Summary: A Bookshelf Treasure
Review: This book takes about 1 hour to read but you can't put it down!!! Celebrating life , treasuring family and friends that you love is so important. This book reminds the reader why we are here.Morrie Shwarz is a retired professor and Mitch Albom is an old student of his that rejoins him every Tuesday afternoon. This happened by shear luck when Mitch saw Morrie on a television spot describing his plight with Lou Gehrig's disease. Mitch is a busy sportwriter but is driven to spend more time with Morrie because he is inspired by him. Morrie revals in life and dances all the way to his grave. Morrie Schwarz truly captured the essence of what living is all about. This book is one you can page through when you have had a hectic day and need some inspiration. It helps you see that life is too short to forget those you love.

Summary: A must-read
Review: I gave it to one of my PhD supervisors because I was so
grateful that she was willing to share her time and
knowledge. Here was her response:

"It's left me with thinking about life and what one makes
of it. Aren't authors clever in how they manage to get you
to think about things - its a book about a bloke dying but
is just excellent on living life honourably and with
gentleness.

"You were right in the 'one sitting' - compulsive once one
has started! But I now will go back and re-read and get
more of that wisdom."

Summary: Logical Morrie, Ilogical Book
Review: Tuesdays With Morrie, by Mitch Albom has a fairly simple plot, but many different aspects are covered in the story. The story revolves around an old man in his late seventies, Morrie, and his former student, Mitch, who comes back to visit him after he develops ALS, a disease that moves up your body paralyzing you as it goes. Once it gets to your lungs, you can't breath anymore, so you die. After Mitch graduates from college, he promises his professor, Morrie, that he will come and visit him. Not until Mitch sees Morrie on television does he go and visit his old professor.
Despite Morrie's logical thinking and wonderful personality, unless you like books with sentimental value, you're not going to like this one. This is the reason that I would not recommend this book. It was way too sad and depressing to think that this bright, intelligent man with so many great memories is going to die, just like that. The book was also a little slow. It wasn't very exciting to read, so if you're into adventure, I wouldn't suggest that you read this book.

Summary: Tuesdays With Morrie
Review: Tuedays With Morrie is a deeply felt book about life and how everyone must struggle with death. This book was well written and seems to capture the utmost essence of the human soul.

The best part of this book is when Morrie finally dies. The release of Morrie is touching, sad, and uplifting all at the same time. The way the author describes the college professor's death is ravishing.

Mitch was the most vividly expressed character in the book. You can see every detail of his feelings and personality through the author's description. His struggles with the effects of his dying college professor are almost too deep to explain. I definately give Tuesdays With Morrie two thumbs up!!!

Summary: A Sportscaster writes an increidble perspective...
Review: I found this book to be very useful to anyone dealing with friends or family going through the dying process. It provided a lot of insight and a different take on death and dying. His writing style allows a wide variety of people to connect with his experience.

Summary: A Great Book about Love
Review: I love this book. I didn't put it down once I started until I finished the whole book. This is a great book that touches your heart. Although most of the lessons that the author tries to convey are nothing new, he still does a very good in touching a reader's heart, let it be love between a teacher and a student, love between husband and wife, love between brothers, love between father and son. This book is not an lengthier version of your ordinary 'chicken soup' stories but rather a very well put together piece of work.

Summary: Tuesdays with Morrie
Review: This book is a true story between a mentor and his student. This book teaches you life's greatest lessons about love, life, friends, and family. In this book you meet Morrie Schwartz who was a sociologists at Brandeis University, and one of his many students Mitch Albom. After about two decades Morrie and Mitch are reunited. Morrie now has a terminal illness and spends some of his last months with Mitch. They meet every Tuesday in Morrie's office like they used to back in college. Even though Morrie is very sick he still teaches Mitch everything he has to know about life.

Summary: Thank you greatly Morrie!
Review: This was such a neat book to read! After I started with the first page, I couldn't put it down until it was over!
I myself have had a very near death experience that made me very able to relate with Morrie's situation. It brought many great feelings of joy to my mind! It is already 2:30 am and I am usually asleep by 10:00 pm, but like I said, there was no stopping once I started reading! Then right after I finished wiping the tears of joy that were left on my face after the last sentences, I had to write you and tell you my wonderful feelings
about this project. I'm not sure that I am sending this to the correct location, I just wanted to share my opinion.
Even though my mother gave this to me for Christmas, I know her intentions were for me to lend it to her to read. But, I've already told her, "Only if she FORSURE returns it back!"
Thank you very much Mr. Mitch Albom for sharing your wonderful story with the world!

Summary: A Lesson before Dying, a Teacher till the end.
Review: This is the true story of a man who spends the last weeks of his life leaving a message through recorded interviews with one of his students. The resulting book has luckily reached the world and graced the New York Times Bestseller list for well over a year.

Morrie is dying of Lou Gehrig's disease also known as ALS and his student Mitch, the author of this book has come back to spend quality time with him after 16 years spent in the business world. "Tuesday mornings" is their time together and Morrie, though paralyzed and gasping for every breath, is imparting knowledge till the end.

Over the years he has found a purpose and how to fill his life with joy. He has learned that it is not the material things in life that make it worthwhile, but the people and the giving, the feeling of being whole and a connection to the universe through participation.

This is a remarkable book for all ages filled with insights and revelations that recharge and reaffirm the reader. TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE will stay a part of you forever; a rare glimpse at a remarkable human being.... 1/06/02
