a top-notch mystery and a lovely romance. NR manages to blend these two elements perfectly into one captivating story.
This is a suspenseful and satisfying read and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Summary: Nora Roberts .........What can I say? She excels again.
Review: Nora Roberts does it again with another great read.

In "Carnal Innocence" the writer beautifully meshes romance and mystery into a wonderful page-turner from start to finish. It has you constantly guessing who the killer is, with the frequent twists and turns of the plot.

You will fall in love with Caroline and Tucker, and you will absolutely love Cousin Lulu.On the other hand you won't be able to wait to see the back of Austin.

If you have never read a Nora Roberts book before, this is a good one to start with.

As an avid reader of all genres of fiction, I recommend this book and I assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Summary: Unexpected Delight
Review: I've read many of Nora Roberts books and this one is an unexpected delight. The story is a romantic murder mystery where high class, wealthy violinist meets a Mississippi Delta rich Casanova. The hero in this story is unassuming, old money wealthy, Southern boy suspected of murdering his past flings. Roberts maintains the mystery of the actual killer thoughout the story without damaging the romance building between the hero & heroine. If you like Nora Roberts, add this to your must read list.

Summary: Beautifully Written
Review: Innocence, Mississippi is a small town where nothing ever happens, until the mutilated bodys of women start to turn up.
Caroline Waverly was a talented, worn out, concert violinist who needed to rest. Moving to her deceiced grandparents house seemed like a brilliant idea. The childhood memory was as endearing to her as it was terrifing to her demanding mother. When Caro discovered the horribly deformed body of a woman in the back pond her life is turned completly around.
Tucker Longstreet was a smalltown man and inexplicably drawn to the small lovely Caro with the perfect grammer and impecable manners. His womanizing ways forbid him to leave her alone, so there was nothing to do but chase after her.
As the murders continue the two are drawn together in what could only be a summer fling. Right?

Summary: A who dun it with a dash of romance.
Review: Someone in the sleepy little Mississippi town of Innocence is far from innocent. Women are turning up dead and that is just not healthy. Body number three has just shown up in the pond behind Caroline Waverly's home and she's wondering how much rest she is going to get in this little town off the beaten track.

Caroline is a famous concert violinist and has come to stay in her grandmother's house when she realizes that still waters run deep and more goes on in this backwater town than meets the eye. She is swept off her feet by Tucker Longstreet, one of the town's favored sons, unfortunately he is one of the prime suspects. What is a girl to do?

I thought I had it all figured out as I devoured the pages but was pleasantly surprised by the end when I was completely wrong. A good mystery to fill your summer days. Kelsana 7/6/01

Summary: Great Story But Too Much Swearing
Review: As usual, I loved this Nora Roberts book. The characters were terrific..you could feel the sparks fly. But if you don't like the Lord's Name being used in vain...repeatedly, be careful. They weren't on every page but on some pages, they are used multiple times..Please Ms. Roberts..clean up the language some..Faithful readers don't need to hear His name in vain..Your books are Wonderful without it.

Summary: Exciting and Captivating
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book and found it difficult to put the book down. While some books have a slow start, Carnal Innocence draws you into the storyline right from the beginning.

The descriptive writing makes it seems as you are actually seeing the events as they happen. If not made for a movie already, I feel this storyline will make an excellent movie.

Great writing Nora Roberts
