Summary: Quick paced
Review: Connelly's latest Harry Bosch novel is a great read: quick paced, intriguing and kept me involved throughout the story-line. I do agree with another reviewer that Harry's "love life" angle was a distraction to the plot. In future Bosch novels I would like to see more character development with his team, Edgar and Rider. Thanks for another good book, Michael.

Summary: Quick, Exciting Read
Review: Excellent book. Suspense, good cops, bad cops, racial hatred, and Detective Bosch to the rescue. Guaranteed to please.

Summary: Best Harry Bosch novel yet!
Review: Once again a Michael Connelly novel I couldn't put down. This is a dark, tense, suspenseful book with incredibly believable dialogue and characters. The LA atmosphere is richly described. Harry Bosch has evolved with each book and here he seems to have risen above many of his previous troubles. Michael Connelly has created a character that I truly like more and more with each book. I highly recommend it!

Summary: Michael Connelly really captures LA
Review: Once again, Michael Connelly has captured LA , through the eyes and ears of Harry Bosch. Harry is a little more mellow now, but he remains an interesting, multi-dimensional character. The book is fast paced, the characters are vivid and the local color is dead on. If you are a fan of detective novels, this book should be at the top of your list.

Summary: Another outstanding, real-life mystery from one of the best!
Review: As an avid mystery reader for many years, I've come to enjoy Michael Connelly's books more than any other author. His characters seem real and are imperfect individuals like all of us. And the descriptions of the politics involved in police work also are realistic. I particularly liked the somewhat technical discussions about web sites and how they affected the case. My only disappointment is that I finished reading the book a few days after it was published and I now have to wait a year or so for his next!

Summary: A Read-All-Night-Till-Your-Eyes-Burn Book!
Review: Mr. Connolly Has Done It Again. Like A Master Juggler, He Keeps All The Balls Spinning Up And Down In The Air, Now Passing, Now Converging Until They All Come Together In Harry Bosch's Capable Hands. I've Been A Fan Since &Quot;Black Echo&Quot; -- And Hope To Read Many More H. Bosch Books, As Well As The Other Stand-Alone Ones. Mr. Connolly Has A Wonderful Style That Takes Me By The Hand And Drags Me Onward...Or Downward, Into The Darknesses That People Do To Themselves And Each Other. I Am Always Fascinated...And Grateful That It's Not Me

Summary: Makes me want to tour L.A..
Review: The first Connelly novel I read was The Poet and the second was Trunk Music. Then I decided to go back to the beginning and read the Bosch novels in order. I am glad I did. It helps to know the history of people like Bosch, Wish, Chastain, Irvin, and Frankie Sheehan. I thought Angels Flight was one of Connelly's best. It is unsettling in places, and it wouldn't be a Connelly novel without at least one violent death, or maybe five or six. I wouldn't mind taking a tour of L.A., just to see some of the landmarks Connelly points out in his books. I may even find Frank Sinatra's star.

Summary: Jammed through this one in record time.
Review: This is my favorite Bosch book so far (although I'm still waiting for Connelly to give us another classic like THE POET). This one starts right off at full blast and does not relent. Also, as a native Los Angelino, I can testify that Connelly really gets the flavor, the landmarks, the racial tensions, the city politics and the names of the restaurants right. I've even discovered a couple of cool places based on locations in his books. Brilliant premise, brilliant execution. Now Mike, go write another POET.

Summary: If you haven't read Connelly - start with this one!
Review: I've read all of Connelly's books and this one rates right up there with the best of the Bosch novels. His references to prior books (Blood Work and Trunk music) as well as music that Bosch enjoys, remind one of the old Hitchcock movies where he always appeared in one scene. For those of you who haven't read any of Connelly's books, I envy you. You have an incredible reading experience in front of you.

Summary: Connelly's Done It Again!
Review: This newest Harry Bosch novel may be the best. Connelly continues to develop this character, moving in surprising directions with each outing. A few inside jokes (references to characters and events in prior Connelly books) are quite enjoyable. Five stars plus!
