Summary: Becky rides off into the sunset
Review: SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT is the third, and apparently last, in author Sophie Kinsella's "shop till you drop" series starring Becky Bloomwood. The preview at the end of this book introduces a new character, Emma Corrigan, first appearing in 2004 in CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET. In CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC and SHOPAHOLIC TAKES MANHATTAN, Bloomwood is continuously rendered incapable of rational thought by the euphoria of material acquisition, usually clothes and other trinkets, using credit she doesn't have. In SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT, Becky's penchant for denial and disaster ascends to a higher plane after Luke Brandon, her carried-over boyfriend from the previous book, proposes marriage. Should she be joined with her Prince back home in Oxshott, England in a garden ceremony being lovingly organized by her dear Mum and Dad for their only daughter? Or married in a posh, extremely expensive affair at New York's Plaza Hotel, paid for by her despised mother-in-law-to-be, Elinor. If you know Becky, you'll realize there's no simple answer. Choosing one and saying "no" to the other just isn't an option. Becky's ditziness has always been one of her most endearing (and exasperating) qualities (along with generosity and a basic good-heartedness), providing the reader with an unending stream of hilarious scenarios. Perhaps the single most side-splitting episode in this novel occurs when Becky's best friend Suze goes into premature labor while the two are on an afternoon outing in London. Not in possession of her going-to-the-hospital bag, Suze dispatches Becky into a department store to put one together - one that eventually includes an inflatable canoe! Because SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT is apparently Becky's swan song, the last three chapters come across as a somewhat forced attempt to tidily end the saga of a rampantly untidy personality. Because of this, I almost gave less than the usual 5 stars to a Bloomwood adventure. But, I relented in the end because this series has been so consistently entertaining. I'm grieved at Becky's departure, but am excited about Kinsella's new burst of creativity with a differently dysfunctional heroine. I guess Becky finally grew up.

Review: SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT by Sophie Kinsella The last in the three book series about Becky Bloomwood's insane adventures, SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT by Sophie Kinsella is yet another fun romp that showcases the crazy antics of this young woman who is consumed with the need to spend money. Still living in America with her very successful (and rich) boyfriend Luke, Becky is now doing what she was born to do: she's a professional shopper at a famous department store in New York City and putting together wardrobes for very high end clientele. Life couldn't be better. Then, Becky's best friend Suze is about to get married to Tarquin (who happens to be Suze's cousin, but at this point no one is saying a word) and Becky sees how happy and in love Suze is. At the wedding, in which Becky is the maid of honor, Luke and Suze conspire to have Becky catch the traditional bridal bouquet, and along with the bouquet is a note from Luke asking Becky to marry him. The shock of the engagement doesn't last very long. Becky is soon shifting to high gear. With the wedding only months away (who needs a long engagement?), they need to figure out all the details of the wedding NOW. But there's one problem: both mothers are planning the wedding, and neither mother knows the other is doing it. And Becky hasn't the heart to tell her mother that she is getting married in New York, while she is very afraid to tell her future mother-in-law that her dear mother is planning a wedding in England. What to do? Well, if you are a fan of Becky Bloomwood's, you probably have guessed that Becky's life is once again in turmoil. As the wedding date approaches at breakneck speed, she tries to figure out how to fix this mess she got herself into. You will want to throttle her neck as she comes up with one harebrained scheme after another. But as always, things work out in the end for our dear Becky. SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT was not my favorite in the series. It could be because it's no longer fresh material, as the first two books were. On the other hand, I still found myself wanting to read the book, wanting to find out how things would end for Becky. If a fourth novel was written, say "Shopaholic Has a Baby", I would certainly invest my money and buy that book. I find the SHOPAHOLIC series as endearing as the Bridget Jones escapades were, and I recommend the books to all that love some light fun reading.

