Rating: Summary: A good read but it falls short of Cat and Mouse. Review: After reading Cat and Mouse, I was eagerly awaiting the release of Pop Goes the Weasel. However, I was disappointed in James Patterson's latest novel. I believe there were a few things wrong with this book. First, the chilling suspense present in his other books was virtually nonexistent here and there was no mystery nor interesting plot twists. Second, while the villian was evil and twisted as usual, he was not as cunning and scary as Mr. Smith nor Gary Soneiji were in the previous novels. If you are a die hard Alex Cross fan then you would enjoy this book but it falls short of the chilling suspense and interesting plot twists that we all come to love and expect from Mr. Patterson.
Rating: Summary: Not his best Review: I ordered this a few weeks ago along with The Triumph and the Glory and the Harry Potter books and this is the only one of the five that didn;t measure up to my expectations. Pop Gies the Weasel just sort of fell flat, the plot drifted about, the characters were rather wooden, and the suspense and tension were nowhere near the levels I've been accustomed to from Patterson.
Rating: Summary: Pop Goes the Weasel Review: After the last one Yuk! I picked up this one and could not put it down. Wow! I thought the book except for the reunion at the end was very good.
Rating: Summary: Pop Goes the Weasel Review: Sloopy! Too far fetched! Example: When Weasel goes to trial, why don't they attempt to use the evidence from the old cab? After Alex has chased this guy for almost five hundred pages the ending was like McDonalds when you expect steak. Did Weasel kill the cop? Seems kind of convenient and almost an afterthought as to how Christine got mixed up with "War". Been a fan of the other two books but, in my opinion, this one is not one of Mr. Patterson's best efforts. However, he is still making a ton of money and I paid the twenty something dollars for this sorry effort.
Rating: Summary: Did not want it to end! Review: I have been hooked on James Patterson since Along Came a Spider. I am always anxious for new books about Alex Cross to be written. I was not disappointed by this book at all! I highly recommend it, altho I will say it is hard to put down - so do not begin it before the holidays if you want to get all of your work done!
Rating: Summary: Another page turner Review: After reading the reviews I really didn't know what to expect. What I got was yet another of James Patterson's page turners. It may very well not be his best, but I didn't put it down until I had finished it. The characters were familiar and they were embroiled in a scenario that actually could happen. I found the family scenes to be an antidote to the poisonous atmosphere Dr. Cross works in, day after day. It aided in understanding his motivation and ethic. I found the ending chilling and the prospect of meeting The Rider on the Pale Horse in a future Patterson novel intriguing.
Rating: Summary: Disapointed Review: This is one of the most disapointing books I've read in a long time. It was hard to believe it came from the same author as When the Wind Blows which was just superb. I have a hard time with books that are suppose to have the dots connecting especially when the 1st 3/4's of the book connect and in the final third they don't so that a sequal can be written! Don't waste your money!
Rating: Summary: pop goes the plot Review: After reading Kiss the Girls and Cat and Mouse, I was eagerly awaiting the release of Pop Goes the Weasel. However, I was very disappointed in James Patterson's latest novel. I believe that several things were wrong with this book. First, the chilling suspense present in his other books was virtually nonexistent here. While there were some tense moments in the plot, there was no mystery nor interesting plot twists. Second, while the villian was evil and twisted as usual, he was not as cunning as Gary Soneiji nor Mr. Smith. Third, the courtroom scenes were flat and predictable. Finally, the ending was disappointing. Patterson tried to build up some momentum but the situation was quickly diffused and left me wanting more suspense and excitement. Actually, the very end was too cutesy and sugary. I felt as if I were watching a tv movie of the week rather than reading one of James Patterson's novels. In sum, what Patterson tried to do here was write a screenplay rather than write a suspense/mystery novel. What a shame.
Rating: Summary: Waste of time and money Review: Usually I enjoy Patterson's books, but this one leaves a lot to be desired. This is my least favorite of all his books. He probably should have worked on it a couple more months. Read his other books this one isn't worth the money.
Rating: Summary: good james Review: This is one of patterson's most entertaining stories yet. Alex Cross is his typical brillant self & the villian is more twisted and confusing than ever. If you were sucked in to the earlier stories, you won't be able to put this one down.
