Review: I attended one of David Bach's classes (through The Learning Annex in SF) and then read his book... and now, 3 months later, I just got my DREAM JOB: a creative position with a start-up company, making 10k more than I was before and doing what I LOVE!! Now I have stock & insurance, too! This book will remind you to go for your dreams & not settle for less. David will remind you how the job market is - and how you can go out there and get the position and the salary you desire. David Bach is doing an amazing service for women, helping them rise above and take charge of their financial lives. Thanks David!!
Rating: Summary: Women can talk about mutual funds over lunch, too! Review: I'm a boomer and an artist, and I steadfastly avoid reading "how-to" books about where I "should-be" in my savings. Debentures sounds so much like dentures, that I steer clear of the whole Wall Street world. But David Bach's book, Smart Women Finish Rich, not only penetrated my "artistic curtain," but actually changed my woeful banking habits. His book is clear and precise, underscoring how any woman can be rich, regardless of salary. Kind of "it's-about-savings-stupid" love tap to the wallet side of your brain. Not only do I have an idea what mutual funds, bonds, stocks, T-Bills and T-Notes are, I've put together, for the first time in my life, a portfolio. And it doesn't stop there. Bach writes clearly about health and life insurance policies, and I'm currently reexamining my own. How can a person who comparison shops for canned tomatoes not do the same for insurance and pocket the difference? If you need help getting started on a savings program, don't miss this wise financial primer, written by a guy who handles portfolios worth more than half a billion dollars each year.
Rating: Summary: A must-read for women who want to live well Review: I was astounded at how much I gained from this book: not only have I been able to better define >why< I want to be financially secure, but I have been given the hope that even on a low salary, I can still make a difference in my way of living and increase my security for the future. David Bach presented all his ideas very effectively and thoroughly. Reading (and implementing) the strategies presented will forever change my life. The best part is, anyone can do it!

Rating: Summary: Every woman should own Review: Every woman should own--lots of good general knowledge.Just sent a copy to my daughter-in-law for her birthday
Rating: Summary: This book is a must-read for financial mastery! Review: As a mortgage consultant, I see many clients who have no idea where to begin with their finances. I picked this book up in the airport - and now I order it for most of my clients. Since "The Millionaire Next Door", I haven't found a financial book that was such a page turner. This book will do wonders for the way any woman or any man for that matter looks at their finances. It is a must read for financial mastery!
Rating: Summary: An essential book for every woman Review: Although I was skeptical that a man could write a worthwhile woman's book, I applaud Mr. Bach for indeed writing a thoughtful and empowering manual. It is the first financial book that I've read that gives information and then tells you what to do with that information. I read the book last month and already this month I have been able to save money--which was unheard of for me prior to reading the book. Do yourself a favor and read it!
Rating: Summary: One of the best explanations about insurance I've ever read. Review: As a psychologist, a woman, and a long time investor, I was interested in the book from many viewpoints. Although I found it all provocative and original as well as useful to men and women, Bach definitely understands how to tune in to the female perspective. The most useful part of the book for me was the section on insurance. In all the reading I've done, primarily in materials from insurance companies, I've never understood about all the different kinds of insurance, including long-term care insurance, as well as I now do after reading Bach's clear explanation.
Rating: Summary: This book makes a whole lot of "cents" Review: David Bach gives his readers a map to explore the often fear filled subject of money. It is a practical guide to assist anyone in organizing their financial life and empowering them to be prepared for the expected and unexpected aspects of money management. Through the use of "real life" examples he instills hope for even the most financially challenging situations. With even minor changes, like reducing your latte intake, you are on the road to a more secure financial future. He encouages the reader to find, secure and then invest their money in an area that has value to them. The exercises in the book are simple, but they can lead you to discover things about your relationship with money and yourself that you never knew. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who not only wants to "finish rich" but finish satisfied. Thank you David.
