Summary: Definitely a different Patterson here!
Review: I haven't finished this book yet but thought I'd share my thoughts since I started it last night and got 1/2 way through it pretty easily. I can't make up my mind whether I like it or not! It's an easy read but when you think of the Alex Cross novels, it bites! I DO like the short chapters and the limited characters. I have a feeling I will finish it ASAP but I'm just hoping it will wrap up in a perfect ending and not leave you hanging. I like the characters with the exception of fairy girl. Not into that. However, I seriously considered calling in sick just to read it in one sitting. Looking forward to finishing but I'm apprehensive about how I'll feel when I'm done. If this is your first Patterson novel, you will be overwhelmed by his other books which are much better! Can't wait for the next Alex Cross!

Summary: Interesting, once one realizes it's more science fiction
Review: As an avid reader of James Patterson's previous books, it took me a long time to get into this book, while I read other books...before I finally read the last two-thirds of this book. Eventually, I got into it...but it wasn't what I expected from Patterson and maybe I was part of the problem, because I was so accustomed to his previous writings.

Summary: BAD! BAD! BAD!
Review: I have read James Pattterson, but this did not feel like one of his books. I wonder who really wrote it? It was an old Dean Koontz story, but not nearly as well written. Save your money or, if you haven't yet, read one of his Alex Cross books.

Summary: Not as good as Patterson's Alex Cross series.
Review: This book is more fantasy/thriller. I enjoyed Patterson's Alex Cross series. I couldn't put those down. The characters in When the Wind Blows are more one dimensional and the ending was a little sugary for Patterson.

Summary: Thrilling, capitivating, beautiful and suspenseful. Loved it
Review: Patterson has a way with words. He doesn't weigh you down with extraneous descriptions yet he paints a vivid picture. For those who enjoy a quick, well-written suspenseful thriller with a rhythm that moves you along, this is it! The beauty of the winged children made me feel that I was caught between a fairy tale and a scientific suspense thriller. I was not disappointed that this was not an Alex Cross novel. After all everyone deserves a little time off.

Summary: Interesting..........
Review: Not one of Pattersons best books, although it was very entertaining and a break from the usual Patterson novel. I enjoyed the book to say the least but I am also ready for the next Alex Cross novel.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: excellent quick read
Review: Not the standard Alec Cross read, but if you like to read a book in one sitting, this is it.Page 413 has an error. He mentionsa 0200 meeting which is 2:00 AM,I believe he ment 1400, which is 2:00 PM.

Summary: An imaginative book - anything is possible in science today!
Review: OK - I understand the disappointment some people experienced because it was not Patterson's "typical" Alex Cross read but come on - give the guy some credit! I found the book to be interesting and a page turner just like all his others. After reading the first few pages about a flying girl I thought "oh boy" but ended up being pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoying this book. If you have an imagination and like change (from Alex Cross)once in a while then you will really like this book.

Summary: the best book i ever read
Review: This really touched me in a way where I wanted to cry this book is high action low profanity and tons of romance you don't know how much i love this book because I know what it is like to be a twelve year old with WINGS.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: What happened to James Patterson?
Review: What a disappointment this book was! I've enjoyed Patterson's other books but this one was just not believeable. The premise about children with wings is silly but what really disappointed me was the childish prose. The characters were cardboard cut-outs with little depth. I decided that Patterson must have had to get a book done to meet some contract deadline and this flimsy fantasy was the result. Beware James - you could become the next Harold Robbins (started out good but became a hack).
