Rating: Summary: A break through in science fiction Review: I give this novel four stars! James Paterson makes a wonder come to life with a amazing discovery that kept me reading and I did not want to put it down. If you like science fiction you will like this novel. It is science fiction and thriller in one. It makes you think something like this would be happening in the world today. On a scale from one to ten I give it a ten. It is a novel I would like to read over and over.
Rating: Summary: When the Wind Blows is awesome! Review: "When the Wind Blows" is an exciting book I have read! I couldn't put the book down because of all the suspense and odd occurences that kept happening. The author is James Patterson. This book reminds me of other books written by Thomas Harris, Michael Crichton, Stephen King, or Dean R. Koontz. All of these authors write exciting, terrifying. scary and overall thrilling books. Give that bestseller book a try because I give it a 10!
Rating: Summary: Hollywood Screenplay Material Only! Review: Bad guys can't hit the broad side of a barn...good guys suffer only the occasional superficial wound and are in unbelievably good physical shape while being pursued (living without food, water or warm shelter for days, including no food for the dog?)...a fair sprinkling of blood and guts throughout....one line of bad guys' research yields something wonderful, which line is then abandoned for the "ultimate goal", just to give the movie something unique...., etc., etc., lots more that's quite unbelievable. There's a basically interesting story buried in and overwhelmed by situations and scenes that are unbelievable and seem written for their special effects impact only. This was my first read of this author...I will try one more, but that could be it....
Rating: Summary: Hard to put down! Review: When the Wind Blows is a great novel if you can open your ming to believe in the "supernatural". The book deals with human genetic alterations and makes you wonder just how close the human race is to something like this. The story itself was quite fast paced, and I always love Patterson's 2-3 page chapters. While some won't care for the romantic subplot, I found it to compliment the main story nicely.
Rating: Summary: "When the Winds Blows" -Blows Review: I couldn't believe what I was reading once I was reading it! I was hoping Alex Cross was going to pop out of the woods and save the day (and the novel). But as I got closer to finishing this book, I realized not even Cross could save this atrocity.
Rating: Summary: A Book You Can't Put Down.....Even to Eat............... Review: This book was absolutely riveting. I've learned from reading Mr. Patterson's books that you only start reading them in the morning, on a Saturday or Sunday, and if you're smart, you don't have any pressing engagements. If you do, you'll do one of two things.............you'll call and cancel or you just won't show up. I've read the Alex Cross books and they are some of my favorites, but this book was SPECIAL. The concept of these winged children was so unique that it truly captured my heart. You actually become so involved with Max that as you move through the book you actually form an emotional attachment to her and then to the other children. It would make a wonderful movie, but the casting would be very difficult. The children really would have to be unknowns or they wouldn't be believable. Someone would always say well "she" was so different in "...........". I read about 4 to 5 books a week, most of the mystery genre, but James Patterson is my absolute favorite. Please, if the publisher reads this, we need a sequel to "Max"........and soon. Believe me...this is one novel that everyone should read. Keep it up Mr. Patterson, just write faster!
Rating: Summary: Maxium Velocity Review: This was the first meeting I had with Mr. Patterson, I found the book entertaining and engrossing. The unique and extremely beautiful children, described in this book ,being used for the benefit of a few, brought to mind the lost childhood of a colorado youngster, and so many others that have no way of fighting back or escaping in this society that robs them of choice, voice, freedom. When you read this book you actually hear the crys of pain and happiness, float from the pages.
Rating: Summary: Thank God for the Libary Review: I have to say this book was terrible. Could not wait to finish it. I have read other books by this author and thought they were very good. Kept you on edge. If it is your first book of Mr. Pattersons please dont make it your last. Try his earlier writings, you wont be dissapointed.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Book! Review: I thought that this was another great book by James Patterson even though it was a little different that the books he usually writes. I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes to read.
Rating: Summary: When the Wind Blows Review: This is the first title by this author that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, some may find it a bit far fetched but isn't that what fiction is all about? As a veterinarian, I enjoyed the main character and the references to veterinary medicine. This was a book that I found difficult to put down.
