Summary: Save your money
Review: This book is almost as bad as his radio show. Save your money to send to a charity. He wrote this book in 3 days and it reads like he wrote it in 2 days. Good luck with this 4th grade read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Some People Don't Read...or Listen
Review: First off..the "dog killing" joke that aired on his show and web site - can you say analogy? It was meant as a piece of biting, brutal and angry satire - meant to emphasize the hypocrisy regarding the removal of Terry Schindler Schiavo's feeding tube -A Florida woman who has lived as an invalid since suffering massive brain damage several years ago (for more information on T.S. Schiavo see her family's website...or just open a newspaper). Second, get over yourselves, that are all offended about the joke - Yes, animial cruelty is despicable and should be condemned, but human life is no less precious...let's at least take the wax out of our ears and make an effort to be well informed.

Ok...now that I got that out of the way! I gave the book 4 out of 5 stars mostly because I really wanted to read more! I don't agree with Mr. Beck 100% on everything, but I do admit that he is well spoken, intelligent and well informed. Some people are under the mistaken impression that he is another right wing extremist - but I encourage you to read (and I mean READ) his book and listen to a few of his radio shows...you will see a man that struggles with many of the same questions we all do. I also admire his unabashed patriotism, the depth of his faith and his razor sharp humor. This worth the read, you won't agree with all of it - but after all, what good does it do anyone to only expose themselves to things they agree with?

Summary: Had a box of Duct Tape, just in case...
Review: Glenn has a great perspective of the events of the world (and the neighborhood) both on air and in print. His insight on the middle east, religion, and especially political correctness are right on the money.

Now, I'm off to eat a box of dog crap.

Summary: It's his radio show in the form of a book
Review: Glenn Beck claims it takes at least a month to "get" his program. It took me 60 minutes, maybe because I am a fast learner OR because he has the same bent sense of humor as I do. I find the chapter about his view of partisan politics to be very entertaining. So much was said with so few words. Literally. His story on his religion / spirituality is very interesting as well as how his idea of how to run a business. Demming would be impressed, I think.

It's a fast, fun read and wickedly entertaining unless you are a flaming leftist in which case it would be masochism.

Summary: One Star for the Title
Review: So a populist demagogue writes a book titled "The Real America...", fills it with topics like family, accountability and it sells like gangbusters. Pinch me. What's next? How about "Why I'm behind our Troops...all the way to the Iraqi border"

The title, is marketing genius, I just wish the content had been written from, well, maybe the head instead of the heart. For example, Beck tells us that poverty doesn't cause terrorism, terrorism causes poverty. I suppose next he'll tell us the reason we fall down has something to do with gravity. Or maybe he'll tell us that stealing...is a bad thing. A veritable cornucopia of fun facts!! I was always told not to ignore the obvious, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

And isn't it uplifting, coming from someone who has told his listeners about his own personal foibles, to tell others how they should live their lives. (Hey, wasn't that Dr. Laura's job?) Kind of like our former president discussing the virtues of monogamy. Yeah, right. Nice thought - credibility might be a problem.

I'm sure that many of Beck's minions would no doubt follow him off a cliff, as long as its clear that its the morally right thing to do. Before they do that they should remember that while it's foolish to simply ignore an opinion, it's worse to blindly accept an uniformed one.

Summary: One of the best books I have read
Review: I listen to Glenn Beck's show everyday at work, and I looked forward to reading this book. It is just as entertaining as his show and a book I loved to read. I'm looking forward to reading it again to see if I missed any information. If you want a book that will entertain you and make you laugh then you need to read this one.

Summary: Funny and intelligent
Review: I have always been a fan of Glenn Beck and I even consider him a better talk show host than Limbaugh and Hannity. He is orginal and really humorous. In his book, like his show, he has the ability to be both intensly personal, yet cover a wide range of popular topics in a very clever way. Although I disagree with Mormon theology, I enjoyed hearing how Glenn made his spiritual transformation. He is an open book. Very refreshing.

Summary: Great Story of Beck..
Review: People have problems discribing what this book is.. what it really is is an autobiography of Mr. Glenn Beck.. sure it tells you what he thinks. and i know that thoughts the left doesn't agree with are always wrong... but thats what he thinks.

its honest, from the heart, and if u listened to the show for just about everyday for close to 2 years now, a summaury of his stories on the show.

what its not.. a big bashing book against the left.. REALLY, now people on the Left be Tolerant, and Open minded, just how u tell us rigth wingers to be all the time. and u'll see that glenn's not out to kill anyone.

who should read it? just about everyone.. sure granted high end scholar types with there shirts a little too tight around the neck, might be taken aback by the 'simple' writing stlye.. but a) glenns not a writer, and b) its a message from him to everyone. and everyone will get the message if they really read the but, YOU'll GET IT. its not 1st grade, see jane run, run jane. but its early high school level writing.. and that in itself survies a purpose...

theres no need to over think what the Real America should be, and there was no need to overwrite... i'm sure if Glenn wanted to use loooooooooooongggggggggggggggggg words that no one would get he could, he'd call up his editors say heres the draft make it smarty smart pant sounding. done.

to the michael moore guy... stop (hold on need the bubbler, bubble bubble bubble) smoking whatever u are.
michael moore came out today and said theres no terrorist threat against america, and there never was. 9/11's just happen, and they will. and that wasn't a terrorist attack, nor are there any terrorists targeting america.

if you belive in his greatness, u must belive in that kind of thinking. personally i'm not that stupid, no matter how i spell, how simply i wirte ...

in the end the Real America is about the Real Glenn Beck..
And how he changed, improved, and became who he is. Its should be a message to all that read it that we all can change, and that change starts with us. if wee all want something like the Real America, then togther we all can get it.
and all in all An America with white picket fences around everyones house, where the neighbors know each other does not sound bad to me. if that sounds bad too you, then quite frankly i don't want to live in ur world, i'd rather live in Glenns.

Summary: I need duct tape after some of these reviews! :P
Review: The animal rights activists are nothing short of HYSTERICAL are they not?...one moment, I need to break my ferret's legs for no apparent reason... Right, anyway this book is brilliantly written, and I encourage people to listen to Glenn on the radio. It is truly a mix of entertainment and enlightenment.

Now, I'm off to club a seal... :P

Summary: Another book for the mindless
Review: republican party hacks who aren't interested in research or truth and just want someone to tell things like they want to believe they are.

So Mr Beck joked on his show about kiling a dog to sell copies, eh? Just goes to show you that Glenn's just more of the unfunny DJ stunts and sad attempts at humor that we get from fm morning zoo crews and shock jocks nationwide.

Save your money and buy #1 book on amazon, Michael Moore's 'Dude, Where's my Country."
--an author that Glen tried to tell us has no following, despite the fact that he outsells Mr Beck, Sean Hannity , and Ann Coulter by a huge margin every time.
