Summary: Liked it a lot!
Review: Vioelent yet touching, portrail of the holocust. Racism against religion has never been so real. The author brought you to the scene with her and the intensity of feeling that erupted within her close escape from Nazi Germany. I throughly reccommend this book for mature children due to violence and emotional violence.

Review: I read this book in my class and I thought it was boring, but it did have a good plot. The author could have made it longer and more descriptive. Ellen was in danger but Lois didn't make you feel that. And Annemarie wasn't acting like she was scared for Ellen, even though I know she was. Lois' book The Giver was a great book, I thought, but not Number The Stars. I also read A Summer To Die. I thought that was great! But anyway Number The Stars wasn't what it was cut out to be.

Review: "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry is an excellent book. This book is about the way love and friendship can go through hard times. Ellen and Annemarie started a friendship in peaceful times. These two girls' friendship learned to survive during very difficult times. Their frienship give them wisdom and guidance. This is a must read for elementary students through adults who enjoy reading great books.

Review: This book is a wonderful thing for people,not just young adults, but of all ages. It teaches all about the challenges people have to face when there's a war and not just the soldiers have to face them. In this book one family, like many other families worked to halp their friends the Rosens from a horrible death. this novel is so dramatical is will make you cry picturing the lifelike images in your mind. The only thing about this book that is bad is the fact that it was written about something that really happened in our civilized world.

Review: Number the Stars is an interesting book. It is about a young girl, Annemarie, who tries to help her Jewish friend Ellen escape from the Nazis that are invading Copenhagen. This exciting historical fiction novel stretched my mind and made me glad I live in the '90s.

Review: Lois Lowry's book, Number the Stars, is the second best book about the Holocaust that I have ever read. This book is about Annemarie Johansen's family trying to help Ellen Rosen's family get away from the German Nazis. On the way to her uncle's boat, Annemarie is stopped by two Nazis and is late to deliver a special package. The Rosens are brought safely to Sweden where they could live without having to worry about the Nazis. I relate to Ellen Rosen in several ways. One way is that I am part Jewish and my family went through the Holocaust. Annnemarie's family helped them to escape to freedom and some family helped mine escape. Another way I relate to Ellen is that by the description of her personality and ways, we are kind of the same. I felt this book helped me to see what was actually happening during the Holocaust. I have read this book many times other the last several years of my life, realizing more and more what actually happened. The way Lois describes the setting really helps you visualize the scenes. She describes her scenes with easy understandable words and life like similes. I recommend this book to teenagers but anyone could read it because it is easy to understand and easy to follow. If you like books on the history of the world, read this book because it is a very good reference to the Holocaust.
