Summary: What it was like back then.
Review: I liked the book Number of the Stars. I thought that the book was interesting. The book took place in World War 2. The two main characters are Annemarie and Ellen. Annemarie is a Danish girl that is twelve. Ellen is a Jewish girl that is twelve years old. The best part was when Annemarie was stoped by the Yatzi with the hankerchief.

Summary: Hate doesn't just hurt someone, it kills them.
Review: The bravery and courage of the young girl Ann Marie help me remember the cruel times when Hitler took over. When Denmark was taken over by the Nazis, they started killing Jewish people. Many risk their lives to help them. I like how the book made it clear. Friendship is important of every day life. Being brave is likely to being loyal to someone who needs help when they need it. The details of hardship and hardwork that the Jewish people had to do to escape from the cruel things Hitler was doing made me relieze that everyday there is something going on to this world that need to stop. This book is a great example that hate just doesn't hurt one person, it kills a lot of people. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.

Summary: Best book ever read.
Review: I really like this book, Number the Stars. I like to learn more about Jewish people and how they lived back then. Also it is very interesting yet horrorfying to hear what the Nazis did. At some parts of the book when they gave details about the book I cried. This is a very emotional book, but is also very good.

Summary: Very Good!
Review: I forced myself to read "Number the Stars". At first I had no idea what it was aboutbut I figured it out. Two girls are best friends are during World War II. One of them happens to be Jewish. Hitler is after the Jew (Ellen). It is interesting to see what the Lutheran child's (Annemarie) parents do to keep Ellen safe. I also saw the play. It was moving and interesting and touching. You should read it!

Summary: Book Review
Review: Number the Stars is an accurate book about the Holocaust with many strong values. In the book the protagonist named Annmarie has a Jewish best friend named Ellen. Annmarie's family is friends with Ellen's family. When the Holocaust starts, Ellen's family becomes endangered. Annmarie and her family try to keep them away from the Nazis until they can be smuggled to Sweden. They are about ready to leave when a problem occurs that only Annmarie can fix. Can Annmarie save them before the Nazis find them? This book is about rescuers. Annmarie is a rescuer because she risks her life to save her friend in danger when she has the option to just ignore the dangers such as having the Nazis pursue her and kill her family. Annmarie doesn't think she is doing anything special, that she is just doing what any reasonable person would do. Annmarie would have not have been in any danger if she had just decided to do nothing but she did any way. This book is important to read because it tells about horrible yet very real things, like the Holocaust, and brave people, like Annmarie. It is important to know about things like the Holocaust because the more we know the less likly it is for something like it to happen. It shows important values like courage and caring. I recommend this book because it teaches and informs but is not boring.

Summary: Number The Stars Review
Review: Did you ever think how it feels to hide for three days in the bottom of an old ship under alot of dead fish? Ellen Rosen knew the feeling! When the story Number The Stars took place, Ellen Rosen and her friend Annemarie Johansen were ten years old. Ellen was a Jew who had black hair, brown eyes, was short, and a little bit fat. On the contrary, Annemaire was Christian, blond , had blue eyes, was tall and had long legs. The book is telling about the life of the Jews and the non-Jews at the time of the Holocaust and both of them had bad lives, except for the Nazis. These two girls had many good times and happiness, although it was very bad time for all. This is one of the best books about the Holocaust and like most of them it is a true story. Ellen and Annemaire was best friends and they still remain as good friends forever.
