Summary: I enjoyed this Not-So-Patterson book
Review: If you are looking for Det. Cross, he is not here. But this book is actually good! I enjoyed reading it, but it was not typical Patterson. The plot is interesting enought that you have to finish is to see where he is going with the story line. The main character, Max, was written well. Wonder where he got the idea for this one. Definetly recommend it!

Summary: No Effort in Writing It...No Effort in Reading It
Review: I like James Patterson, but this book was terrible. I read 70 pages (quickly) and finally had enough. Since he put so little effort in writing the book, I felt the same way in reading the book...

Summary: Shame on You, Mr. Patterson
Review: I just finished this book and was so annoyed by it I had to put in my two cents.

I've liked James Patterson's other books, but this one is a dud. What did he do, slap this together in a couple of weeks, if that? The topic has the potential to be fascinating, but he doesn't do it justice. The whole story is weak, the characters shallow.

I was disappointed and regretted spending the time to finish it. (Just hoping it'd get better or the ending would somehow redeem it.) I'm going to think hard about reading anything he writes in the future.

Summary: When the Wind Blows
Review: What a wonderful surprise this book was....not just a mystery but sci-fi (or is it?). It caught me from the beginning. I could not put it down!

Summary: Unbelievable made believable
Review: The title really didn't reveil any thing about the content of the book. I just bought it because of James Patterson's previous breathtaking suspense thrillers. When the wind blows doesn't feature Alex Cross in it, but it is truly magnificent. The little girl, Max, really is a wonderful creature, you'll no doubt fall in love with her. She is so strong, both physically and mentally, despite her age and she makes the book. I couldn't stop reading the book, it is an absolute bestseller. way to go James!

Summary: BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...AND SHE CAN FLY!
Review: I would be hard pressed to search the world for a poorer work of literature than When The Wind Blows. I can think of many things that "blow" and this book would certainly be at the top of that list. Let's assume you buy into the original premise of the book, namely, that a bio-engineered girl can actually fly. Maybe I'm courageous enough to admit that I did that. The rest of the book then discussed in no particular order: a slapdash sketchy explanation of the bio medicine area; a half baked quasi romance that may be the most poorly written prose ever printed; a vague, corporate-bad guy depiction of the money hungry, murdering, human race altering antagonist; punctuated by frequent and overblown references to the fact that THE GIRL CAN FLY! And, by the way, the girl can fly. I mean, she can really fly. No earthbound mall shopping for this homegirl, no way. SHE CAN FLY. Don't you worry about inane details like character development or plausibility, SHE CAN FLY. LOOK AT HER FLY, SHE'S FLYING, NO, LOOK UP THERE, SHE CAN FLY.

P.S. She can fly.

Summary: Okay read
Review: I read this book in about 4 days. Athought the storyline was interesting...it was a bit imature. This is a good book if you are looking for a no-brainer. I am mixed on my review, I prefer more of a challenge in my reading.

Summary: Didn't Finish It
Review: I was dusting this weekend and found this book under a pile of papers -- and realized I'd never gotten around to finishing it. The writing was amateurish and the characters were cartoons. The winged girl was supposed to be unusually intelligent and yet this was not demonstrated in any way I could see. From reading other reviews I understand that this book is an extreme departure for Patterson and that a lot of his fans are deeply devoted, normally. I couldn't stand this book and yet, ironically, I'm now planning to pick up another Patterson novel to see who this beloved "Alex Cross" is who inspires such loyalty!
