Rating: Summary: Jess P., Miller Place Review: Four best friends, a magical pair of pants and a summer apart. This was all Ann Brashares needed to write a great, interesting story. It all starts when Carmen walks into a thrift shop. She looks around knowing she won't find anything when her eyes land on an old pair of jeans. She thinks, "What the heck," and buys them for $3.99. She brings the pants home and washes them and throws them on the floor thinking she will never wear them. That night, her three best friends, Lena, Bridget and Tibby gathered at her house for a get-together before they go there separate ways for the summer. They are all moping around Carmen's room when Tibby's eyes land on the pants. Her face lit up and she asked if she could try them on. They fit Tibby amazingly. Soon enough everyone else tries them on, all reluctantly, thinking they won't fit, but completely magically, they do. Somehow, a pair of $3.99 thrift store jeans fit all four friends, all who have different builds and sizes. The friends decide that over the summer, as a way of keeping in touch, they will send them via mail to each other. They start in Greece with Lena, then Tibby in Washington DC, then go to Bridget in Mexico, and last Carmen in North Carolina. This book was one of the best I've read in a long time. It had the perfect blend of romance, friendship, disappointment and magic. You can see Lena fall in love with Kostos, a kind Greek boy, Tibby help a girl named Bailey deal with leukemia, Bridget play soccer and catch the eye of Eric, the handsome 22-year old coach, and Carmen deal with her divorced parents. Even if you think this book sounds silly, I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy it. The only way to do that is to read it!

Rating: Summary: You've Gotta Read This! Review: Title: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Author: Ann Brashares Genre: Fiction In this novel, Bridget, Carmen, Tibby, and Lena are all very good friends. Their mothers used to be good friends because they all went to the same play groups and hung out. As time went on, their mothers started to grow apart, but the four of them still stayed best friends. They always did things together and always spent their summers together. Yet, this year they would all be in different places for the summer. The whole story begins when Carmen buys a pair of pants at a thrift store. When all of her friends are over, Lena spots the pants and wants them. Soon enough, all of the girls try on the pants and they fit perfect on all of them. They realize that these are magical pants. The girls decide to send the pants in the mail to each other over the summer. The pants travel with Lena in Greece, to Tibby in Washington D.C, to Bridget in Mexico, and lastly to Carmen in North Carolina. The pants helped the girls through their rough times and gave them their courage. The pants help them stay close to eat other and maintain their sisterhood. The book reminds you on how important friends really are. It is entertaining yet suspenseful. It is entertaining because it includes events that would happen in real life. Many people could relate to these events. The book is suspenseful because in some of the events, you are unsure of what will happen next. You always want to keep reading to see what will be the outcome. I thought that this was a great book. It helps you remember your true friends and it's a great book to read for entertainment.
Rating: Summary: The Adventures of Friendship ... Review: In this suspenseful novel, 4 life-long friends have to spend their first summer away from each other. The beautiful Lena, the sporty Bailey, the rebel Tibby, and the insecure Carmen are in for a big adventure when Carmen finds a old pair of pants that she bought from the thrift store. The day before everyone splits up for the summer, the pants are found and are tried on by all 4 of them. All of the girls have completely different shapes but yet the pants look perfect on each girl. The pants make them feel confident about themselves which gives them courage. The pants amaze the girls so they decide to make rules for owning, sharing and wearing the pants. The summer begins and everyone is facing their own different challenges. Carmen is in North Carolina visiting dad and new fiancée, Bailey is at soccer camp, Lena is exploring Greece and Tibby is staying home. They face many challenges during the summer. However the girls overcome their challenges because while wearing the pants, they are confident and are able to overcome anything while still maintaining their life-long friendship by shipping the pants to each other and writing stories about their adventures on them. I thought this book was a very good teen novel. It shows the true meaning of friendship while adding a little humor in it. It is very suspenseful and makes you wait to find out if the girls overcome their challenges and how. I recommend this book to anyone who likes humorous or suspenseful books.
Rating: Summary: Highly recommend Review: This book is wonderful. It is easy written. So if you get to read this book, I'm sure you'll find it very easy to read. Some people say that those characters in this novel are unrealistic. They may be right, but I think the characters are quite typical. The author is trying to tell her readers about the meaning of true friendship. If you haven't read it, you've got to read it. You won't be able to put it down.
Rating: Summary: This is a FUN book! Review: As my buddies have told me, this book is fun to read! And its not trashy like most teen novels are, its a wonderful journey of a group of friends that end up in different scenarios one summer, and the only way the have to keep in contact with each other is a pair of jeans- that they cant wash! Theres something magical about pants now. Yeah PANTS!! : o)
Rating: Summary: It doesn't deserve even one star Review: The story lacks humor and plot not to mention positivly boring. I hated it. The characters seem unrealistic and a story about pants are boring. Ann Brashares should quit writing if she makes another story like this.

Rating: Summary: An Exciting Page-Turner (reviewed by:EMM - Grade 5) Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is about 4 best friends; Bridget, Carmen, Lena, and Tibby. At the ages of 15 and 16 they are spending their first summer apart from each other. The thought of being apart saddens them until they find a pair of magical pants. The pants fit all of them even though the girls are all different sizes. They spend the summer sending these pants to each other. Tons of sad and interesting things happen to them while wearing the pants. Even though they are apart the pants make them keep a tight bond. This novel is a story of friendship and unity.
Rating: Summary: COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!! Review: This book was amazing. It took me about 3 hours to read it. I just couldn't put it down. The writing and the characters made it really realistic and I felt like I could relate to it. The author made me care about the characters. I highly recommend this book (and the sequel) to anyone. Especially teenage girls, because like me, you'll be able to relate.
