Rating: Summary: EXCITING in many ways but a little unbelievable Review: I have read all of James Pattersons books and I have to say that this is one of the better ones. The only thing I don't like is when the other three horsemen start to worry about "Death" why didn't they just drop all communications to him? If they had been real people I bet that is what they would have done. Other than that I thought it was one of JP's best books! I love the Alex Cross books and can't wait for the next one!
Rating: Summary: Disappointed--not the usual Patterson Review: Maybe he wrote this one too fast. Not up to his usual superior level of his past novels. Plot, what there was, moved at a snails pace and what was that all about? Christine having his baby in the jungles of Jamaca--come on!
Rating: Summary: Have a helping of Thriller Lite Review: Because so much of this book is either formulaic or contrived, you can read about every 10th word and manage to finish in an hour or two. Don't put more time than two hours into it. Patterson likes to have his characters make unwarranted pronouncements such as the old black lady who considers herself (and states outright that she is) morally superior to all white people. This is facile. Let the characters act, and have the author develop a theme, rather than throw in some poorly-conceived moral. Alex Cross could be a great character under the pen of a better author. Rating: Summary: Good start ...boring middle to end Review: I am an avid Patterson reader ! This is not the book you would recommend for "first time" Patterson readers. The book started out exciting, but it got very boring, unrealistic and predictable towards the middle to the end.
Rating: Summary: If I wanted soap opera, I'd watch TV Review: Beyond a stinker! What happened to the tension, the drama, the STORY? I'm a reader, but I knew all along what was going to happen, maybe I should take up the pen. Totally predictable, and nine months later, a BABY! Too, too trite, with the funky clue planted too obviously. UGH, I'm not going to buy one of his again, will check it out at the library, maybe, and save my money for a good book.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: This is a really fun and quick book! I read somewhere that people criticize Patterson for being unrealistic. The criticism is accurate although it should be said approvingly of the Alex Cross novels. Granted, there aren't too many doctor psychologists in police forces that are perfect physical specimens and decide to live in the inner city; but then I ask, don't we need heroes like Alex Cross? So what if it is unrealistic! I can turn on the 11pm news for all of the depressing realities. Take a couple hours away from reality and READ THIS BOOK: it is well worth it! PEACE
Rating: Summary: Highly disappointing Review: The book starts off as all of Patterson's novels...a fast paced page turner. But it quickly becomes boring and predictable. It had none of what Patterson does best. And I was acually angry after i read the final few chapters. The only reason to read this one is to prepare you for the next novel. It's a crime to all Alex Cross fans.
Rating: Summary: I really loved the book. Review: I really like this book it kept me turning the pages it was very interesting, I just hope Mr. Patterson is working on the next book about Alex Cross since we know that Shafer isn't dead and I hope it isn't going to take two years to do it.
Rating: Summary: HIS BEST YET (WRITE FASTER JAMES PATTERSON) Review: In the first 10 days I had this book, 4 people read it. It was so good and intense, I could hardly put it down. I needed to get to the end but was disappointed at the same time that the book had ended :( MORE MORE MORE JP. An enjoyable read for any and all.
Rating: Summary: Another Alex Cross Masterpiece! Review: Pop Goes The Weasel has topped my books read so far in 1999. Fantastic Alex Cross experience of suspense. I'm happy for Alex & Christine. I held quite a bit of hope in my heart that she was ok. Geoff Shafer is another amazing and shocking character. As for Nana and the kids. Keep 'em in the books. They are and must be a part of every Alex Cross suspense thriller. Great job Mr. Patterson.