Summary: ANOTHER DELICIOUS BECKY ADVENTURE!!!
Review: Well, our adorably scatterbrained Bexter is at it again. Everything seems to be great--Suze is getting married, and Becky is newly engaged to Luke. Everything seems almost perfect (well, there is that tiny matter of hiding the monthly bank statements for the joint bank account, but what't a girl to do)...almost. Becky's mum plunges headfirst into organizing a proper English wedding, while simultaneously Luke's mum Elinor sets about planning the same thing--at the Plaza in New York.
Becky's in a pickle...; what girl wouldn't want a dream wedding at the Plaza? But how can she disappoint her mum? So the planning rolls full steam ahead...on both continents!! Ignore those reviews that are overly critical, accusing the author of making up words and cites poor editing. Folks like these probably shouldn't be reading any of the Shopaholic series..perhaps MacBeth? Shopaholic fans will love this one also...but have we seen the last of the adorable Becky Bloomwood? DYB

Summary: A Must-Read book for Chick-Lit fans
Review: "Shopaholic Ties the Knot" the third book by Sophie Kinsella, deals mainly with Becky Bloomwood's marriage to Luke Brandon. The problem here was the Becky's mother was planning a backyard wedding in her home in England while Luke's rich and arrogant mother planned to hold the wedding at The Plaza, a prestigious and glamorous hotel in New York. Becky was torn between making her mother happy and having the fantasy-like wedding (with Sleeping Beauty as the theme) in The Plaza. Like the first and second books of this series, Becky got into deep trouble with her lies, when both parties planned her wedding simultaneously. On top of all this, Luke had no idea all this were happening as he was too busy helping his mother with her organization. Readers who have not read the previous two books might have trouble understanding and sympathizing with Becky as she can be perceived as annoying or irritating. However, for others, Becky was just being her usual self. I really enjoy "Shopaholic Ties the Knot" as it is funny, witty, well-written and quite frequently, I find myself laugh out loud at some of Becky's antics. I also like the way Kinsella ends the book in stylee unlike some authors who have tendencies to rush a little towards the end. I highly recommend this book as it is very uplifting, humorous and definitely a must-read book for chick lit fans.

Review: I absolutley love the shopaholic series, i seriously could not put these books down until i had them finished, luckely i bought all three at the same time and had them all to read, i can't wait until shopoholic and sister comes out, i was kinda hoping for shopaholic has a baby or somehthing, but this will do, highly recommended!!!!!!!!

Summary: Fabulous Book!
Review: I have thoroughly enjoyed the Shop series from the first book and now through the last. If you have not yet had the pleasure of reading this fun series, I suggest you do so and quickly. Becky Bloomwood is a quirky and remarkable heroine and her antics and responses to situations never fail to liven up the pages of these books.
Tie the Knot is, in my opinion, the best book in the series. The crazy way she gets in and out of situations makes for a great beach read!

Review: Becky Bloomwood has a great job as a personal shopper at Barneys in New York, her former flatmate is getting married (To her cousin) and she has a wonderful boyfriend what more could she ask for? Well as it turns out a lot. At her friends marriage (where the bride is pregnant)Becky becomes engaged to her boyfriend Luke and her mother emedialty starts to plan a great wedding at home. Unfortunitly it turns out that when the newly engaged couple gets back to New York they find out that Luke's absenty mother has planed a New York wedding at the Plaza. What is Becky going to do? The story keeps you guessing until the end when finally they become Mr. and Mrs. don't miss this great third book in the series of Shopaholic books.

Summary: Another Classic Shopaholic Story
Review: I loved the first two Shopaholic books, and it's no surprise that I loved this one, too. It's also laugh-out-loud funny and again, it was hard to put this book down. I finished it in record time. Now that my praise is known, I'll admit that I did take minor exceptions to some aspects of this book. Becky is a little older and is supposed to have "grown" as a person, but it's plain to see that while she is lovable and hard to dislike, she is in serious need of some professional psychological counseling (Luke too - he REALLY has some issues)! How many times did I want to shake Becky and say, "Just open your mouth and communicate with people!! It's really not that difficult!!" Does anyone agree? Also, her appalling lack of communication with Luke will HAVE to improve if they're going to have a successful marriage (which no doubt they will, after all). Alas, Becky always comes through in the end and pulls her chestnuts out of the fire... but I hope when Shopaholic and Sister is released (could this be Luke's half-sister Zoe Brandon??) later this year, that Ms. Kinsella doesn't put us through such agony again. We love Becky far to much!! Still a great read with a happy ending.

Review: Ohhh, How I wish I could give it five stars. The only thing missing from this one is all the shopping. Although the author does transfer her erratic obsession of shopping to not being able to say no to anyone regarding her upcoming wedding.
True to form as always, our wonderful heroine, Becky, is once again, in another jam.
Great, great author. This stuff is so much fun reading!
