Rating: Summary: An enjoyable read Review: I enjoyed this book but I was a little annoyed that (after 400 or so pages) I was just being set up for a sequel.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointing for the highly acclaimed author. Review: I've read the other books in James Patterson's series following Alex Cross, but I must say that this was far beyond dissapointing. After a friend of mine suggested I check it out, I went immediately to buy it. It seems as if it were a story made for children with its overusage of plain disgustingness. The only reason I rate this book with any stars at all is because of the excitement of it. It went at a fairly rapid pace, and even though the plot was in one word stupid, it was a good read if you're looking for shallow. I was on the verge of putting this book down several times, but I need credit for classes, and for some reason or another reading this partiular book was said to raise my grade. I'm not so sure it will after the degrading report I give of it...
Rating: Summary: You can always keep us guessing. Review: I loved it. At times, I wanted to skip ahead to see what happens. I didn't as I was trying to be patient. The only problem that I had with the book was we didn't know what was going on with Christine. I really would have liked to know how she was coping with being kidnapped. I hope it doesn't take as long to see what happens to their relationship and now the Weasel.I am looking forward to meeting Alex Cross (James Patterson) at a book signing later this month.
Rating: Summary: Another gripping plot but a weak ending. Review: Patterson delivered another interesting character in Shafer - well developed and the central focus of the book. Too much time was spent on Nana and the kids; these characters are completely unbelievable and always have been - it's time to let them go. Some of the twists and turns went sadly unexplained and the ending was completely unrealistic, until the final chapter. Predictable? Yes. But good? Absolutely! I do look forward to the next installation, I just hope Patterson will spend more time developing the plot and less time on Nana's lame advice.
Rating: Summary: What happened to James Patterson? Review: Boring, predicatable, Alex Cross is getting old and tired way to early in his literary career. Please, lets see a better effort the next time around.
Rating: Summary: Same Ole, Same Ole, but not all bad Review: For someone who has obviously spent a fair amount of time in and around D.C. I can't understand the geographical errors. James, do you think you could cram any more corporate plugs in your book.
Rating: Summary: A huge disappointment Review: Loved all previous Alex Cross, but should have know Patterson was losing it when he wrote that "Butterfly girl" sci-fi wannabe. Who was that man disguised as Alex? And the bad guy? - - couple of sick scenarios, but no suspense or backbone. What a bore! Save your money.
Rating: Summary: One of his best efforts; can't wait for the sequel! Review: This villain is truly nasty - I loved to hate him
Rating: Summary: Disappointment after such a long wait Review: I just finished reading the book and have to say that I was a little disappointed with it. In comparison to the previous four Alex Cross novels the story took me along to time to get into and I didn't have the same "can't put it down" feeling as with the others. I also have to say that two years between novels in a series is way to long. When you have a hero as well-developed as Alex Cross you continue with the sucessful formula as soon as possible.
Rating: Summary: Who really wrote this book? Review: What has happened to James Patterson? I am reminded of the Sean Dillon series of novels by Jack Higgins. I swear to this day that someone else is writing the Dillon novels and putting Higgins name on them. Do writers sub-contract? And now we have Pop Goes The Weasel. Either someone else wrote this book or Mr. Patterson himself is somewhat bipolar. I found myself frustrated through nearly the whole book. The manner in which Christine is kidnapped, held for such a long time and not harmed at all is so totally unbelievable that I am embarrassed for Patterson for having conceived it. I just hope now that John Sandford doesn't fall Prey to the affliction that has struck Mr.Higgins and Mr. Patterson.
