Summary: Not the Patterson I have come to expect
Review: While I enjoyed the characterization a great deal (Patterson is wonderful with putting the reader into a character), the story, I felt was thin on plot compared to his past works. I found myself asking, is there something the author is holding back until later in the story? I was disappointed to discover there wasn't...the book was too predictable, also. The villain was probably the most convincing character. Patterson remains a gifted writer, but I have a feeling fans might feel a little let down by this formulaic storyline.

Summary: Hey, this would be easy to abridge
Review: Why? Well, the guy can't write. Not only does he need a ruthless editor who could send it back with a note saying "Please do not use a thesaurus until you've read more widely." He needs a reader who doesn't mind characters who have no depth and little hint of anything below the surface.

Summary: Weasel reminds me of Spider
Review: I have read all of the Alex Cross books and am always very pleased with them. I find it impossible to put these books down until I finish them. While very fast paced and generally exciting, I found this book very reminiscent of Along Came A Spider. The profile of the serial killer is almost exactly like Gary Soneji. The murders have a similar feel and the split/dual personalities of the killers are a lot alike. I still think that this book is worth buying, because it is definitely an exciting read, that will make you want more and more, even after you are done reading the entire book.

Summary: AN OK BOOK!
Review: I really didn't find this book as facinating as I thought I would, I did come to hate the villian, and felt close to the characters. ..an easy read. If you want to another read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever.

Summary: Second strike - next one and he's out!
Review: What a disappointment! I didn't think things could get much worse after the "Wind Blows" disaster, but this book is terrible. Talk about unbelievable. And, it's full of holes and outright plot errors. In the past, a Patterson book was a delight to read, but his last two have been a waste of time and money.

Summary: Sinking Patterson Fan
Review: I was hooked on Patterson's writings from Along Came A Spider and have read every book since. After the disappointment of When The Wind Blows, I was looking for that "can't put it down" feeling from his other novels. Throughout the first half of the book all I found was a sorry attempt at a love story (no thanks)...but giving Patterson his dues the book did end with bringing the actual serial story together with some interesting (yet mostly unrealistic) scenes. Overall if you are a Patterson fan, it should be read but much of it you will expect...if you have not been a Patterson fan, it will blow you away.

Summary: Very shallow writing
Review: I thought this was one of his worst books. The writing was very shallow, the character development was weak. The author did not exploit the characters feelings in any significant way. When one's fiance is kidnapped and disappears for over a year, you would expect more from the loss than the occasional sentence indicating that he still felt bad. I found myself reading the story and wondering what else the author had going on in HIS life, obviously he wasn't real interested in writing this book. I felt like the author was in a hurry to write the book, and I found myself hurrying through the book so I could get on to something better.

It left me still hungry for a story.

Summary: 2 Dogs in a row for Patterson
Review: I am so disappointed in this new Alex Cross novel. So simple and the ending was worse than The Client (and that's tough to top)

Summary: The best James Patterson novel!
Review: When I saw this book at Best Buy, I had to get it. I like reading James Patterson novels with Alex Cross, then I noticed he was in it. After I read it, I was happy. This whole book has like a message that is telling you to keep reading the book. I think that this was the best Alex Cross stories I had read so far. I am waiting for a sequel and I am determined if James Patterson is going to write one. So to the people that like reading James Patterson books, then you really have to get this book. It is full of suprises and it makes you to hate the villian.

Summary: Patterson continues his excellent writing
Review: I read this book in one sitting! This book picks up where Patterson's previous book with Alex Cross left off. When is the next episode coming? Please write these books faster.
