Rating: Summary: A Children's story in adult's clothing! Review: This story is so ridiculous it is quite funny. The plot has more holes in it than something that is extrememly holey! Dr. Seuss books are more coherent and believable! The only good points are that even a two year old that can't read could follow it and it will always make a really great doorstop. So, it wasn't a completely wasteful purchase. A very disappointing book that I was enjoying reading having enjoyed Mr. Patterson's previous efforts. As another reviewer quite rightly commented, "Oh dear!" Oh dear indeed.
Rating: Summary: Oh Dear... Review: Oh dear... Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!

Rating: Summary: When the Wind Blows Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is my first James Patterson book, and I found it very entertaining and hard to put down. There was alot of fantasy in it which surprised me. It wasn't your typical murder mystery.
Rating: Summary: Phenomenal reading Review: James Patterson did it once again. I though this book was a fast-pased, exciting read. The book does make you stretch you imagination in the begining with something that is pretty unbelievable. (you'll know it when you get to it) All Patterson books are based on fantasy, but this one really is based on fiction. I thought, 'Oh, God, it's going to be one of these books.' As I read, though, I found myself believing everything going on was actually happening, and could happen. I forgot about the fantasy and accepted it as reality. I couldn't put the book down once I started it. Read this book; you won't be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: Patterson's "high flying" diversion entertains. Review: For most current authors this book would be a four star effort, however Patterson has proven he should be held to a higher standard with some of his other books including coauthoring two nonfiction books that give startling and original insight into today's society. However let us forgive him this flight into fantasy, after all it really is an exciting book with most of the elements James Patterson normally provides. Kit Harrison, enstranged FBI agent and Frannie O'Neill, recently widowed veterinarian, are unkowingly on a collision course with each other and a clandestine scientific group hell bent on keeping their morally questionable, genetic experiments under wraps. Watch the feathers fly when the above mentioned experiments, children created with birdlike qualities, reluctantly accept help from Frannie and Kit to achieve the freedom they so desperately desire. It wouldn't be inaccurate to compare this novel to Dean Koontz's masterpiece Watchers in some respects; but for the most part, When the Wind Blows is lighter and more compact than the other. James Patterson's novel Virgin is another book that strays from the mystery/suspense genre and a updated version is said to be in the works. As usual for Patterson, When the Wind Blows includes action, romance, and well rounded characters while bringing up insightful moral questions
Rating: Summary: Could this really happen? Review: Could this really happen? Maybe it does now or maybe in the future. The author really makes you feel for the characters and some scenes I could really "hear" and "smell" the situation. I agree that its an "Island of Dr. Moreau" like book. Other Patterson books are better but this one is still OK.
Rating: Summary: Good story Review: The overall idea of the story was interesting. I just think that the way Patterson described certain things lacked intelligence. He kept adding little phrases that would have been better had they been left out. This is the second book by Patterson that I've read and this is the worst one so far. Still, I'm keeping the faith and I hope that things get better in the future.
Rating: Summary: A different, but acceptable Patterson novel Review: Well, "When The Wind Blows" was certainly different than other novels by Patterson I've read (and I've read all of them). Though the theme and story of the book was different the formula for this book is pretty much the same as other Patterson novels. It's a must read for die-hard Patterson fans. But if you're expecting another "Kiss The Girls" or "Cat & Mouse" don't keep your hopes up. It is a good book, but don't attempt to compare it to the Alex Cross series, it may end up feeling like a disappointment.
