Rating: Summary: Extremely meaningful and comforting book. Review: Having read the 'professional' reviews, as well as many from the general readership, I can't help but feel that they are missing Mr. Albom's point. The abiding message of "Morrie" seems to be about giving love, and making sure that everyone you care about KNOWS how you feel. As both a recent widow, and one who has always read 4-6 books/week, I found the book incredibly comforting, well written, and easy to assimilate. Kudos for 'Morrie" and Mitch.
Rating: Summary: Read this to feel good about life. Review: Everyone should read this book. The story will help you re-focus on what is really important in life. It will give you a living, real example of how to concentrate on the good and less on the evil that surrounds us all. When you finish the book you will want to hug your loved ones.
Rating: Summary: The perfect book to take a pause and ponder the future Review: A fine example of a book that makes you take a pause and ponder the future and adjust accordingly
Rating: Summary: Incredibly soulful Review: I can't give this book to enough people fast enough! Its a hard book to top. Not sure what to read next, without feeling disappointed
Rating: Summary: Material for true living Review: Additional instructions for how to live your life. The book was heart-warming and reaches deeply into that sensitive part of all of us. We all fear death, but as we have been told time and time again, it is unavoidable. Morrie's final lesson is one of truth. Released from the power of the "material world" Morrie is free to live out his final days knowing who he is, who he has been and though it is unspoken, he knows who he is to God. Two very powerful messages are woven throughout the book: one must first learn how to die in order to understand how to live; and if you have lived your life in a way that has touched the lives of others, when you dies, it only life that has ended not a relationship. The relationship will live forever. Thank you Mitch for this wonderful story, it has taught me much.
Rating: Summary: One of the top ten books I have ever read Review: The book makes you laugh, cry, think and reflect. If you open youself up it will make a positive impact on the way you live your life.
Rating: Summary: a challenge to the readers priorities Review: I am 26 and read primarily business books. My wife convinced me to read Tuesdays with Morrie and I was happy I did. While the story is extremely sad, it made me think about my priorities and about the people who have influenced me in my life who I have not kept in touch with. Morrie's perspective on life is something everyone should try and take with them from this book.
Rating: Summary: What a wonderful gift Morrie gave! Review: I wish there was an extra star to give this book. I did not put it down until I finished it. It is hard not to fall in love with Morrie after reading this book and I wish I had the chance to know him before he died. Morrie's philosophies about life make so much sense and remind us what is truly important in life. I think every adult should read this book. I cried through the entire book, but I loved the messages it provides to readers.
Rating: Summary: This one stuck a chord. Review: I loved this book! The themes about finding what it means to live and where happiness stems from just really struck a chord with the situations that I have been facing for the past few months. I cried and laughed throughout this book. I also appreciated Albom's style of writing. I liked that it had a journalistic tone, yet was very poignant. I HIGHLY recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: A great book for all ages Review: I am a fifteen year old male who when was shone this book for the first time was not at all thrilled about reading it. As I started the first page I could not put it down until the end of the first chapter! I think that personally every person should either hear or read the message that this book has to offer. Although not everybody will experience the same message I think that they will have a good one.
