Summary: Her best novel.
Review: I've read many of Mary Higgins Clark's novels, which are always filled with mystery and suspense and they never disappoint. This is, by far, her best book where the unsuspecting and innocent Emily Graham soon finds herself in danger after moving into a house with many secrets. This is a page turner that you won't be able to put down.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: not one of her best
Review: I was very disappointed with Clark's new novel. The suspense and mystery of her earlier novels is sadly lacking in On the Street Where You Live. If you are new to Clark, do not judge her by this novel, read her earlier works.

Summary: disappointing
Review: I have read all of her books and this one is certainly not good. Her plot seems to fall into a pattern. I know who did it before the first 100 pages!

Summary: Disappointing
Review: This was the first Mary Higgins Clark book I have read and I certainly hope her previous novels were better. The story is slow in development and the "Who dunnit" is conveyed in one simple sentence at the beginning. I only read the rest of it to find out the connection between the person I suspected and the historical relation. Even more disappointing was some loose ends that had no follow-up. Perhaps this is the basis for her next book? I certainly hope not! But I must give Ms. Clark the benefit of the doubt and read some of her earlier work.

Summary: Suspense filled. A good attempt at a tired subject.
Review: The bad of the book involves the very tired serial killer subject that is being done to death by every suspence writer. However, the story has great suspense and will really keep you guessing. The serial killer returning from the past also adds an interesting dynamic. The story is well structured and I found the plot moved very well and should keep the interest of any reader. The characters in the book are kind of thrown at you to create confusion and more attention could have been payed to fleshing out the characters. Most seem rather wooden and unimportant to the story. Not a perfect book, but as good as anything Clark has written in recent years.

Summary: Suspense down to the wire...
Review: Well executed plot with an interesting twist. This book most definitely will keep you on the edge of your chair...I guarantee, you won't want to put it down. The female protagonist's character is a bit thin (needed a little more fleshing out) but nonetheless, this is such an unique story I will overlook that minor flaw. Mary Higgins Clark continues to amaze me with the ideas she comes up with for her novels. She is truly one of today's better writers. In her latest, the present day villain is obsessed by a journal he finds when he is just 14 years old. The journal contains explicit notes about three murders the writer committed back in the 1800's. For some reason, the young boy thinks that he has been reincarnated as this very serial killer and as he gets older decides to reinact the crimes much the same way as they were committed many years ago. He does in fact succeed with 2 victims, and naturally he has chosen Emily (our protagonist) as the third. Emily is a prominent defense attorney and somehow her personality just doesn't fit that role, but despite that I highly recommend this book as an entertaining read that will keep you guessing as to whom the real killer may be.

Summary: Kept Me Guessing!!
Review: I have never read such an interesting book by Clark. There are two time frames to keep up with that have a century between them. There are characters in both time frames as though two stories are going on at the same time. I started to doubt my beliefs in reincarnation after I read this book. One never knows about those things. I was suprised to find out who the murder or murderes were. It was not who I thought it would be. I read the book in about 4 days because my attention was held at bay. The book is highly recommended by this reader.

Summary: Can't put it down till's it's done exciting..
Review: This book was great. It is one of MHC's best to date. Especially living in New Jersey it was fun to read about towns that I am familiar with. Emily received stocks from a friend in lieu of payment for her attorney's fee and ends up a millionair and buys a house that was once owned by her family in Spring lake NJ, and that is when the excitment starts I couldn't wait to read to the end to find out what happened and why..
