Rapture in Death (In Death Series)

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: While I didn't walk into this book with high expectations (I hadn't read any of the others in the series), I was pleasantly surprised. The characters are engaging, and the story never drags.

The only quibbles I had were that the ending seemed to come rather quickly and the motivations involved didn't make a tremendous amount of sense, plus the fawning that everyone seemed to do over the main character. Everyone just loveslovesloves her, which gets old fast.

Still, it's a fun read, reminding me strongly of Laurell K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake" series.
