Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I found this book to be very helpful with every day situations in life.
Rating: Summary: Great self help / self improvement Review: I was interested in this book because I find myself worrying about every last detail and what ofher people think of me. I have been shown the real important issues in life! The book has fullfilled my expectations and opened my interest in self improvement. I thought I was a relaxed and productive person, but the book has shown me otherwise and helped to find areas of improvement. Excellent, casual read. Very relaxing.
Rating: Summary: Must reading, over and over again. Review: A beautifully written book, that brings logical reasoning out of our chaotic culture. The two page "passages" (chapters) makes Richard Carlson's work, easy reading, thought provoking, and a must for anyone's night stand. Can be read over and over without becoming boring. Worth more to the Heart, Soul, and peace of Mind than the price of the book, this one fits in my catagory of my personal journal and Bible.
Rating: Summary: Richard Carlson changed my life Review: I'm 14, and I read 'Don't Sweat The Small Stuff.' I've to say, it changed my life. I've learned that life is short and we must appriate things and people and let them know. This is a great lesson and I wish more people could pick it up as early as I have.
Rating: Summary: Great Reference Book Review: This book reminds us that simple changes in our lives will make us human again perfect with our imperfections. I read this book often and I thank the author for sharing these ideas with us and in such a practical manner. I would love to join a discussion group on this and similar books if one exists.
Rating: Summary: It was ok. Review: Most of what the author wrote, I had already been told. Some of it made good sense. However, I would refuse to get up at 3 or 4 am just to have time for myself. I spend that time with myself...sleeping!!! There were other aspects of the book that I would not do. As my grandmother once said, "Take all things with a grain of salt!" On the average, it was an interesting book. However, I strongly urge you think twice about the advice being given. It will not fit every life!
Rating: Summary: You'll want to share this with others! Review: I read this on a whim and was so impressed that I gave to many friends as a holiday gift. This book reminds you to enjoy life--every day, despite the many stressors that diminish our happiness. Don't feel you have to incorporate every suggestion, but take a few tips and integrate them into your life for increased joy and peace of mind!
Rating: Summary: Think of someone to thank everyday! Review: One of Dr. Carlson's lessons is that you should think of someone to thank everyday. My "thank you" today goes to Dr. Carlson. This little book is quick reading but extremely uplifting. I found all 100 of his lessons to be common sense but eye-opening at the same time. As a mother of two active boys and a 2nd grade teacher as well as a post-graduate student, this book was what I needed to remind me to stop and be thankful for my life. Often we get so busy that we become impatient with our coworkers, spouses, and children! Thank you, Dr. Carlson, for reminding me that I need to slow down and stop sweating!
Rating: Summary: Simple ways to worry less...take one a day. Review: So ,if you have found your way to this book and are considering reading it, it may be because you are feeling overwhelmed with the nitty-gritty of life. Ironically, the advice in this book is simple, precise and not in the least bit overwhelming. It is a collection of short doses of ideas and reminders of a way to live, feel and react that we may have known but become too busy for or forgotten. By handling one section at a time, daily or according to your needs, you can find a moment of reflection and inspiration on most topics that affect you right now. What a peaceful world it is becoming when each reader of this book decides not to sweat the small stuff...and the rest.
Rating: Summary: I enjoyed this because it is simple but effective info. Review: Through basic ideas and examples, the author managed to give advice on how to get through life without fretting about the details, without obsessing about mistakes we make. Most people would benefit from this book.
