Summary: Brilliant, one of the best Books I have Read!
Review: James Patterson who hit home with Along Came A Spider and Cat & Mouse hit sit out of the ballpark with When The Wind Blows which is a suspenceful and haunting fantasy story, that is brilliant and colorful. It is a treat, a heart warmer and a heck of a thriller.

It is rare to me to read a thrillier that has heart, or a fantasy that can actually be thrilling. By far Pattersons best, and beleive me it is one of the best ever.

Even though it deal with an issue which seems a little to off the wall, it still scores huge on my chart.

Summary: If this was my First JP book, it would have been my last
Review: I've read several JP books and thoroughly enjoyed them and am a fan of his. I search out for his books. But this to me was out of character and more like a real novice writing. I felt it wasn't even a good fantasy story. Of course it had a happy ending, but you really have to stretch your imagination to reach even that conclusion. I'm very surprised JP wrote something like this and am truly lost trying to understand how others seemed to have enjoyed it . . . I'm no critic and not often fussy, and I'm usually quite willing to accept any good writer's books on faith, but I must have missed something in this one. . . Lew Dunham

Summary: Not bad
Review: Yet another JP book that doesn't have the legendary Alex Cross and therefore the low rating.

This is definately not the fast-paced, action-packed, excellent thrillers that JP usually writes but a bizarre story of genetically engineered children that can fly and are born & grown to experiment on.

An FBI agent, Kit Harrison, is on leave and is conducting his own investigation of a number of murders that have been happening around town. He encounters a vet, Frannie, who spots a young girl on the side of the road..and she has wings and can fly! Basically, the rest of the story is trying to find out where she has come from and who/what are doing these sorts of experiments. I had guessed the ending well into the book, so it really wasn't a surprise for me, but overall, the plot was not that great, esp considering JP introduced me to Gary Soneji and Det Alex Cross!

Overall, I was disappointed with this book from Patterson, although he is an excellent writer, I really do believe that he should stick to real thrillers with Alex Cross and let the suspense/horror to Stephen King or Dean Koontz.

If you are a fan of JP, then you will be disappointed but this is a fast-read (short chapters) and it will keep you entertained for a least a couple of hours, otherwise re-read 'Kiss the Girls'.

Summary: First Book Read Of James Patterson
Review: This was the first book of James Patterson's that I read and I was hooked. I have since read several of his books that are so good that when one reads them you can not put them down. His works are very addictive to read especially if you enjoy murder mystery and suspense. Highly recommended!

Summary: the Best Patterson book ever!!
Review: I began reading Patterson a few years ago when I found a cheap copy of BLACK MARKET at a used book store over the summer. Ever since, I have been addicted!! When I read WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, it totally "blew" me away... To me, it seems to stand apart from his other books; it has a whole different feel to it... no Alex Cross, but, still, it's a great piece of literature.... especailly if you are like me and feel a need for even fictional claims to be backed up by some sort of scientific evidence-- just to make you thing "hey, it could happen!" Which, in this case, is rather scary in itself...

so-- READ IT!! :-)

Summary: Another Can't Put Down Book by Patterson!
Review: After just finishing Roses Are Red, by Patterson, with its brutality and gore, I found this Patterson book to be as equally absorbing and intriguing but without all of the violence. After reading the author's note on Page Two, I knew that this book was going to be some kind of departure from "normalcy". But when I finished this book, I had to stop and wonder about the plausibility with all of the genetic engineering going on these days. This book will linger with you for days afterwards . . .

Again, Patterson provides another quick read, with very short chapters and one can literally "fly" (sorry, no pun intended!) though this book! It was hard for me to put this book down as well. Patterson has this knack of holding the reader captive from page one!!!

This is book is much different than his Alex Cross novels, as was Cradle And All, but the suspense and action are still there. I found the character of Frannie, the local vet, to be very engaging and appealing. The "winged" children were fascinating to read about and I have to wonder how many "facts" did Patterson gleam from his physician friends that the public is totally unaware of. I am sure we would all be stunned to find out . . but then again, maybe not.

Summary: Do you Love Animals and Children?
Review: How about Animal Children? I was completely unprepared to read the second page of this book. I read the first 2 pages, I sat it down, thought about it, decided it was completely unplausible....then picked it back up and read 200 pages before putting it down again. By the end of the book you will have a whole different perspective on the human genome project. It is an easy, quick, fun read, but your brain will work overtime for days afterward.

Summary: #1 Bestseller not befitting of this novel
Review: I lean toward #1 Bestseller lists, but this novel has changed that for me. A difficult-to-pick-up book once I started it, I found the characters, including the bio-engineered children very uninteresting. I simply disliked the entire premise and the writing style of Mr. Patterson in this one. That is not to say that I won't read any of his future work.

Summary: Mr. Patterson does good again
Review: I truly enjoyed this book. It was a welcome difference from the Alex Cross books. Although I truly enjoy those too. But having James Patterson deal with a whole different element was refreshing. I am recommending this book to anyone who like to read out of the ordinary once in a while. This book will keep you engrossed and rushing to turn the page. His writing is terrific. He is truly a talented and gifted writer. He shows he knows how to deal with many aspects of life. Even when dealing with the extraordinary.
