Summary: Caught me by surprise
Review: I have never been sentimental about weddings and dresses. I wore my sister's gown without once shopping for alternatives. Nor do I impulsively buy cocktail cabinets or sterling tea sets. I have lived in New York for fifteen years and been inside Tiffany's only twice. I like nice clothes and things, don't get me wrong. I'm just--what's the word?--CHEAP and hate to overspend. Shopaholic provided me with serious vicarious thrills. Reading about Bex's wild spending was an illicit pleasure, like cake, candy, and I was relieved that no one turned the joys of shopping into a matter of psychosis. Clinically compulsive spending is such a downer. Better to keep it light, fun, without consequence. Shopaholic does all that. Plus, English lilt.

Summary: very good, but more of the same
Review: My first read of the Shopaholic series was "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan". It was HILARIOUS. I could totally relate to Becky's affair with anything designer related. Then I read "Confessions of a Shopaholic", which was great, but I didn't enjoy it as much as "...Manhattan" because I don't really know the shopping scene in England. :) Still, it was great to read it. You get to know Becky's character so much better and you see how everything got started.I love weddings, and I love shopping, so I thought it would be great to get my hands on "Shopaholic Ties the Knot". Of course, once I start a series I have to read everything related to it. This third installment in the Shopaholic series didn't disappoint. I read it in one day and loved getting to know other characters that aren't fully developed in the other books. Like Luke's mother, Elinor, as well as Becky's mom. "Shopaholic Ties the Knot" is a light, delightful read. I only recommend it if you've read the other books beforehand. Otherwise you won't get into it and some parts of the book will not make any sense.

Review: I feel I know Bex very well. It's a fun read and I can see a bit of myself in Bex. Kudos to Sophie Kinsella for this book. Please write another soon!

Summary: Filled with laughs
Review: The planning of Becky (and Luke's) wedding is one of the funniest stories you'll read this year. Her handling of meddling, but well intentioned mothers who are as different as night and day will leave anyone who's been in a similar situation crying with laughter. The amazing thing, though, is we know Becky will come out on top. It's the ride, how she gets there that's magic.
Also good for laughs, a little book entitled No One's Even Bleeding.

Summary: For die-hard Shopaholic fans only
Review: The latest entry in the hilarious Becky Bloomwood (aka the Shopaholic) was somewhat of a disappointment. I had eagerly awaited this novel in which Becky marries her sweetheart Luke Brandon, but unfortunatley was let down. Shopaholic Ties the Knot lacks the laugh out loud comedic situations that were in Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan. Beckyk has matured and is more in control of her finances, and the reader experiences less of her eccentric personality. The story centers too much on newer characters like Elinor (Luke's mother) and Danny the upstairs neighbor than characters we've known since the beginning like Luke and Suze. The rather boring plot centers around Becky's difficulty in deciding to get married in New York or England (yes, it's as dull as it sounds) Although this book lacks the charm of the first 2 novels, it will provide a great easy reading.

Review: I can't say enought about this book! I was completely enthralled from the time I picked it up. Ms. Kinsella has truly outdone herself with this one. I really enjoyed seeing Luke's character develop in this installment. I can only hope there are more 'Shopaholics' to come! Pick up this book, if for no other reason, to read Chapter 13! Brilliant...I could NOT stop laughing!

Summary: Sophie Kinsella does it again!
Review: When I heard there was going to be another Shopaholic book, I was a bit skeptical. While I loved the first two books, Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, I thought the idea had been taken as far as it could be. I really didn't believe the author could write another book that entertained as well as the first two. Boy, was I ever wrong! Shopaholics Ties the Knot picks up a year after the previous book and things are going well for Becky and Luke. Of course, Becky is still having trouble with her spending, but life is good. Then Luke proposes and Becky finds herself in a bind over wedding plans. The mayhem that follows is inspired. I read this book very quickly and enjoyed every minute of it. The Shopaholic books are all very light hearted and intended to entertain, not change the world. You won't believe the trouble Becky gets herself into this time. If you like books in the vein of Bridget Jones or if you enjoyed the first two Shopaholic books, then you will probably love this book!

Summary: She's at it again
Review: After reading the first two Shopaholic books and finding myself laughing outloud, I was very excited to see this book. You can't help loving it, especially if you have read the first two. If you have not read the first two you will be disappointed.It would not be as funny if you didn't know the backround of Becky, aka "the Shopaholic". This is a great book, but before you give it a chance read the first two. It is a better read that way.

Summary: Entertaining As Always
Review: Becky Bloomwood is finally getting married. How much trouble could she possibly get into now? More than ever before! As always, Becky has trouble saying no, no to her pushy and autocratic future mother-in-law, no to family friends who all want to plan her wedding and of course no to more than one wedding dress. Why only have one when you can have six or seven?? The end result will keep you entertained right up to Becky's wedding day. I have been highly entertained by the adventures of Becky Bloomwood over the past few years and look forward to more by this author with her new series due out next year. Well done!
