Rating: Summary: A Primer of UFOlogy Review: Marrs presents some strange theories, (especially in the first chapter)but he can back them up. The best advice for anyone who isn't really interested in UFOs is to read this. This sparked my interest in everything paranormal. Hopefully this and his new book (Rule by Secrecy) will change peoples' views on topics not covered by the Mass Media.
Rating: Summary: Alien Agenda Review: A great book with lots of imformation not only pertaining to the UFO issue, but, also some astounding imformation about our Government and some of its leaders complicity to conceal various levels of imformation> If you are not afraid to take a objective view at whats going on around you; I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: Great Primer on the UFO subject. Review: A comprehensive overview of the UFO subject, covering both the well-known evidence and the more peripheral facets, such as the lunar anomalies, crop circles and cattle mutilations. Highlights include a chapter on the use of ESP in the investigation of the UFO phenomenon and space in general, and a discussion of who's in charge of this planet (surprise: "we the people" are not). Bottom line: if I had to give just two books to a UFO novice, this would be one of them (the other would be "UFOs: The Secret History" by Michael Hesemann).
Rating: Summary: Same old same old.... Review: Filled with unsupported anecdotes, this excerise in contrived paranoia spews the same silly UFO conspiracy nonsense that so many others have foisted upon a public all-too-eager to believe that "the government is out to get you." Admittedly, it is the best-written of the genre to date, but that cannot overcome the main shortcoming of this tome: there's no real truth, no substance, no solid evidence. Read it for what it is: speculation, fear, and opinion with a dash of plausible science fiction. Close but no cigar.
Rating: Summary: Everyone should read this book! Review: As a fan of Zecharia Sitchen, I was equally interested to read Mr. Marr's book. As well as imparting a wealth of new information, he brings together many of the pertinent facts that other writers have spent a lot of time on, in a more compact form, so that readers may learn about important issues from his book and then go on to do their own further investigating with other authors. Mr. Marr's writing is informative, seemingly unbiased, and keeps the reader enthralled as though he or she is reading a good novel. But these are, in my opinion, serious issues which the world, in general, tends to sweep under the carpet. Mr. Marr proves there is too much evidence which has been discovered throughout the duration of our known civilization, to be ignored. Extra-terrestrial involvement with our world is basically a known and rather common fact, but one which the human condition continually avoids. Why is that? Fear? Perhaps if more people had Jim Marr's interest, we would be a lot farther along in our understanding and acceptence of such matters.
Rating: Summary: Get ready. They're here. Review: Pages For All Ages is Illinois largest independent bookstore. Our metaphysical reading group at Pages read Alein Agenda this month of August. Jim Marrs has written a classic on the subject of UFOs and the Alien presence among us. The Greys, the Martians, and the Transcendentals are here and always have been. Although the author is objective, it is at once obvious that a cover up of incredible proportions has been taking place. Our group was fascinated by the multiplicity of species in the universe and other dimensions. And to some degree, we actually filled in some parts of the Alien puzzle. Several people in the group recounted their own Alien experiences. This book is deserving of five stars for its objectivity, its scope, and especially for its bibliography and references. Every person in the group was in full agreement that there has been a massive government coverup about the Alien presence. There was some lively debate as to why this is being covered up. One idea from the book was put forward that Aliens are working in cooperation with secret elements of the U.S. government and other governments of the world. They are also in contact with the most wealthy and powerful people in the world. Most of the group disagreed with that idea in that most Alien contact occurs with common folk like us. Another idea that seemed to make the most sense is that there is disinformation because the government knows we are helpless before this technology and when the full truth is known it will shake our belief systems as to who we are as a species to the ground. When it is discovered that the Alien presence has been engaged with human beings for hundreds of millions of years, on this very planet, it will strike a mighty blow to the cosmology of the monotheistic religions, cause panic, thus destabilizing society. But our group thought that people would not react in a panic for long. Our hope is that they treat us better than we treated the Indians. Yet it was agreed that the world population was out of control and our destruction of the environment spelled serious consequences for the world as we know it now. Mankind can't depend on forces outside themselves to change this planet, but must be done internally. Thus, the Greys are creating a new Alien hybrid with both our genes. Let's hope that this development can lead humanity from the brink of disaster and enter a golden age, embraced by a universe of advanced life forms. Did I say Five Stars? Give it Six.
Rating: Summary: A must read to know the truth! Review: Jim takes all of the evidence throughout the years and makes good casses. there is no beeting around the bush here (unlike someone else we all know) Alot of good information to take in through these pages. If you want to know what is truly happening with the government, read this book!
Rating: Summary: Excelent government "un"coverup book... Review: This is a VERY good book. Jim takes the truth and states it as it is. No beeting around the bush here. (Unlike someone else we all know) Alot of very convincing evidence to look at throughout the pages. Highly recomended!
Rating: Summary: Wide in scope and exceptionally well written. Review: Our metaphysical reading group at Pages for All Ages in Illinois, chose Alien Agenda as our book for August. After our meeting we will rate the book and give you the consensus of our group critique. As leader of this group, I read it first. Here is my personal critique. Having had very profound personal and actual experiences with UFOs, I was hoping this would not be a farce like the fudamentalist Christian tripe found in the book Alien Encounters. I was not disappointed. Jim Marrs is a fine writer. As an investigator, he managed to present nearly every conceivable viewpoint without eclipsing the work with his own opinion. When he begins with the idea that the moon may be hollow and makes an intriguing case for that wild idea, you know you're in for a good read. Since NASA sent one of their craft purposely crashing into the moon this very morning, we will see if it really rings like a bell when struck. Some areas were too drawn out, but that is to be forgiven because the author tried very hard to make his points. The only area that he missed was the Buddhist connection. The Vedas symbology of UFOs was included, but if the author would have had the wealth of esoteric information found in the ancient Buddhist texts, his scenario would have been complete. The God described by the remote viewers accords most perfectly with the dharma or Law described in the title of the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha's highest teaching. I highly recommend this book for those wanting a serious treatment of the UFOs and the alien agenda.
Rating: Summary: ALIEN AGENDA is the one-stop read concerning UFOs. Review: This book was intended to bring a general audience up to speed on what's been learned about the UFO phenomenon during the past 50 years. Imagine my consternation to discover that in most bookstores, despite the fact that HarperCollins had catagorized it as "non-fiction, current affairs," it was relegated to the "occult" or "New Age" shelf which meant than many mainstream readers with merely a slight curiosity about the subject never saw "Alien Agenda". This is the book you should give your Uncle Fred who sneers at you and says, "You don't really believe in that stuff do you?" I would also like to point out that, as any wide-ranging journalist, just because I write about a particular subject or theory, does not mean that I personally subscribe to it. But no one ever learned something new by refusing to entertain unpopular or fringe ideas. After all, there were plenty of experts who said the atom bomb wouldn't work and that television wouldn't last.
