Rating: Summary: Definitely a keeper Review: "Danny and the Dinosaur" was my favorite book growing up and I still have my hardcover copy that my mother read to me every night. I had the entire thing memorized. It's a timeless classic story about a boy and a day filled with adventure with his friend, who just so happens to be a Dinosaur. I'm keeping this book for my children and hopefully for their children as well.
Rating: Summary: A book kids and parents will both enjoy... Review: A boy meets a dinosaur in a museum and the dinosaur follows him home for a visit. This fantasy appeals to a child's desire to befriend the creatures that fascinate them. It's a gentle story, with no sad or scary parts. The dinosaur and the boy do "cool" things together, but also treat one another, and others, kindly.
Rating: Summary: My 8 year old son Alex says this book is super-d-dooper! Review: Alex says "I like the pictures and the story."
Rating: Summary: Great KIDS book ... Review: As a KID I was amazed and caught up with this book and othesr from the collection. To this day I read them - and when my kids are old enough to read I will continue the family legacy.
Rating: Summary: A Classic Review: AS I think back on my childhood htere are several books that helped to make me an advid reader. DANNY AND THE DINOSAUR is most definitely one. It is a pleasant story of a boy and his dinosaur. The adventures they have together are simple and beautiful. I remember reading this story over and over until the book was worn out. I remember sharing it with other children and reccomending it to many parents. It is a simple, fun, easy story that will lift your spirits and will encourage children to fall in love with books.
Rating: Summary: childhood treasure Review: I absolutely adored this book as a child and am so thrilled tobe able to purchase it for my 3 year old son. I am sure that it willbecome a bedtime favorite of his just as it was mine so many years ago! I have never forgotten the name of this book and have looked forward to reading it to my children for as long as I can remember.
Rating: Summary: This book is a MUST have Review: I am a 28 year old mother of one. I remember reading Danny and the Dinosour when I was a child. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed this book so much, that as a child, I memorized it, word for word, and then I would recite it back, without missing a word. I can't wait for my daughter to read this book, and I plan on purchasing it for her now, even though she is only 8 months old.
Rating: Summary: NEPHEW LOVES IT Review: I bought this book for my nephew Wyatt who is in second grade and he loves this book. He must have read this book millions of times over. I loved this book as a kid and I think that it has helped him take an interest in reading. The story is great, I love the illustrations and I think that the dinosaur is COOL and CUTE. A timeless classic. I love Danny and the Dinosaur GOES TO CAMP and the birthday book. I have read a lot of SYD HOFF books when I was a kid. THEY'RE GREAT.
Rating: Summary: Danny Helped Me Learn to Read Review: I first reviewed Syd Hoff's "Danny and the Dinosaur" as a seven year-old. In second grade, we called it a book report, but my feelings on the book haven't changed. Danny's adventure includes a visit to the ballpark, which still has me smiling. Also, like hiding an elephant, Danny discovers playing hide-and-seek with a dinosaur can be difficult.
While the writing and drawings aren't on par with "Make for Ducklings," or "Mike Milligan and the Steam Shovel," it capably compares to H. A. Rey's "Curious George" series. "Clifford, the Big Red Dog" readers will connect with Danny playing with an oversized lizard.
The text is simple, and the story is sweet, unencumbered by the intentional messaging found in many modern children's books. It is just a fun, silly story. It helped me learn to read and to love books. Maybe Danny's tale can help your son or daughter read too.
I fully recommend "Danny and the Dinosaur" by Syd Hoff.

Rating: Summary: My own book Review: I thought this book was alright but it was not the best book I have ever read. I liked the way Danny went to the museum and the dinosaur came to life and took Danny to all those places, including the baseball game that they went to. I wish that I could go and get my own dinosaur and we could do all that stuff, but since the dinosaurs are extinct I guess I could not do that. I still like the book.
