Rating: Summary: A Heartwarming Story About a Man and His Journey thru Life Review: Tuesday's with Morrie is a touching story about an old man whose traveling dangerously close to death. He was a professor some years ago and one of his dearly beloved students comes to revisit him and rekindle there lost friendship. This student was Mitch Albom, and this professor was Morrie Schwartz. The reason for Mitch's return after many years was a recent article talking of Morrie's enlightenment into death. As this book progresses it draws the reader in and really let's them see how Morrie views death, life, and the world. Morrie also has daily euphuisms and these are like flashes of inspiration, which help lighten a path that may be dark. Tuesday's With Morrie is a great book that can really change a reader's outlook on life, and give them a whole new reason to live. Enjoy life for as long as you can for in the words of Morrie, "We are not waves, we're part of the ocean.

Rating: Summary: Life Essentials 101 Review: Everyday life can really just turn into one insignificant day after another. This book has the special effect of jolting the reader out of this inertia. With hundreds of inspirational/ self help books out there, it takes something really great to stand out. The author keeps the readers glued with a mix of genuine sincerity and fabulous literary savvy. I won't be surprised if people will turn into instant bookworms after feeling the spiritual high of indulging in this masterpiece. Interesting to notice is the similarity of this book with the Og Mandino classic "The Return of the Ragpicker" also about an old guy taking this young guy under his wing. I guess the loving relationships between men can be a breath of fresh air in this world that does not promote such values. I just hope that I get the chance to leave this world and really say that my life was rich with loving relationships. But if not, maybe I'll do better the next time we meet again....
Rating: Summary: Tuesdays with Morrie Review: I liked this book because it showed that a teacher and a student could have a great relationship outside of the classroom as friends. I also think that Mitch and Morrie became closer as the story ended. Mitch Albom also caught the spirt of his teacher through words which I think is hard for a lot of people to do. This book is one of the best books that I have ever read. I recommend this book to anyone who has lost contact with their favorite teacher,or someone who has inspired them to do better in life, and also to understand themselves.
Rating: Summary: Tuesdays With Morrie Review: This true story is a warm-hearted, yet saddening story about a professor and his favorite pupil, who is the author of this novel. Morrie Schwartz, the professor who was diagnosed with ALS, was more than just Mitch's teacher of school, but he was his teacher of life. The novel was named for Mitch's weekly visits with Morrie after losing touch with him for many years after college graduation. Instead of Morrie giving in to his disease, he decided to make life what it should be. He lived it like he would not see the next sun rising. He taught Mitch about compassion (how everyone should have lots of it), life (how everyone should live it to the fullest extent), love (how everyone should simply love one another and the world would be a much happier place), and death (how no one should be afraid of it, because everyone has to deal with it one time in their life). Mitch would audiotape their conversations, because he wanted to remember everything that they had talked about. Morrie was such a profound speaker. Everyone wanted to listen to everything he said. When Morrie would talk to anyone, he would listen like there was no one else on the earth. He made everyone feel important and special. He did not give into the disease even as he lied in bed, breathing his last few breaths. He held his head high, and died respectfully just like he wanted to.
Rating: Summary: Just read it! Review: I'm not suppose to retell the book but share my feeling about. This book doesn't change my life. Most of Morrie's ideas I felt inside myself but I couldn't express them in the words. "Tuesdays with Morrie" helped me express it. Especially I like Morrie's aphorisms - brief and clear expressions reflected his ideas. One of them: "We are not waves, we are part of the ocean" touched me so deep that even it inspired me to create a short poem (see beneath). Because it's really so true. It helps us to make "peace with living" inside us, to accept the idea that everything that is born will die sometime and it's natural. And we will not disappear, we continue to live in other forms and still be the "part of the ocean". I never stop believing and breathing, I never stop loving. I will be a drop in the blue sea. I will diffuse in the sky. And there will be a sunrise in May And maybe sea's sands. Or maybe I will rise to the sky As a merry summer breeze. I will be sailing ship and sail, I will be a tree and some leaves. And never disappear forever, I will transform myself in Love.

Rating: Summary: The Coach. Review: Only few seconds the journalist from The Detroit Free Press Mitch Albom needed to write this true story, when he caught his old professor on the "Nightline" interview. From the "snapshot" pupil and coach made this final thesis "Tuesdays with Morrie." This true story in that author describes his coach's final days, as he was dying from a terminal illness(Lou Gehrig's disease). The coach teaches his aphorisms. Mitch paid a lot of attention to his professor. The writer skips the sentimental part and replaces it with affection and gratitude. I learned about life and how to take care of one family or friend, when he/she has a terminal illness.
