Summary: Morrie, although dead, changed my life
Review: Tuesdays with Morrie was a reading assignment for my english class,I didn't believe it would be that good. The book touched my heart so much. I just wish that I could of met the hero (Morrie). He changed my life. In the future I hope I can model my life to be a little more like he was all the way to the end.

Summary: MUST-READ BOOK ABOUT REALLY LIVING.
Review: I THINK THIS BOOK SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR STUDENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL. THIS BOOK IS PROBABLY THE MOST LOVED BOOK I HAVE READ THIS YEAR. MITCH ALBOM REALLY HIT HOME WITH HIS TRUE FEELINGS ONE CAN HAVE FOR A RESPECTED TEACHER. I TOO HAD A TEACHER LIKE THAT ONCE IN MY LIFE AND I WISH I WOULD HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO SPEND HIS LAST YEAR OF LIFE WITH. HE TOO HAS PASSED AND I WISH I WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM WHAT HE REALLY MEANT TO ME AS HIS STUDENT AND HIM AS MY TEACHER. I LOVED HIM DEEPLY. THIS PAST FEBRUARY I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK WITH HIS WIFE. I TOLD HER THAT HE WAS MY FAVORITE TEACHER AND THEN SHE SAID HE WAS MINE TOO. WE BOTH HUGGED AND IT MADE ME FEEL LIKE SHE KNOWS WHAT AN AFFECT HE HAD ON MY LIFE, AND WHAT A TEACHER CAN DO FOR HIS STUDENT.

Summary: Self-serving Reporting
Review: I had heard wonderful reviews of this book and how the author had done such a wonderful job with the subject of death and dying. I have no doubt that Morrie was a brilliant man and wonderful teacher. I suppose as with everything in life, we appreciate what we have too late. It struck me that this was the case with Mr. Albom. Funny, if Morrie was his favorite teacher and someone whom he treasured, why did the man have to be dying for Mr. Albom to be in communication with him once again??? Could it be for the right to share the dying experience and be enlightened, or could it be due to the fact that Mr. Albom was not working at that time and writing about Morrie was a convenient money-making option. I, too, have had a friend die of ALS, but never in my wildest dreams would I have commercialized his death for my own personal notoriety and gain. I also have a favorite teacher from my youth and am still a student learning from him, 30 years after the classroom. I didn't wait until he was in tragic circumstances to resume contact and I have made it a point to let him know during every visit that he made a great influence on my life and still inspires me to do my best. I only wish Mr. Albom had had the guts to let his professor die in peace and dignity. And, it appears that the things Morrie abhorred about our life in the nineties were the very things that nurtured the author. Sad testament to our society.

Summary: Makes the tears comes at all the right moments in the book.
Review: A fine piece to bring out the tears at all the right places. Beatiful and sugary. The big question for me, that Mitchell does not address, is whether he went to see Morrie, after seing the Ted Koppel interview, because he cared and felt guilty with Morrie, or because he smelled the business opportunity of writing a book. I would love to know. Regards from Puerto Rico.

Summary: All those years & so little reflection on his wife
Review: How can so many years of marriage and an assumed partnership of these two people take a backseat to his students? My heart broke for the realtionship. I like to think marriage means more after all those years. So sad! Author comment pls

Summary: The most extraordinary and enlightening book I've read.
Review: This is a must-read for anyone interested in their own personal growth and spiritual development. I couldn't put the book down until I had finished it. Morrie, through his beautiful relationship with a former student, talks about the meaning of life. Because he is about to die and has made peace with this knowledge, he is able to speak from his heart as to what is truly important for us to learn. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: some live more in one day than others in an entire lifetime
Review: I sat down in a cafe, and within 10 pages was struggling not to cry. Later, at home, I didn't struggle any more. There are more profound books, there are books that are more well-written, more complex. But it should be the simplest things in life that touch us most. Isn't that what Morrie wanted us all to know?

Summary: A truly perfect book
Review: This is one of those rare novels that is a gift to read. When finished, one wants to thank the author for writing it. It sharpens your senses, makes you stop to scratch your dog under the chin, and smile when the sunshine is out.

Summary: An insult to the man
Review: Morrie was obviously an amazing, caring, wise person. He got that way by living a life of service to humankind, by focusing on more important things than money. So along comes this journalist who jots down a few quotes, and people flock to it saying how much they learned. This totally misses the point. Morrie's life demonstrates that there are no shortcuts to the lessons he's learned, but in our quick-shot read-a-book-and-now-I-know-everything society, people think they "get it." Morrie specifically says that he hates self help books, and yet now his life and death have been turned into one. How sad.

Summary: An inspirational lesson of living...
Review: "Tuesdays with Morrie" was an inspirational account with a simple but powerful message for living that all of us caught in the daily doldrums could appreciate. It more than exceeded my expectations in being much more than a "self-help" book and made me really think about where I am in my life and where I want to be.

I could see why some people are critical of what they consider "oversimplification" of important issues such as love and death, and I must admit at times I found myself wanting more from the book... but perhaps we are supposed to find our own meaning/appreciation in the simplicity of the message -- isn't that the whole point?
