Rating: Summary: Stupider and stupider Review: Come on. With each shopaholic book the main character keeps getting stupider and ditzier. This is so far out, I could barely keep an interest. I just wanted to smack Becky. And luke really has no personality. I wanted to her to end up with his friend, honestly. Read for yourself, you'll how amazingly rediculous this plot becomes.
Rating: Summary: I'm a little bored with the zany chick books Review: Shopaholic Ties the Knot was fine for what it is: a fluffy read, not intended for the thinking woman who really wants to identify and delve into the topic of engagement (yikes) and marriage. I would recommend Otherwise Engaged for anyone who wants a book they can perhaps learn something from, and the laughs are more frequent and witty versus slapstick. Just my own opinion...
Rating: Summary: Fun to read Review: I have read all three of the Shopoholic books. The end of the series is not different from the first two. Becky is still fun but this time in trouble with her weddings. It is a very quick read, I enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Becky's at Barney's!! Review: How appropriate for Becky to get a job at her mecca, Barney's! And a personal shoper to boot! I'm sure you can only imagine a Shopaholic's wedding plans........this third book in Kinsella's series about Becky Bloomwood finishes it off very well. Can't wait for Kinsella's next heroine!
Rating: Summary: good love story, but just like the rest Review: This book has a good romance, some funny bits, but overall - it's just like the other two books. I know this is what the readers expect and the author just followed what's been a bestseller. But it was still predictable and a letdown for me.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the first two Review: Still an enjoyable read, and a must to complete the series, but not as fun as the first two in the series. Becky is still as witty as ever, and still manages to get herself in a mess that she can only try and lie herself out of. They don't touch as much on her shopping problems in this one though. Do recommend to finish out the series!
Rating: Summary: Keep Shopaholic Coming! Review: I have read all three of the Shopoholic books, and enjoyed them. They are very entertaining and make me feel a whole lot better about my bad habits, such as shopping, and trying to please everyone. "Shopaholic Ties the Knot" came at the perfect time. I am planning my own wedding. As stressful as my wedding planning is, it will never reach the depths that Becky Bloomwood has gotten herself into. Very enjoyable, and I hope there will be more books about Becky.
Rating: Summary: One of Britain's Best Review: Sophie Kinsella has done it again, and for those of us getting married, well we are glad she has. Funny, bright and plenty of fluff, this book ranks with Diary of a Mad Mom by Laura Wolf and Otherwise Engaged by Suzanne Finnamore
Rating: Summary: Becky's back! Review: I just now got around to reading the third installment of the Shopohlic series and have to say, Becky has not changed that much. Sure, she was more focused on her fiancee this time and her soon to be mother in law, but in Becky style, she couldn't just pick one wedding dress! I found it to be funny and entertaining and one of the best books I've read all year, including, "Heartbreaker" by Kim Corum and "Mr. Maybe" by Jane Green.
Rating: Summary: Shopaholic series Review: I enjoyed the entire "Shopaholic" series but I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 only because the books are easy to read and great way to just zone out and relax, they are not great literature. But they are rather fun to read and hard to put down because you are always wondering what the next crisis Becky will get herself into and how she will get herself out. You can relate to her if you have an ounce of the "shopaholic gene" in you, although, I wonder if there are people out there that are this crazy about shopping and if they get themselves this seriously in trouble. I consider myself a shopaholic but I have never gotten in the situations Becky has gotten into, not even close ! I have reccommended them and loaned the books to all my friends and we all agreed they are a great summer book to read or a way to get away from boredom and monotony of everyday life with a giggle. Do not expect a deep or serious novel with Sophie Kinsella's writing. She writes for the 20's and 30's woman who has a sense of humor. I look forward to more books by Sophie Kinsella.
