Rating: Summary: Three friends and I read it... Review: I have three friends and one of them recommended this book to the rest of us. We took turns reading it and we loved it! I recently found out about the sequel and we'll be getting it soon. We can't wait to see what will happen next with these girls. It made us laugh and cry and we felt like we might go throught that some day. It's a wonderful book and I'd recommend it to any group of friends who share almost everything.
Rating: Summary: Brashares is a great author! Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a great book! Absolutely one of my favorites, I couldn't put it down. There are four different girls, but I could relate to every single one of them. All of them with unique personality and trait, yet they remained to become best friends. The book is written very well, very descriptive. I suggest everyone should read this book, it's definately one of the best I've read in awhile.
Rating: Summary: Finally! Review: Finally there is an honest and heart-warming (without being too over the top politically correct) story for young adult readers. The element of "magic" provides just enough of a hook to link the four young women we meet in this story. The premise is simple: A pair of thrift store jeans see four young women through an adventurous summer apart. As the pants travel the world, we see four girls (Carmen, Tibby, Lena, and Bridget)and the drama that unfolds in each of their lives. Their stories are powerful, intelligent, and moving. This is no Babysitter's Club- The Pants will leave you wanting more with tears in your eyes. Read it!
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: The book was really, really great. As just about everyone else that's written a review said, it's a catchy story that really gets you engaged. However, I do have one comment about this book. If you're trying to do a book talk on it to a class of teenagers, they have an extremely hard time getting the fact that they're "magic pants". They won't let that rest... they won't bother listening to you try to describe the great plot of this story. Just a warning. But, I'm looking forward to the Second Summer of the Sisterhood!

Rating: Summary: Unputdownable Review: When I first saw this book, I though, "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants?, What could that mean?" I ammediatly thought this book was strange and that I wouldn't like it, but I was wrong! This book was excellently writen. I couldn't put it down. It's about these 4 friends who have been friends since before they were born. Now they're older and it's summer time. It's their first summer away from eachother. On each girls summer vacation she learns a lesson which the reader also learns! If you are wondering what the "traveling pants" is supposed to mean, let me tell you, it's something that's really neat, and that will make you want to try it with your friends!
Rating: Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Review: In most fairy tales, there is always a little bit of magic. There have been magic apples, magic lanterns, and even magic shoes. But I have yet to discover another book about magic jeans. This story isn't about some pants made by a fairy godmother, though. No, The sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, by Ann Brashares tells the story of four best friends and their first summer apart. It's sure to keep you reading until the very last page. This book focuses mainly on the trials and tribulations of four girls summer. They have the basic problems of a regular 15-year-old girl. There are crushes, family problems, sex lives and even death. This book really keeps you interested and excited. One thing I really liked about this book is the way it's written. There are four different main characters and each chapter is written from one of their point of views. The thing I didn't like about it was that only Carmen's chapters were written in first person, the rest were written in third person. I think it would have been better if they were all in first person point of view. The book is set in several different places with each character. Tibby is the only one who is at home in Washington D.C., and then Bridgette is way in Baja, California. Lena is also out of the country, all the way in Greece and Carmen is in South Carolina. Tibby is my favorite character. She is really funny and realistic. She is working at a "five-cents-over-minimum wage job" that she hates, has a nose ring, and watches Oprah. What more could you ask for in a great character? Carmen is the most beleivable. She is going through her parents divorce and is mad at her dad when he surprises her by already having a new family ("There is no such thing as fun for the whole family.") Lena and Bridgette are a lot alike. They both have a thing for guys, but Bridgette has stronger feelings for her crush than Lena. Lena, on the other hand is being forced to like someone that she doesn't. This book is so great because the scenery is described so well and the thoughts of the characters are expressed so truly. When you read it you feel as if you were actually there. Its as if you were that person or reading their diary. I think the most important theme in the book to love yourself no matter what. After all, "Pants=love. Love your pals. Love yourself'. Each character in this book eventually finds this out and that "Life is so whatever."
Rating: Summary: Really Good Review: I loved this book so much. My bff let me borrow the book and eventually it was passed around between all my friends. Really funny, really sad. You really feel like these girls are your friends. Can't wait for the next one
Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT Review: I can't express to you how much i loved this book. I couldn't put it down. It brought you through the good and bad times of four best friends. I related to some of the things they go through so much- life isnt perfect all the time but when you got friends like Lena, Bridgette, Tibby, and Carmen with you then you can get through it!
