Summary: Unusual...
Review: I didn't expect to read the whole thing. After the first couple of pages and the dramatic "take off" I was sure that I would put the book down very soon.....but, I didn't...and I'm glad. It wasn't an Alex Cross book, but, nonetheless, it did have a really good story line and almost believable characters!!! I have only read 2 of Patterson's books before and this took me by surprise, but I was pleasantly surprised... The pages flew by!

Review: Judging from the reviews, you either love this book or hate it. I hated it. I never accepted the premise -- winged children????? But on top of that, there were just too many holes -- at the end, they just went off & lived happily ever after??? Come on .......

Summary: A extraodinary fantasy, though unexepectively disappointing
Review: Expecting another thriller along the lines of Pattersons previous books, i was some what disappointed at the topic that he chose to write on. However, by opening the readers eyes to a whole new world of genetic engineering, and the real threat it could be to us in the future, did give the book an element of excitement and danger. Although, I think the issue of children having wings was too fictitional and gave the reader the sense of fantasy more than reality. Still a excellent read if you haven't read any other of Patterson's novels.

Summary: not up to expectations
Review: Hello, I have read this book and I am quite disappointed. True, it is quite interesting and somewhat a departure for the author, but it just doesn't "grab" you like his other books. Basically, the book is about a scientific experiment conducted that has left two children with wings. A manhunt is conducted in order to "put these two children to sleep" and somehow, a vet (who is also dealing with her own personal tragedy) stumbles upon this whole issue as well. My personal opinion is that the author tries too hard to grab the attention of the reader, at the expense of the plot. It is not a bad book, just something which falls way short of expectations. I would still recommend "Kiss the girls" as the best book by the author and would rather give "When the wind blows" a miss.

Summary: Not a disappointment
Review: After reading the reviews and noticing readers either loved it or hated it I decided to wait for the paperback. I have enjoyed Patterson's previous books so I didn't want to be disappointed. However it was given to me as a gift. I couldn't put it down. It is not a literary triumph nor is it a tough detective novel, but it is an imaginative, creative, wonderful adventure. If you don't like the story you have NO SOUL!

Review: This book starts off very strangely; but, after the first few pages, it's impossible to put down. You must continue, you'll want to know what happened to bring the characters together. Once you find out you want to know where it will all end. Trust me it's a great read.

Summary: Patterson's best to date!
Review: This is the best book to date that James Patterson has written. As much as I love Alex Cross books, When the Wind Blows is extremely well written and equally suspenseful. Renegade FBI agent Kit Harrison (aka Tom Brennan) is the key figure in a complicated plot that seems too surreal to believe. Yet the advances of modern science make one stop to think about the horrific possibilities of this book. This is a first rate read. I read it on a flight from Dallas to Seattle and couldn't put it down.

Summary: Totally Disappointing Is My Feeling on This Book
Review: I was so disappointed with this book that I could only read half of it. Maybe I was expecting something similar to his other books but, whatever the reason, I could not finish it. This book seemed like something along the line of what John Saul would write but only not as good.

Summary: Outstanding book of courage and hope
Review: The story of Max is absolutely stunning! This book too is just a constant reminder of how far (which is way too far) that man wants to go in genetic engineering. Frannie O'Neill and Kit Harrison are excellent characters showing the best of human struggle, survival, and the inate believe that truth should be known. I am making this rather brief, as I really think that EVERYONE should read "When The WInd Blows" by James Patterson, just to fuel their imagination, their hope, and sense of purpose! Relax and enjoy, may we all have wings one day! Way to go - Mr. Patterson! DO it again! :) A big thank you, and what a wonderful early Christmas present!
