Rating: Summary: James Patterson just keeps on getting better and better!!! Review: "Pop Goes The Weasal" is by far Mr. Patterson's best writing. This book keeps you on the edge and you never want to put it down!! I purchased this book from amazon.com, prior to the release date, they sent it to me on the release date and I read this book in a very short time!!! I only can say that I didn't want it to end. I sure hope Mr. Patterson is working on another book with Alex Cross in it. He has great characters and writing abilities. My favorite author!!!!
Rating: Summary: Alex Cross - thank god you're back. Review: After trying his hand - and failing miserably with - a Dean Koontzesque thriller ("When the Wind Blows"), Patterson returns with Dr. Alex Cross and scores big. If you've never read Patterson's Cross books and you like this genre, pick them up. Cross, Harry Bosch, Lou Boldt and Lucas Davenport - four names you should know if you're into thrillers. With this book, Patterson introduces a well-crafted, complex foe for Cross to battle. If you've ever read any of Patterson's Cross books before, this one won't disappoint. If you've only ever read "When the Wind Blows", don't let that scare you off - give this book a try.
Rating: Summary: a primer type book, typical of pattersons style Review: altho i admit that i enjoyed reading this book, and would love to have a friend like alex cross, the primer style writing of a much too predictable plot is a disappointment. what a pity that he enjoys the reputation that he does.
Rating: Summary: Laest two books have been major dissapointments Review: Get your act together James! You're breaking my heart with your last two novels. I want the old James Patterson back. The one I fell in love with.
Rating: Summary: "Empire Strikes Back" of Alex Cross Series Review: I am a huge fan of James Patterson's writing. I even liked "When the Wind Blows" -- a lot. However, I found this long-awaited novel sadly disappointing. "Pop Goes the Weasel" read like it was written for the movie screen rather than for the avid reader and seemed like a set-up for a sequel. It had some wonderful passages but was mostly predictable and disappointing. How could you, James?
Rating: Summary: POP goes Cross!!!!!! Review: Patterson latest shows signs of early retirement for the author. Dull, dull, and more dull. Is this the same guy who wrote "Along Came A Spider"? Even his photograph looks different.
Rating: Summary: Major geographical error Review: Patterson showed his ignorance of the DC metro area when he placed the mother-daughter murders in Fredericksburg, MD. I would assume he meant Frederick, MD, but he talked about Shafer driving south of DC, so apparently he meant to say Fredericksburg, Virginia (I live between DC and Fredericksburg, so I know!) I can't believe the editor missed that one, too.
Rating: Summary: Patterson's best to date!! A page turner for sure. Review: This was a book I couldn't put down. I read it over the weekend. I believe it's his best work to date. Will make a wonderful movie. A must see. Wish he could write just alittle faster...when's that next book's pub date? The reader wants revenge in the worst way. Just when you think there's a happy ending...bang the wind gets knocked out of you!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent read, fast paced, well written, unputdownable... Review: I have read all the Patterson books and think that this is his best so far. Buy it!
Rating: Summary: Not quite living up to his standard of excellence.... Review: Being a long time fan of Patterson and especially the Alex Cross character, I was a little disappointed in this recent go-around. Although the suspense and intrigue were there as always, there also seemed to be something else there, something out of place...too much sappy stuff. Cross is supposed to be a tough cop solving spellbiding cases and pursuing brilliant killers. It appears as though the Cross character is becoming soft. Patterson, you really need to get back to the core of the character -- a smart, "I'm gonna nail you to the wall" type of guy. Hoping the next one is a blockbuster.
