Rating: Summary: Finally found it! Review: The above review says that this book will last forever in the reader's imagination. How true! I was read this book in my fifth grade class and now, at age 20 I have finally tracked down the book to read again. What motivated me to search for it was the recent box-office hit, the Green Mile. The end of this movie is different from Tuck, but presented me with similar a question: Which truly is better--to live forever on this earth and watch your loved ones pass from it, or to pass from it with them into the unknown? Babbitt's imagination gives readers the opportutity to explore the choice that, perhaps thankfully, we do not have to make.
Rating: Summary: A blast from the past Review: This was my favorite childhood book. I dragged my copy around until it fell apart. I'm 23 now, and the story is as beautiful, poignant, and heartbreaking as ever. I love the thought provoking finale...Why did Winnie make the choice she did? What would I do in her situation? To drink or not to drink, that is the question!
Rating: Summary: This book is fabulous for any child with a great imagination Review: This book is a wonderful book for children who may feel as if they are still searching for the meaning and/or purpose for life. It tests their imagination so that they must look beyond fact and look a bit into fiction. Babbitt also does a fabulous job describing the characters in great detail to where each and every reader may identify with at least one, if not more than one, of the characters. It interests a child much more when they are able to step into the book and compare their life to one of the character's. I give the book 4 stars because I recall having read it when I was withint the age range which is preferred for the book and I remember following it well and ejoying quite well, too. One thing that every child has which is theirs and no one can take it from them is their imagination and this is a great book that brings that out in them.
Rating: Summary: I read this book at school, it teaches you about life+death Review: When winnie foster descovers a cute teen in her woods, things get wacky. She is kidnapped by the Tucks, and Mae, the mom, explains to her about the spring and their story. She learns that if you lived forever, there would be some problems. This book is a really good book that will leave you thinking that living forever isn't all that good.
Rating: Summary: This book was OK a little bit. Review: This book had a nice conlfict, but it need to be improved. It need to have more action. It was nice for someone in a lower grade than me (6).
Rating: Summary: way to go Winnie! Review: I love this book! We read it in school, and I'm just DYING to know what Jesse's reaction is to Winnie not drinking from the spring! If ou're ever bored, read this book! If you don't, you'll regret it!
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: Tuck Everlasting was one of the best books i have read this year. It is set back in the mid-late 1800'sin a small town. The Tucks are a family that that got what most peoples dream of an ideal life but for them it has become reality. They were moving and ran into a spring on the way. they were of course thirst and did not think twice about not drinking from it. A series of events that happened made them believe the spring was magic.. after living with this secret for many years there worst nightmare came true. Someone else stumbled across the spring. To the Tuck's suprise it was a 10 year old girl, Winnie Foster. While the Tucks were telling Winnie her secret a misterious man was listening in and might ruin Winnies and the Tuck's lives forever.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT Book! Review: Tuck Everlasting is an intense bookwith so many twists and turns. The only downfall are the plot holes such as someone might have found the spring maybe some kids were playing and threw a frisbee into the wood and gone to get it.Another plot hole is that why would the Tucks go into the woods if it was so unnattractive.Other than this it is a great book.
Rating: Summary: Tuck Everlasting really is a remarkable fiction story Review: Tuck everlasting, an interesting book, was one of may favorite books that I have read this year. This book has wonderful suspense, like the man in the yellow suit, Natalie Babbit never gives his name. This book is all about a ten-year-old girl, Winnie, who runs away from her misery at home. Thirsty and tired in the woods next to her house, she sees a boy drinking from a spring and wants to drink some water. Kidnapped and surprised, she is a true hero when she rescues Mae Tuck from jail on a stormy night. This book is truly a sensation and will give readers an imagination of what it would be like to be the Tucks, the Everlasting Tucks.
Rating: Summary: Tuck Everlasting OK, but not 5-star quality Review: Tuck Everlasting was just not my kind of book. One reason was it took place so long ago, with few, if any, modern amenities. The describing was loose and sketchy, so it would be hard to quiz on. And my last word, there are just so many Tucks it is hard not to get confused. But it was OK.
