Summary: A wonderful book
Review: I'm not an easy cryer, but this book really does touch your heart and make you realize or remember what the important things are - and who the important people are - in your life. I'm not a Mitch Albom fan by any means, but I was pleasantly surprised to see he could write such a heartfelt book. I've recommended it to all my friends.

Summary: Meet Morrie Schwartz...
Review: When I first looked at the insde of this book's cover, I decided this was a book I was not going to be interested in. I'm 15 years old...what do I want to know about dying? But in fact, this book is about life, and the way you live it.

Mitch Albom began his college career as a teenager looking for kicks, but once he began classes with Morrie, his entire outlook changed. Morrie taught Albom that being happy and being successful have to go hand in hand.

Fast forward 10 years. Morrie is dying from a muscular disease. Albom happens to see him on a television news show. Albom begins seeing Morrie once a week for "classes" on The Meaning of Life. From these classes he learns not only about the wonderful mentor teaching him, but also about himself. The "graduation" is Morrie's funeral.

This story expresses the feelings of a man living with, not dying from, disease. The lessons Albom carries away from his once-weekly conferences are inspirational to us all.

Summary: Preachy easy read.
Review: I wasn't really touched until the very very end. I thought the message got awfully preachy, but some things ran true. It has motivated me to write a letter to my favorite teacher who I haven't seen in 15 years...or at least think about doing it, for now.

Summary: Great Lessons A Must Read!!

Summary: A touching, wonderful story that everyone should read.
Review: I am in the middle of reading this story and I have to say that it is one of the best books that I have ever read. (a close race between this story and Angela's Ashes!) The lessons that this book teaches are things that takes people a lifetime to realize. I am in awe that this man was able to see thing with such clarity before death. One of the most touching things about the story is his lack of self pity, his selflessness, and his compassion for others in his time of need. It has made me re-evaluate who I am and how I spend my time. As I turn each page and I learn more and more about the things in life that I take for granted and I realize that I don't want to do that anymore. Every moment that you spend with the people you love, who love you, is prescious. I think that this book should be required reading and I definitely will be passing it on to my family and friends when I am done.

Summary: Disappointed: Mitch's Lesson's...
Review: Not the last great lesson in a general sense. It's Mitch's lesson. Granted - Morrie Schwartz (sp ?) doles out jewels on his deathbed. But Mr. Albom had lost such sight of life, and himself, that those jewels just aren't that hard to find. It's Morrie's death march that opens his eyes to his life, one we can readily see is as empty as he comes to believe. Enlightening to Mitch, yes, but to the reader?

Summary: If you have a heart, this book will find it.
Review: Okay. It isn't Shakespeare. But real truths ALWAYS seem simple once someone else has captured them for us. I just thought that this was a wonderful book that reminded me of truths forgotten and taught me a few new truths as well.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Touching but not real.
Review: Everyone should read it the old, the young, the rich, the poor, the sick, the healthy; yet make sure that you don't forget there are no Morries!

Rating: 5 stars
