Rating: Summary: conscience and Budda's heart Review: My friend(he was also my colleague) gave me this book after my sister died in cancer. At that time, I loss my job and worse of all , I can't find my way anymore. It seems had nothing to do except thinking about her, even though I knew I most face the truth. Finally, I wrote a story about my sister and me (specially about how she face the disease ). It's just a notes to let me remember her and never forget it . When I read the book , I found that I had the same emotion like Mr. Morrie . I used to read the book as all my colleagues went to lunch , and I cried every time.(the cry sometimes like laugh in tears drop.) But Mr. Morrie not only let me think about my sister but also about Beethoven. Both of them have a religious heart , they consider about people more about them. I respect Mr.Morrie because he really can worm my heart like a teacher(He is the best) and no more feel sad about my sister who dying young.
Rating: Summary: Such a great little book! Review: In our age of greed and moral deterioration, this book proved to be very refreshing. Mitch Albom's simple presentation makes it a very easy read. Even then, emotions seem to jump from its pages. I was deeply moved and inspired. Worth every minute and every cent!
Rating: Summary: The most spiritual and enlightening book ever releaced! Review: This is the best book that I have ever read. The way that Moore shows no pity to him self since he is dying and always focuses on other people and influsing them in what is death like and how to face it. I would recommend this book for everyone ages 13-210 this was on GREAT BOOK THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT READING!
Rating: Summary: Wisdom tempered by reality Review: I was first referred to this book by a friend who said she had purchased multiple copies and given them as gifts. As soon as i read the book I knew why and passed my copy on to my oldest son who is a college senior struggling to find a direction in life. Morrie is the kind of person we all wish we could be more like - accepting of our situation in life, realistic about what we are capable of, and filled with a zest for learning and for living. The tragedy of Morrie's illness and his losing battle with death is overshadowed by his generous spirit and his tremendous sense of humor. This is a book you will want to read, discuss, and reread.
Rating: Summary: One of the best love stories I've ever read Review: A story about life and how you should live it. A story about death and how to die with dignity. A story about love and how to show it.
Rating: Summary: The antidote to Seat of the Soul Review: This was an uplifting, refreshing, energized story and I can not receommend it highly enough. It will make your heart glad. It will make your wife cry. Read it.
Rating: Summary: simply serves its purpose to the max Review: I fully enjoy this book. Will give it 5 stars without hesitation, any time. Just a few words for those other readers that couldn't appreciate the book either because of the level of English the author used or its content. First, common sense, this is a book intended to reach as many people as possible. What good does it do to have it written that we have to look up the dictionary on every other word? Second, these readers must be very lucky in life up to this point. I haven't been. It is a totally different story when you find out you are dying. Your life can turn completely upside down within seconds, and often you can do nothing to reverse it. It is not joking material nor much fun. So, please, these readers, give the book more deeper thoughts, and you should find it very helpful in your life, sooner or later. And very important, be thankful to Morrie.
Rating: Summary: inspiring lessons Review: I think the author was very luck to have a teacher like Morris. Not everyone has the luck. But through the book we also can learn from Morris' thoughts about life, love and death.
Rating: Summary: Input regarding a life lived well Review: Here is a book that touches the heart and gives to us a precious message. The message is to embrace life, love people, slow down and savor the very moment you are in. The message comes from a man who is dying from a debilitating disease, yet he is not beaten down by it. Instead his perspective is one of embracing life, and he teaches it to everyone he touches. Experiencing true joy is possible when his life lessions are learned.
Rating: Summary: Incredible Review: I read this book months ago on the long drive to Ohio, on my way to move into my college dorm. For someone who was scared to death about leaving my family and friends for the first time, to go 9 hours away from home, this book was simply a comfort. It was inpiring and I couldn't have read it at a better time. It gave me great hope and an optimistic outlook towards my upcoming college years. It also made me think about things in life a lot more and realize how much I actually take for granted. This book was filled with many, many insightful aphorisms. It truly is a book filled with incredible meaning and wonderful words of wisdom.
