Rating: Summary: Interesting Childish Read Review: Even though I'm 22 years old, I felt like a kid again when I read When the Wind Blows by James Patterson. I heard that he was a good author, but I didn't like the psychopathic serial killer themes of his previous novels. When I read the back of this book it sounded quite interesting. Then I read it. The only promising thing about this book was Mr. Patterson's biological research. Very quick read, but it looks like the author should stick with serial killers. It's what he does best.
Rating: Summary: A VERY DISAPPOINTING BOOK. Review: I REALLY WISH I COULD SAY I ENJOYED THIS BOOK EVEN A LITTLE. IT IS A BOOK WHICH HAS VERY LITTLE ENTHUSIASM AND DOES NOT GET TO THE POINT OR ENDING IN ANY SPECIFIC PATTERN. I HAVE BEEN AN AVID FAN FOR A GOOD MANY YEARS. GO BACK TO ALEX CROSS IMMEDIATELY DO NOT PASS GO DO NOT COLLECT $200.00. ALEX COME HOME//////////
Rating: Summary: Disappointing story and overly simple language. Review: I couldn't wait to read the latest Patterson novel. What an unpleasant surprise. I cannot believe this book was written by the same author who wrote Kiss the Girls, etc. In fact, I looked to see if maybe another person co-wrote this book. The language is feminine, as if a woman wrote the book. The sentences are written on a 5th grade level - boring. I finished the book because I was curious to see how it ended. The entire story is too far-fetched. Hopefully Patterson will get back to writing for an adult audience with his next book.
Rating: Summary: A terrific and different love story/action/suspence to write Review: Since I first read Kiss the Girls I have been an James Patterson Fan. I've read all of his books except for the ones out of print and loved every one but before I didn't like love stories until When tthe Wind Blows. If it wasn't meant to be a love story I took it in as one and appreciated it and the children with wings was an added bonus since nowadays in the medical field anythings possible PLEASE write about Frannie,Kit,& Max!!!!!
Rating: Summary: It can't be James Patterson Review: Is somebody else using Mr.Patterson's name? If this book had been the first of his that I had read, I would never have read another one. I haven't finished the book yet because once I put it down I do anything not to pick it up again.
Rating: Summary: This book is one 'page-turner' that I certainly recommend! Review: Being a fanof James Patterson I admit I may have a view that is more likely to commend the works of james Patterson than others, but I found this book thoughrely enjoyable. It is a break from 'norm' as it portrays a story of a super natuarel girl who in my veiw plays the main part. Once I picked up this book I litterely did not put it down and enjoyed it right to the end!
Rating: Summary: Patterson writes typically predictable catnap of a thriller Review: Although I began "When the Wind Blows" with high hopes, so to speak, I was repeatedly disappointed with the slapstick, uninspired style Patterson used througout the book. The premise is inviting enough; greedy geneticists combine DNA of a girl and a bird, creating a virtual phenomen. Frannie, a Colorado vet, works with Kit, an inner-demon-battling FBI agent, to discover the hidden past of the child. Sadly, Patterson destroys the plot in more ways than one, never letting his moral issues with human experiments go past an angry "Damn them" from one of his beautiful characters. The manner of story-telling is a mixture of overused italicized fragments and an air so careless, you feel that Patterson himself could have written most of the insultingly short chapters in a single evening. One gets the impression that Patterson is intent on revealing his modern, new-age style by tossing around names like Sheryl Crow and L.L. Bean, but he misses his target entirely. Patterson ought to bring back the sensational homicide cop Alex Cross, a favorite in the far more exciting "Jack and Jill" and "Cat and Mouse." I'm only 18, but if this is what the rest of the adult population is reading and turning into bestsellers, then send me back to high school to read the likes of Salinger and Dickens.
Rating: Summary: I was very disappointed! Review: When I saw a James Patterson novel, I immediately picked it up and couldn't wait to begin reading it. About 15 pages into it, I looked at the cover to make sure I hadn't mis-read the author's name. What is this book about? I kept expecting to read the conclusion saying, "Frannie woke up and it was all a bad dream." This was not a thriller. It was artificial, contrived, a major disappointment. I literally had to push my way through it, which was never the case with any of his other books. One star is one too many for this book. I'm so glad I didn't buy it. Alex Cross, where are you?
Rating: Summary: Abysmal example of immature writing. Review: The fantasy plot and simple, declarative sentances would put this book in the young children's section, however, the sex bits might bump it up for older children.
Rating: Summary: Very Engrossing! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I had never read anything by this author before and have subsequently read most of his work! I believe fiction gets some of its bite from truth! And this stuff is really happening check out some of the biotech companies who are currently harvesting human organs! I read this book cover to cover. Mr. Patterson Thanks for the fun!
