Summary: Patterson's Soap Opera
Review: If you like Soap Operas, you might like this book. After James Patterson's previous works, I was expecting a nail-biter that I couldn't wait to continue. However, after listening to just one tape, I looked at the box (for the first time - my mistake) and saw that it was a selection of the Women's Murder Club. I had already guessed that this book was written for the female audience, based on the style. Still, I waited for the book to hook me, and was delighted by the parts narrated artfully by Jeremy Piven. Unfortunately, I became even more aware of the painfully condescending narration by Melissa Leo. Imagine a mother reading a Pooh book to her very young child - that is the style of this narrator. The story never worked, regardless of the delivery. Both stars are for Piven - lets hope that he does more of these.

Summary: FAST MOVING PAGE TURNER
Review: Great book I read it in six hours. I have two children and I let then watch two movies in a row so I could finish the book. I never thought it was true that a author could make you want to keep reading James Pastterson does just that.

Summary: A new Version but slightly disappointing!
Review: I liked the new novel with the "Murder Club" however it is not like the first version with everyones life involved in the story just the cop's life not the other girls. Still the twist and turns in the novel were great can't wait for the third installment.

Summary: Couldn't put it down..
Review: Four hours, cover to cover...I couldn't put it down. Another stunner for James Patterson in his womens murder club series. Just when I thought I figured it out, another twisted changing plot line.

Summary: WELL DONE POLICE THRILLER
Review: A fast placed action read with well developed characters. The concept of the women's murder club was a pleasant twist for veteran readers of the genre. Incorporating them into the plot as potential victims made the tale all the more interesting.
Also recommended the Alex Cross Series and MURDER DOESN'T FIGURE,
the best read of the year.

Summary: Powerful police procedural
Review: After solving a particularly gruesome homicide investigation Detective Lindsay Boxer is promoted to Lieutenant. Although she is grateful for the promotion, she knows she would never have solved it without the help of her three good friends: Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas, medical examiner Claire Washburn, and Assistant District Attorney Jill Bernhardt. This informal group, known as the women's murder club, still meets from time to time as a support cell for each other.

When Lindsay starts another high profile homicide investigation, being a member of the club becomes very dangerous because the perpetrator marks some of them as his victims. He also kills a young black girl in front of a church, a older black woman in a laundry basement, and a black police officer. The two dead black females are related to police on the force. Lindsay and her superiors conclude that the killer has a grudge against the force. The only problem is they don't have a clue as to his identity.

New York Times best-selling author James Patterson displays his talent with his latest police thriller 2nd CHANCE. The female characters are at the top of their profession and are in deserved positions of leadership that will definitely appeal to the author's female fans. There is enough action and chills in this work to keep the author's male readers happy. All in all, this is a non-sexist, one of a kind dynamic work.

Review: In the second installment of the of the Women's Murder Club, Patterson delivers a smash hit once again. Lindsay Boxer is now a homicide liuetenant, and still getting over the death of her partner/lover, Chris Raleigh. But she is dragged back into work when a eleven-year-old girl is murdered coming out of her church. She is shocked to discover that the little girl may not be the first victim... or the last. So she does what she's best at. Finding the killer. With the help of Jill, Claire, and Cindy. The Women's Murder Club.

Summary: Better than his last...
Review: After reading Violets Are Blue, I'd nearly given up on Patterson. After reading 2nd Chance, I wanted more of Patterson. Second Chance tells the story of the Women's Murder Club for their second round of mystery. In it, Lindsay, Cindy, Claire, and Jill must work together the clues to find their seemingly racist killer - with the risking of their lives. Patterson wrote a refreshing story after the suffocating Violets Are Blue; 2nd Chance will hit the bestseller lists in no time.

Summary: Redeem your characters!!!
Review: I was a bit concerned that the plot would be too simplistic after reading 1st to Die. But I was pleasantly suprised! Patterson's ideas and plot flowed well and he kept me turning pages. My only fear is that he will slip into the same pattern he has with the Alex Cross series (which I also enjoy): too many bad things happening to his characters. I wish just once Patterson would allow something positive to happen to them. Enough with their love interest dying. Please redeem both Cross and Boxer.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: When a young girl is killed in front of a church the people of San Francisco are outraged, and detective Lindsey Boxer wants answers.

Was the young girl caught in the crossfire, or was this monster aiming for her?

As Lindsey begins her investigation she will come across a previous murder, one that at first seems unrelated, but the deeper she digs she believes the murders are connected, and when a third murder occurs Lindsey knows a madman is loose.

Pressed for time, and desperate to stop the killer, Lindsey will enlist the help of her friends and partners, the Women's Murder Club, a group of women all with connections to stop the killer.

As the Women's Murder Club dives full force into the investigation a person from Lindsey's past will come back into her life, but at what cost?

Not knowing where the killer will strike next, Lindsey must watch her every move, because one wrong move could be her last.

'2nd Chance' is the second EXCELLENT entry in the Women's Murder Club series. With heart-stopping suspense, and shocking plot twists the reader stays on the edge of their seat not knowing what to expect, anxious to see the outcome, but disappointed the story has to come to an end.

James Patterson is the absolute BEST at creating up-all-night page-turners. His novels are filled with action and suspense as he carefully unfolds his plots without wasting a word.

I am anxious to see what happens next in the Women's Murder Club series!

A MUST read!!!
