Rating: Summary: The Best of the Series so far Review: More woe for the Baudelaire orphans. Uncle Monty's a dear (and he's got snakes!) but doomed caretaker. The orphans seem their happiest here; Klaus has a library full of books, Violet can invent snake traps and Sunny can play with the viper. My sons, ages 8 and 12, really like these books.
Rating: Summary: Even MORE ENJOYABLE than the Harry Potter series! Review: Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the Harry Potter Books, but these books just go above and beyond everything that makes a book fun to read, enjoyable, and of high quality. This book is about the three orphans Sunny, Klaus, and Violet, when they go to live with their Uncle Monty (full name Montgomery Montgomery). When a new servant (Stephano) comes to the house, he seems familiar, to familiar.... This book is slightly better than the first book (A Bad Beginning), and Lemony Snickett never fails to impress! Keep up the good work, Lemony!
Rating: Summary: Lemony Snicket Review: How Awsome! This was the best book by Lemony. Well, Thankfullyhe's writing a 3rd and 4th book! If you want to e-mail him it'slsnicket@harpercollins.com! See ya
Rating: Summary: A satisfying second round Review: Continuing in the Goreyesque manner of the first book, The Reptile Room delivers the delightfully miserable story of our three heros. A smart, and sly narrative keeps this one a page-turner, and the author's almost non sequitur mentality raise this book (and series)high above the dull, run of the mill, "kiddie-adventures". As with the first, charming illustrations head the chapters, and the narrators devilish tone helps keep the humor of the situation ever present. I look forward to the third entry in the series. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: It just gets better and better! Review: The Reptile Room is in the same format as The Bad Beginning, which is to say, it's excellent!! I love both of these books and am eagerly awaiting The Wide Window, the 3rd book in this series. Keep up the good work Mr. Snicket!!
Rating: Summary: The Reptile Room Review: I thought that The Reptile Room was one of the happiest ones in the series. They are sent to live with a herpetologist named Dr. Montgomery Montgomery. Count Olaof appeared, causing unhappiness in their lives and tried to get the Baudelaire fortune.
Rating: Summary: Snakebite Review from Alex Review:
The Reptile Room, the second book in a series of eleven. This book is one you'll remember. It's about the three Baudelaire children: Sunny, Violet, and Klaus. Violet, the oldest, is an inventor, Klaus, the middle, is excellent reader, and Sunny, the youngest, and likes to bite things. After their parent's death, they were left under the care of Mr. Poe. He sends the Baudelaires to live with people like the dreaded Count Olaf who is out to steal their fortunes. First the Baudelares learn there going to live with their Uncle Monty. After meeting Monty, he shows them the reptile room, a room where he keeps all of his creatures he has found. Uncle Monty's deadliest creature was the Incredibly Deadly Viper. But the deadliest of everybody was Stephano, Uncle Monty's assistant. The Bauldelaire's get a suspicion about this so-called Stephano. This book is a keepsake and I could read it again and it still would be funny, interesting, and good for families.
